Wow! Great video. That Tim Staples knows his apologetics. I’m impressed that after being brought up as a Baptist, then AOG (or whatever he was), he learned so much about the Catholic Church and converted.

Hope I helped.

Ever watched that show on Ewtn? ‘The journey home’?

Note its 54:37 long. So maybe watch in parts or in your free time. That is if you want to watch.

I think the hatred on CARM is worse than what I’ve read here. Maybe our mods are just more on the ball.
Could be. But, I’ve had some rather extended conversations with people who clearly white nationalists (or not too far off that) use selective takes on Catholicism to justify their thinking.

I’ll try to watch it tomorrow. I’ve seen some episodes of this show and I love hearing/reading about conversion stories.

Do you know the number of Catholics and priests killed during the time of Protestant
England when it was against the law to practice the Catholic faith?

Matt slick runs CARM and has employed shady tactics in his evangalization. I’ve met Matt. Not exactly someone I’d trust with theology or my soul.

White nationalists on here?
I am by no means saying that this is even close to normal here. But I’ve seen some pretty creative arguments about the European / American cultural supremacy justifying some of the worst injustices of the colonialism and the like.

And of course Queen Elizabeth I and other Protestant rulers executed Catholics for religious reasons as well…

That was a good episode. My desire is for
more African-Americans to be drawn to the Catholic Church. This man is a good
evangelizer and could certainly help spread the Truth of the Catholic Church to
that community.

I don’t know the exact number, but I read that Henry VIII executed about 70,000. I don’t know how many were for religious reasons, and how many for political reasons. Under Mary I, there were about 290 Protestants executed.

True. Although it was claimed that many of the Catholics executed were executed for political reasons. There were religious wars going on.
The question was why do some Protestants dislike Catholics. I was pointing out that one possible reason could be that their recollection of the religious wars that were going on a few hundred years ago may have something to do with their dislike of Catholics.

The bible verse that you could refer to is the “You are Peter…and on this rock, I will build my church.”
I can’t remember what verse or what book that was from. Friends, would you help me out?

Religious people who are truly believers share goodwill to others in common.

If that isn’t in evidence then you’re not dealing with a true believer.

So…my question. How do we know that our Faith is the first Christian Church and really does go back to Jesus Himself, and St.Peter?
I don’t think the people there disagree that RCC was the first Christian Church.

Their argument is that the RCC lost it’s way over the centuries.

Rather, I think its more accurate to say that anti-Catholic propaganda / sentiment (and yes, some of which was based on legitimate complaints as you point out) from the Reformation era has become its own body of tradition that has been passed down by generation to generation of Protestants.

Brazil 210 million, Salt Lake City 200,000. So Brazil is about a thousand times bigger.
