Wiki is known to be an unreliable website. Why didn’t you just go straight to Most Holy Family Monastery home page? In any case, I am very familiar with them and fully support their efforts in bringing all to the truth concerning the Catholic Church.
From their website:
Benedict XVI’s recent Heresies against the Catholic Church source]
Seems Wikipedia is accurate in the regard that they’re sedevacantist.

Which parts are not accurate?
Thanks

I happen to be Catholic (who has held the sedevantist position for the past 10 years.

Concerning Most Holy Family Monastery
The diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska, condemns them as anti-Catholic
That tells me all I need to know as a Roman Catholic.🙂

I have to completely disagree with you as the catechism tells us that Protestants are our seperated brethren, they have a relationship with the Church in an imperfect way. Your comments are a little odd in that most Protestants confess that Christ is God, He was born of a virgin, believe the Bible is the word of God and inerrant, believe that Christ is coming again, in His redemption on the cross, His resurrection. Tell me of what I just listed is “man made?”

I find this type of thinking disconcerting coming from either Protestant or Catholics. Finally your comments are non-sensical. Yes there are some aspects of the Reformation that were “man made” such as sola scriptura and sola fide, but most Protestants that I do know have either simple faith in Jesus Christ or have a misunderstanding of the Catholic Faith and the catechism definately talks about those who are invincibly ignorant being saved.

No offense meant to you but your comments are similar to the fundamentalists who insist Catholics worship Mary and the Saints, think that the Church teaches that the Pope is sinless and that the Church forbids reading of the Bible. Comments such as "Protestantism is a man-made religion simply causes further division in the Body of Christ. I know many Protestants who love Jesus Christ and put some Catholics to shame.

As a Catholic, I am in full agreement with what the Church has always taught on this issue.

"The following statements on Outside the Catholic Church There is No Salvation are from the highest teaching authority of the Catholic Church. They are ex cathedra Papal decrees (decrees from the Chair of St. Peter). Therefore, they constitute the teaching given to the Catholic Church by Jesus Christ and the Apostles. Such teachings are unchangeable and are classified as part of the solemn magisterium (the extraordinary teaching authority of the Catholic Church).

Pope Innocent III, Fourth Lateran Council, Constitution 1, 1215, ex cathedra:
There is indeed one universal Church of the faithful, outside of which nobody at all is saved, in which Jesus Christ is both priest and sacrifice.”

Pope Boniface VIII, Unam Sanctam, Nov. 18, 1302, ex cathedra:
With Faith urging us we are forced to believe and to hold the one, holy, Catholic Church and that, apostolic, and we firmly believe and simply confess this Church outside of which there is no salvation nor remission of sin…Furthermore, we declare, say, define, and proclaim to every human creature that they by absolute necessity for salvation are entirely subject to the Roman Pontiff.”

Pope Clement V, Council of Vienne, Decree # 30, 1311‐1312, ex cathedra: “Since however there is for both regulars and seculars, for superiors and subjects, for exempt and non‐exempt, one universal Church, outside of which there is no salvation, for all of whom there is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism…”

Pope Eugene IV, Council of Florence, Sess. 8, Nov. 22, 1439, ex cathedra:
Whoever wishes to be saved, needs above all to hold the Catholic faith; unless each one preserves this whole and inviolate, he will without a doubt perish in eternity.”

Pope Leo X, Fifth Lateran Council, Session 11, Dec. 19, 1516, ex cathedra:
“For, regulars and seculars, prelates and subjects, exempt and non‐exempt, belong to the one universal Church, outside of which no one at all is saved, and they all have one Lord and one faith.”

Pope Pius IV, Council of Trent, “Iniunctum nobis,” Nov. 13, 1565, ex cathedra:
This true Catholic faith, outside of which no one can be saved… I now profess and truly hold…”

Pope Benedict XIV, Nuper ad nos, March 16, 1743, Profession of Faith: “This faith of the Catholic Church, without which no one can be saved, and which of my own accord I now profess and truly hold…”

Pope Pius IX, Vatican Council I, Session 2, Profession of Faith, 1870, ex cathedra: “This true Catholic faith, outside of which none can be saved, which I now freely profess and truly hold…”

Thanks to Most Holy Family Monastery.

Protestantism is indeed a man-made religion for does not have Christ as its founder, but man who rebelled against our Lord’s Church and broke from it.

Again no offense but technically if you are a sedavacantist then you are in schism and not in full communion with Rome and technically in sin. Your comments regarding Protestants are a little like the pot calling the kettle black. You can’t be a sedavacantist and a full Catholic at the same time, nor more then a Protestant can be a full Catholic.

I’ve always understood that the majority of Roman Catholics don’t consider sedavacantists to be orthodox members of the Church. I know one or two Roman Catholics who aren’t entirely happy with Vatican II or the way the church has gone since then, and are hard-core traditionalists…but at the same time they accept the papacy and authority of the last few popes, including Benedict XVI.

Well, I suppose I shouldn’t turn this into a sedavacantist thread 🤷

I write and then erase so many comments and never post them when it comes to threads such as this…and many think I’m too outspoken now.

So Emily - your fight is with both Protestants and post-VII Catholics?

From one Soldier to another - you’ve got courage, I’ll give you that. 😃

It’s those man-made religions of ours. They mess everything up. 😃
I make up religions all the time. Sometimes by accident. Earlier today I was going out to my car and BAM! invented another religion. I’m running out of room in my closet, dang it!

Wow Emily1, when I read the first few entries of this thread, I thought I had wandered into the traditionalist forum by mistake.

I had never heard of a sedevacantist and had to look it up. At least I now know why the you kept quoting a lot of long dead popes.

From what I read, the guy who founded the monastery you cited most likely could be accused of starting his own sect or religion and, while I am far from expert on the Catholic Church, it would seem to me he could be accused of heresy.

Seeker.

Perhaps I’m amazed at the level of intellectual and spiritual cowardice on display…because that is the only reason for such threads.

Protestantism: A Man-made Religion

2 Peter 2:1- “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be among you lying teachers, who shall bring in sects of perdition, and deny the Lord who bought them: bringing upon themselves swift destruction.”

There are thousands of different denominations today, all of them non-Catholic. Even the founding fathers of Protestantism could not agree on major doctrinal points. Thus, the bad fruits of there man-made religion is manifested in all this doctrinal chaos within the Protestant communities.

The Catholic Church is the one, true Church established by Jesus Christ. Outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation.
If your going to say those outside have no salvation…certainly there are those inside the Church who won’t be saved either.

Ok. Is there a question here?

Well said Jack! 👍

From Emily’s point of view it appears that the gates of hell did prevail against the Church.
