Okay whatever. The bible is not the only authority. Our Church, the bride of Christ, spoke long before a degenerate king decided that a different theology was required to kill his wife. The bible is Jewish faith history that is meant to be understood by theology. Catholic theology.
Says who besides you?

Okay, we are both Catholics. I was trying to share our common faith–not our differences.
I appreciate the kind gesture but I am stating that I am catholic (adjective), not Catholic as a proper name. I am a proud ACNA Anglican.

Hey, I have a question. This is TOTALLY off point, but since I have a real live devout Anglican at my attention, I need to ask, are there any Anglican Saints? If so, what is the process that Canterbury determines Sainthood? This is a sincere question.

Discerning2 hit the nail right on the head! Protestants borrowed nearly everthing from the Catholic Church. However, most of them have been twisted and corrupted to suit their own different brands of religion. They even borrowed our Bible and also corrupted some of the texts.

There is no Higher Authority in each of these protestant denominations, hence, you find so much disagreements amongst themselves. I am sure, while I am typing down this message, somewhere within a protestant denomination, another little group is emerging. Afterall, that’s what they are - keep on protesting, protesting …ever.

It wasn’t meant to come across that way, my apologies to you and anybody else who felt insulted.

Would somebody be kind enough to answer my question?

God bless,

What was the question ?

There are many Catholic theologies, just as there are many Protestant theologies. There are Catholic Barthians, just as there are Protestant ones. Not all Thomists are RC, BTW. IOW, there is plenty of mutual influence, between as well as within Churches.

Please note there is a difference between being Catholic and identifying yourself as Catholic on a survey. Surveys include “Catholics” that haven’t darkened the door of a church in decades, and it is hardly a fair comparison to use people like that as indicators of what the faithful do or believe. A fair survey would quantify them in some way - practicing Catholics, Catholics in name only, etc…

That strikes me as a very confusing system and one that is prone to errors and division with no authority to do anything but sit by and watch the splits go on forever.
???
This survey DOES include regular church attending Catholics…
podles.org/dialogue/183-183.htm

Regular church attending Catholics are more tolerantof abortion than the church attending protestants

Here is the double standard plain as day:

The RCC is being judge on the way it should be, not the way it is.
The Protestant Churches are judge on the way it is , not on the way it should be.

The Prots aren’t happy that churches split for doctrinal reasons either.
But if I really want to be with believers who feel Baptism is a adult decision , I can.
Note: many of the splits are just over the style of worship.

different beliefs, one roof or different beliefs, different roofs

the de-empsishsis the the Bible by the RCC as lead to this:
The “your not qualified to understand the Bible” perception has lead to this.
The “we will tell you what to think” perception has lead to this

au.christiantoday.com/article/luther-rome-and-the-bible/5255.htm

Only one in four Italians had read a passage from the Bible in the past year the survey revealed, compared to three out of four in the USA. Few even knew whether or not the Gospels were part of the Bible. Philosophy graduates confused Paul with Moses and thought that Jesus wrote Genesis, according to the survey., This despite the encouragement of the Second Vatican Council (1962-65) for the faithful to rediscover Scripture as the primary source of spiritual life."

This is the Church of Rome in the country of Rome…

Why is the country that is the most historically connected to the Catholic church, the country where close to 100% identify themselves as Catholic, so Biblicaly illiterate?

Some Anglicans consider King Charles I of England to be a Saint.

I think you just hit on a key point. What role, if any, does T(t)radition play in theology? Some would say the Bible is the only authoirty. If T(t)radition has a place in theology, who is(are) the interpreter(s) of it?

And who are the interpreters of the Bible?

A recent (1989–1992) survey of Catholics from multiple countries (the USA, Austria, Canada, Ecuador, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Peru, Spain and Switzerland), aged 15 to 25 showed that 36.9% accepted the teaching on papal infallibility, 36.9% denied it, and 26.2% said they didn’t know of it. (Source: Report on surveys of the International Marian Research Institute, by Johann G. Roten, S.M.)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papal_infallibility#Internal_opposition_to_the_doctrine_of_papal_infallibility

From 1992 , only 37 % of Catholics accepted Papal infallibility?
so do you think the number of Catholics believing in Papal infallibility went up or down?

Catholic unity of beliefs is a myth

So if I am looking for a church where the congregation /parish believes the Jesus was the son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, , was crucified and resurrected, etc…
Am I more likely to find that in a Protestant or Catholic Church?
rasmussenreports.com/public_content/lifestyle/holidays/april_2009/79_believe_jesus_christ_rose_from_the_dead

So if I am looking for a church where the congregation /parish believes abortion is wrong , divorce is wrong, gambling is wrong, etc…
Am I more likely to find that in a Protestant or Catholic Church?
podles.org/dialogue/183-183.htm

So if I am looking for a church where the congregation /parish has adult Sunday school classes, Sunday night small group home fellowships , Tuesday night Bible studies, Friday night accountability meetings (how was you walk with Christ this week?) where they open the Bible more than once a week, etc…

Am I more likely to find that in a Protestant or Catholic Church?

so the RCC is not not responsible for what the congregation believes , but protestant churches are?

The RCC is being judge on the way it should be, not the way it is.
The Protestant Churches are judge on the way it is , not on the way it should be.

have you ever simplified Protestant doctrine practices?

"The Bible-reading habits of Catholics lag far behind those of Evangelical Protestants…

Of course, some Catholics read their Bibles, but they are sadly too few in number.

My guess is that many Catholics simply don’t want to do the work. They are content to let Mother Church spoon-feed them. (They want to remain “babes in Christ” who drink “milk,” as Paul says.) *."
