I will continue to pray for all the protestants in purgatory. Those who refused to believe sure need us Catholics now. And I can only hope and pray my brothers and sisters continue to help the poor souls when my time comes if I am so lucky enough

I think the key word is “We” are required. In other words we Catholics have a grace and a burden. The magisterium says There is a Purgatory? Then it must be true and we Catholics do not have the luxury of not believing in it. However, Those “who through no fault of their own are born into such eclesiastical communities”, I believe, it is not held against them. I believe the same is true about the Marion dogmas.
I believe, and will defend, every Marion dogma. But Mary is not the way to heaven. She can point you in the right direction, and is a huge help to those who emplore her though. And she knows the way better then anyone. But she is not the way
Agreed.

Yes, Mary indeed is not the way, but The Way loves and respects His mom, so it always helps to have her as an advocate. 👍

It does not make sense for people to suffer for something God already has forgiven.
Purgatory are for those souls who are on their way to heaven, this has nothing to do with what God has already forgiven.

“Nothing unclean goes before the Father in heaven”… Each of us must go through what scripture describes as a testing by fire. This divine fire, is what will cleanse our souls of any stains resulting from our past forgiven sins that may still require God’s justice to remove any punishments or stains that are needed by God to remove them by His fire. Many will suffer lost through purgatory because God’s justice will be made known.

Our works will be tried by the fires of purgatory, if they don’t reach heaven and are removed through the fires of purgatory, this one suffers a lost because no award awaits him/her which do not get purified as gold through a fire. Others will reap an award and ask Jesus, when did we do this? or do that for you?.. And others after purgatory will say to Jesus, did we not proclaim your name? Jesus will say to these, “yet I never knew you”. These souls have just went through purgatory.

God is a consuming fire, which the burning bush reveals to Moses to be on fire, yet the bush does not burn. This purgatory fire is a cleansing of the soul before entering heaven, It is God who does this, just as God has forgiven our sins at baptism with fire, and confessed sin by fire. Those souls through purgatory will be purged and cleansed before entering heaven.
