That’s the thing, though. Perhaps this is a naive faith in the “goodness” of people, but I do NOT think that all these preachers are purposefully preaching lies! I think they preach in good faith that what they say is true, even though it is not. I think they are misguided. I also think that even if someone is completely wrong Christians should use COMPASSION in their treatment of them. Certainly some Protestants fail in this.
If someone believes in good faith that what they believe is true, why would they try to seek out the truth? Can we – fallible humans – blame them for that? How can we say we’re not the same way to some extent?
