Are there any two Protestant denominations that agree completely on each other’s doctrines?
Not that I know of.
I wonder if any of the “Apostolic” churches agree completely?

You use the term “unbiblical”. So apparently you believe the Bible teaches that one should not care what another teaches. Yet this idea seems unbiblical, since the Apostle said:

2 Peter 2 1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be among you lying teachers, who shall bring in sects of perdition, and deny the Lord who bought them: bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

2 Timothy 4 3 For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears:

So I agree that we are to work for God’s Kingdom. But apparently, we are also to preach, teach, reprove, rebuke and correct those who preach false doctrine:

2 Timothy 4
2 Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine.

Correct me if I’m wrong.

If its not too personal, what does “COGHOBDOJ” stand for? Tell me it isn’t your real name?

Sincerely,

De Maria
Unbiblical was a bad word to use. My apologies. Not ‘unbiblical’ meaning damning, but ‘unbiblical’ meaning what should be the main focus of a corporate body of believers or a local church. Sorry for the confusion. :o

All your scriptures I agree with. I guess many people have disagreements with what “doctrines” are. I think the Apostles Creed is a good starting point. How to conduct a service/mass or the issue of Sacraments seem to be hot topics for arguments and debates.

P.S. My first priest was Fr. DeMaria. 🙂

Child Of God, Husband Of Brandi, Dad Of Jada

This is a personal anthem of mine. This describes a divine order of priorities that I try to keep in my spirit. My relationship with Christ is paramount, my covenant with my wife is next, then my fatherhood of my child. I believe if I maintain these relationships in this order, God will bless that.

i.e., the best way to ensure I’m a Godly husband and father is to make my relationship with Christ top priority. To be the best father to my child and teach her about love, worship and relationships is to be the husband God calls me to be to my wife/her mother.

Get any of these out of order is unwise and runs the risk of lack of balance. Some people put their children above their marriage, bad plan.

Just my two cents…30,000 denominations of Protestanism, and only one Catholic church. Which would Jesus use??

Which would you choose… Many avenues to bring people to Him or one that a lot of people don’t trust for whatever reason… My belief is that Christ will use all that profess that He is the Savior of us all. Christ uses the picture of us all being the body of Christ. Tell me, if that is the case then it would make sense that EVERY part of Him has a different roll. The arms are not meant to function like the eyes and the spleen has an entirely different use than the arch of the foot. Yet it works as a whole to move Christ throughout this world. Why one part of the body wants to disassociate itself from the rest is beyond me… 🤷

Jesus’ wish was that we would all be “one”…not 33,001.

Paul stresses that we should all be of one mind, one deed and one word.

And that’s how Christianity was as long as there were only Catholics.

Not that I know of.

All Apostolic Churches agree completely.

They agree that they were started by one of The Apostles and that they are each granted their own authority under that succession.

We all believe in the fundamentals of our respective faith and all recognize that The Pope is the leader of The Catholic Church.

That on fact alone concretes shared faith. 🙂

What if a church’s main mission and vision was to bring the lost to Christ by sharing the Gospel? What if a church’'s main focus was loving on the poor, orphaned and the widow?

What if a church thought is was fruitless and unbiblical to focus on what they believe versus what other churches believed because that would take time away from doing what God REALLY wanted us to do, as a church?
In other words, what if The Church that Jesus started stuck to His words, while another church “protested” their work?

Yeah…I know what you mean.

Hi

Then what happened, in Catholicism, that their brethren in faith resorted to splitting. Please don’t put all your blame on those who splitted, there must be some cause very much in Catholicism that they resorted to such an extreme step. If there is a desire to unite, that would only materialize if those deficiencies/mistakes are addressed. Some sacrifices have to be done from your side (the Catholics) before others (the Protestants) get convinced that a Unity is essential to be formed.

I think you get my point.

Thanks

Paarsurrey- Your Faith is Muslim and your sect/denomination Ahmadi?

Where do your people stand in relation with Shia and Sunni?

