Protestant Radio to Ireland?

Check out the stats on what’s going on in Ireland. Highest suicide rate, very low church attendance and a lot of general hopelessness. The people from KLOVE obviously want to make a positive impact on the people of Ireland. Do you think everyone should stay out just because of some of the Catholic roots? Thank God for Saint Patrick and the incredible work he did. The Irish people need help and encouragement (don’t we all!). By the way what are you doing in Ireland, probably nothing and it shows. Sounds harsh, not as harsh as letting them go to hell.

So who is standing around and watching? And what will Catholics do?

Myself I’m a former protestant that is now in the fullness of Christ in the Catholic Church, but my first step was finding Christ in the protestant church, then as I submitted to the Holy Spirit, the Lord lead me into the Catholic Church. It is obviously that just because someone is culturally Catholic doesn’t mean he or she knows their faith or Christ. And ****if you look at the numbers many Catholics have already rejected their faith for secular culture in Ireland. ****

K-love is an ecumenical ministry that doesn’t promote an anti-Catholic view, in fact Catholic ministries have promos on the network.

They do not have tele-evangalist programing promoting anti-Catholicism, they play praise-worship type music 24/7. Their aim seems to be to bring to those that don’t know Christ the message of Christ, not pull the faithful out the Church.

We in the Catholic Church have alot to learn about their approach, instead of condemning K-Love, we need to emulate their methods but with the fullness of the truth. We need to put our efforts and monies were our mouths are! Or other wise we become like the Pharisees and not disciples of Christ. It is one thing to claim to know the truth, but it is even harder to live it.

We also have to be able to discern whom is really working against us or working beside us.

But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man who shall do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me. For he that is not against us is for us. For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink, because ye are Christ’s, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. And whosoever shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it were better for him if a great millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

So who is standing around and watching? And what will Catholics do?

I do not agree. KLove represents false Christianity. I realize (obviously) that Protestants love Christ, yet so do those Catholics who are not active in their faith…they both are in the same place imo, mainly because the Catholics are not active in their faith, and the Protestants are following a false faith. I do not buy the notion of people coming into the Protestant Churches at least have an oportunity to become Catholic, because the vast majority (probably 99%) remain in the false faiths of the Protestant Churches. Yet, while this view may seem harsh to you, I also believe that Protestanism is part of the first woe found in Revelation chapter nine.

Christ began one faith, not thousands. Anyone who is not following that one faith is following a false faith and I personally do not want to see more people fall into that trap, not in Ireland, not anywhere.

How can you say those that are not active in their faith Love Christ? Not having an active faith is rejecting Christ and they are risking hell.

Rev 3:15-16 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth.

I agree that Christ started only one Church, but it is up to the members of the body to do more then judge what we see as “false” in others way of following Christ, but live out Christ’s message so those that are weak in the faith can gain strength in Christ through our witness. The best defense is offense, we have to be honest enough to see were we are failing then complain and judge how others are winning.

Do a poll in your Parish and find out how many ex-protestants you have in membership. It might suprise you.

And if you know of any fallen away Catholics, ask yourself why?

Many of the most active members of my parish are reverts and ex-protestants.

It appears to me that God is allowing this to happen, it may be just another way he is drawing us into action, instead of reactionary rhetoric.

John 6:43 -44 Jesus answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. No man can come to me, except the Father that sent me draw him: and I will raise him up in the last day.

John 6:64 - 66 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who it was that should betray him. And he said, For this cause have I said unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it be given unto him of the Father. Upon this many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

We have great stations/networks aimed at the faithful, but where is our Catholic Radio Network that is aimed toward the youth, the broken and disenchanted? That is the question we need to find an answer for.

Or, as I believe Protestantism is a work of satan.

I am not saying in-active Catholics are in a good situation, I am saying they are in a similar situationas most Protestants–not good at all.

Well said…if we are anti-everything that doesn’t come directly from Rome we run the risk of ‘losing out’ when it comes to witnessing [sharing] our faith , with our separated breathren. The ALPHA course/experience at our parish is a case in point as we have had a number of protestants come and experience real catholic hospitality…they would otherwise have never entered a catholic church ! If a radio station is pro-christian and not anti-catholic then i see no harm coming from its message.

I don’t know a lot about " Youth 2000 " but they do get the young involved here In Ireland.

And I watched a former gangland member lead these youths in my own Church, they were on fire for Christ, and hungry for the " Good News " .

The problem is they never felt loved, and never heard the Good News before, or if they did they weren’t listening, now when they’re shown a better way of life, many of them prefer it.

And I watched a former gangland member lead these youths in my own Church, they were on fire for Christ, and hungry for the " Good News " .

The problem is they never felt loved, and never heard the Good News before, or if they did they weren’t listening, now when they’re shown a better way of life, many of them prefer it.

Youth 2000 is a great Catholic program aimed at the youth and should be supported.
