Escuse me have you even read the prayer, there is nothing insulting about it.
Here is the prayer just in case you want to actually read what it says.
Oremus et pro Iudaeis. Ut Deus et Dominus noster illuminet corda
eorum, ut agnoscant Iesum Christum salvatorem omnium hominum.
Oremus. Flectamus genua. Levate.

look, i am not trying to take anyone’s side (least of all some one who everyone seems to like to mirror by insulting him the way you all feel insulted by him), but a jewish person would be offended by this prayer because of the parts i highlighted. Christians can’t see why because we think we are right and have the truth and “what is insulting about telling the truth?”
it’s the whole thing with “The Passion”. gibson included a line in the movie directly from the gospel. “let His blood be on us and on our children!” the pharisees said this to pilate as he washed his hands of Jesus’ blood. the ADL was up in arms because this line was included in the movie. “but it is right there in the bible!” came the argument from Christians. but the jews saw it differently. that line has led to so much persecution of the jews throughout history that to include it in a blockbuster movie caused a sense of fear and insult to arise in them.
i saw the version of the movie with the line still subtitled. the version that was released in theaters still had the line spoken in hebrew (or was it aramaic?) but it was no longer subtitled because even gibson realized that to some, the line felt insulting and dangerous.
this prayer would offend a jewish person. it is basically saying, “you aren’t going to heaven so i will pray that you will realize the error of your ways and accept Jesus as the messiah.” we think that sounds just fine, but it is insulting, not only to jews but to anyone who it could be applied.
to include some thing like that into a prayer seems passive-aggressive to me.

That is the the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.
It is the responsibility of every Christian especially the leader of the Catholic Church to speak the truth and admonish all sinners of their sin. However back to the prayer, nothing in it is insulting it is nothing but a prayer to God the all his children accept and turn to Our Lord Jesus…