What happened in the Catholic Church that made the reformers break away? Lots of things that space won’t allow. I’m not saying some of the Reformers were wrong. There were many things the Church needed to purge, but you do that from within, not by breaking away.

The final result of the Reformation was a stronger more resolved Catholic Church, brought about from the inside.

Hi

Ahmadi or Ahmadia encompasses all the denomination of the Muslims and also all the Revealed Religions of the world . It started with the advent of the PromisedMessiah (1838-1908) who is the Secod Coming of Jesus, according to my faith, a successor of Muhammad in the latter days.

This is in short.
The rightful teachings of Shia and Sunnis are also included with us.

I think as a corporate body of believers, the Universal Catholic Church keeps its focus on doing works of mercy. It is only recently that Catholics have been called to more emphasis on Evangelizing by word. In the past the emphasis has been on Evangelizing by deeds.
Sorry for the confusion. :o
No problem.

Thats true. But I think reasonable men can discuss these things reasonably and arrive at the truth. I invite you to join in these discussions. I believe you have made a grave error in leaving the Church of your birth.
P.S. My first priest was Fr. DeMaria. 🙂
Its not my real name actually. I selected it in conformance with a wonderful Catholic tradition where men take Mary’s name as their own, St. Louis Marie De Montfort is one example.

In addition, the Spanish word “de” means “belongs to” and “from”. So this is my imitation of Christ who gave Himself to Mary and proceeded from her when she gave Him to the world.

I believe you are right. I’ve got four myself. God didn’t bless us with anymore and I believe my wife is past her years of conception. At least, she hasn’t conceived anymore and as practicing Catholics we don’t believe in birth control.

I agree. We homeschool our children and that really helps keep our priorities the way they should be.

They do not agree completely. So they were granted their own authority, cool, so no reason to be Catholic right?

The “fundamentals”…is that like the essentials? Denying history…tisk tisk.

Source for 30,000? For that matter, source for 1 Catholic church?
Source for 30,000?? Just open up your yellow pages, go out and see all the denominations in which someone has started. All documented, all Protestant.
Jesus started the Catholic faith, there were no Protestants before the year 1500, Luther and King Henry come in and decided they need to change because they couldn’t have their way. Come on people, in your hearts you must see what is in front of you. Sometimes I believe it isn’t your fault, that your pastors mislead you and tells you lies about the Catholic church, not to mention how Scripture is taken and interpreted incorrectly.
It is not easy to be a Catholic and that is why I love it so much. Jesus said “It is not easy to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”

If there is a family, and there are problems with the family, but they all are dependent on each other, it is wrong for “some” of the members to abandon the family as a whole.

No matter how rough my family is, I would never abandon them.

When problems arise, one doesn’t abandon the ones who love them.

With Christianity, that’s what happened. They “quit”. The didn’t stop being Christians (just as once one is born into a family, they can’t undo their birth), but they quit being members of the family. They went and started their own family.

And that family (because it was founded by quitters) also fell apart and kept dividing amongst itself. Even Jesus teaches that “a house divided amongst itself, cannot stand.” The word house has been used many times by Him to reference The Church. Only one house has stood since the beginning of Christianity.

Who loses on the inheritance that their entitled to? Those children who are born to the quitters because they don’t get to receive what the patriarch of the family intended for them. They only get a bible that is 90% complete (lacking in the complete Word of God), They only get a couple of the sacraments. They don’t have the benefits of The Priesthood. They don’t have the sacramentals (church, altar, tabernacle, etc…). That’s how one describes them in comparison with the source of the faith…by what they “don’t” have.

They may scream that “we have Jesus and that’s all we need!” To which I respond fine. But we have Jesus AND everything that came with Jesus (the books of The Bible that they removed? we have. The Sacraments that Jesus instituted? We Practice. The Priesthoo ordained by Jesus Christ that is lead by The Holy Spirit through Apostolic Succession? We are the beneficiaries of that Priesthood. And so on.

