Okay quick question, are all non-Catholic christian religions considered protestant? If not what exactly is the breakdown? How many different types of groups are there?
I will reference this quote later on. Jo’s Dad if a stranger were to ask you where the Catholic Church meets in your town, would you point out your own church?“[T]here are many other things which most properly can keep me in [the Catholic Church’s] bosom. The unanimity of peoples and nations keeps me here. Her authority, inaugurated in miracles, nourished by hope, augmented by love, and confirmed by her age, keeps me here. The succession of priests, from the very see of the apostle Peter, to whom the Lord, after his resurrection, gave the charge of feeding his sheep [John 21:15–17], up to the present episcopate, keeps me here. And last, the very name Catholic, which, not without reason, belongs to this Church alone, in the face of so many heretics, so much so that, although all heretics want to be called ‘Catholic,’ when a stranger inquires where the Catholic Church meets, none of the heretics would dare to point out his own basilica or house”
Well, technicly, there are no Christian religions that aren’t Catholic.
Not if they believe in the Trinity anyway.
God Bless.
Right. They are considered schimatic because they don’t acknowledge the pope as the Vicar of Christ on earth. They are not heretical and their communion is valid because their priesthood has proper apostolic succession.I don’t believe the various Eastern Orthodox faiths are considered Protestant.

HiHello Squeekster,
Don’t worry about getting banned here, feel free to ask your questions or post your objections to the Catholic faith. Just remember to post your objections one at a time one thread at a time and we will be happy to give a reason for the Catholic faith.
This site is called Catholic Answers for a reason, we are here to ask questions and get answers. Unlike other boards you wont get banned for questioning our faith, because we have specific answers for it.
Now if you just start saying that the Catholic Church is evil without caring for responses then you will get banned as that is not discussion.
So welcome to the forums and feel free to start a thread with one reason why you don’t agree with the Catholic Church.
God Bless

I sincerely doubt that would be the only reason. Did the friend ask the question and with no replies suddenly get banned? Doubtful, assuming, of course, there was some charity in the question. Obviously, bad language/attitude (ie lack of charity to others) are not to be tolerated.Hi
I have to disagree with you on this one. A friend of mine got banned from this site for asking a question on the relationship of the Catholic church and the book of Revolation.
Thanks
Could the question have been something like “Is the Catholic Church the Wh_ _ _ of Babylon in Revelations?” followed up with several more spewings. I’ve seen that get someone suspended, but not banned.Hi