Of course, historically speaking, it was The Reformers who broke away from Christianity and went on to form their own forms of Christianity with new rules and a new bible and their own popes. But they never intended on doing this. They wanted to “re-form” The Church that God created and as we can see, what God ordains, no man can “re-form” to their liking.

However, what man ordains, never lasts.

I love them, even the ones who hate us. I don’t however wish that they would become Catholic. I wouldn’t want anybody here who didn’t want to be a “universal” Christian.

And that’s what we’re supposed to be…“universal” (Catholic means universal) Christians. We’re not supposed to belong to sects that were founded by men or name ourselves after men or after events (Lutherans, Baptists, Calvinists, Methodists, Millernarians, etc…) for it was through no man nor event nor anything other than Jesus Christ from which came our salvation.

To be called Catholic is to be called “universal” or not attributable to any one person or event. A universal Christian has no affiliation to any man-made Church, yet every other Christian church can be traced back to a human founder.

We don’t have to all agree theologically for us to reside in the same house (Church), but at the very least, the truth that we don’t agree has to be the foundation of our reunion. I could worship (and have done so many times) with Non-Catholic Christians and we’ve cried together and we’ve praised God together and never one did our differences come up because we knew we were different. What we focused on was what we had in common…God. And “THAT” was what mattered most to me.

If I write anything against Protestants, it always tongue and cheek…why? Because, I truly hold no animosity towards any man, much less my Christian brethren.

I just love to corner those who criticize us and use thier own words to shut them down so that they cannot continue to create desention between those who want to be united with us.

Pax.

Oh, and one more thing…during the dark ages, the clergy was whittled down by at least a full third (I’ve heard as high as 2 thirds). Catholics were the only ones treating the sick during the episodes of Black Plague and during the famines (no other Christins existed).

This desperation of The Church lead to an infiltration of opportunists that worked from within to meet their own needs. These “men” were never supposed to be Priests or Church leaders, but times were rough and they got in.

To have truly cleaned up The Church (as The Counter Reformation did), one didn’t need to abandon it, but work from within The Church. Why?

Because if there was a uncle molesting kids because the true father was away for a while, would it be good for one of the kids to run away and leave his brothers and sisters unprotected and tell them to run away? No. It would’ve been better to rid the family of the uncle who was hurting the children…that way, the family could remain intact.

That’s the past.

Today? Those “uncles” are not around.

Yet, the kids who were abandoned have forgiven the ones who did the abandoning while those that abandoned them criticize them for having stayed behind. Now, those who abandoned the family are in their own family where they were robbed by their step fathers.

We don’t want them back because “we’re right” and their wrong. No. We want them back because our father has returned and we want to share our home with them.

See?

It’s out of a pure heart that we want them back.

What kind of heart continues to want division?

Pax

Anglicans and Methodists have virtually no doctrinal differences. Within Methodism, the United Methodist Church, the British Methodist Church, the African Methodist Episcopal Church, and the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church have no doctrinal differences. The only differences are in polity.
I said polity, not policy.

The UMC, the AME, AME Zion, and CME congregations are Pan-Methodist in organization. And all of the above along with the British Methodists and Korean Methodists are members of the World Methodist Council.
The Free Methodists and the Wesleyan Methodists are about as close as you can get. I would say that they are identical, doctrinally…but again, there are questions of polity.
I am old enough to remember that they nearly joined once, back in the 1950s (after producing a common hymnal).
The reason it never occurred was, the Free Methodists call the highest church officres “bishops”, and the Wesleyans call them “presidents”. 🤷 🤷

And ultimately, that’s it.

It doesnt’ boil down to doctrine,
to faith in Christ,
to anything even remotely related to religion.

It always boils down to one thing:
PRIDE!

The adherents of the Catholic Church submit their wills to God first then follow His instructions which lead us to The Church.

If people would combine history with scripture, they’d find undeniable truth.

The easiest way for one to find out if their church is a Christian church (founded “by” Christ) is to find out who started their church.

Period.

End of Christian/Protestant debates.

That’s if they put aside their pride and just accept the truth.
