We pray for them, and God listens to you prayers, so yes, some are in heaven because of our prayers.

It may also be that some Catholics may be in heaven because of their prayers for us.

And of course it may depend a lot on the quality of goodness of the person doing the praying.

Yes, because I remember Padre Pio praying for the protestant mother of one of his spiritual catholic daughters. And after her mother died, she was worried so she asked Padre Pio, and Padre Pio said her mother is saved and she should not worry.

I am thinking Protestants can pray for Catholics but the problem is that they are not in sanctifying grace so the quality of the prayer may not be strong. Yes God can hear their prayers but God also remembers the sins they are not aware of, example: lustful thoughts committed , contraception…

Have you been to a protestant funeral lately? They’re more or less guaranteed to be in heaven upon death (according to their pastors), whereas we poor Catholics just have hope of it…

😛

All prayers are beautiful to the Lord.
May we all receive His Divine mercy on the last day. 😉

Unlike some, I believe God’s promise in Heb. 10:17. But, if you don’t believe it and receive it,then it doesn’t work for you.

But we don’t know that they aren’t in grace. I’ve know some very wonderful protestant people, warm, loving, and caring. They are prayerful and full of trust. So if I were to guess, I would think that a goodly number would be in grace because of their love.

Mind, I’m not saying that I would be anything but Catholic, because that is what Jesus wants…union and truth. But nevertheless, there are many good people who have not arrived at this and are not responsible for the errors they may believe in. And God the Father may let a lot slide for our fellow brothers/sisters .

It would be presumptuous to presume there are not Protestants who are not saints in God’s sight.
It would be presumptuous and judgmental of us!

God alone knows the state any souls are in.

Protestants and ourselves are not saved by us or our prayers, but by Christ.

Best wishes,
Pauline

This! :aok: Well said.

Yes, there are lots of very good Protestants. But the problem is they don’t believe in the theology of the RCC.

They openly deny the Pope, they even question the Immaculate Conception/Perpertual Virginity of Mother Mary. For Jesus, this is a very grave matter because She is His Mother. That is why there is the Saturday Devotions as requested by Our Lady of Fatima to make REPARATION for the sins of the unbelievers.

So, yes there are Protestants in heaven and this is because of the prayers, reparation and sufferings of the Catholics (in union with Christ) who spent it for them

Great points. I wonder who could be those Protestants be if there are any. I like it to be true but it is really hard to imagine for some reasons…

Hmmm, he/she did not adhere to RCC’s doctrines especially contraception.
He/she never respected the Immaculate Conception of Mary
They never received the Holy Body and Blood of Christ for 80 years on Earth.
They never fasted/abstain during Ash Wednesday/Good Friday
They never prayed the Rosary and went to Mass.

And yet this Protestant is more saintly in the eyes of God than the Catholic who sacrificed a lot in order to be obedient to Mama Mary and Jesus Christ?

Yes, all Protestants in heaven are saved by the Blood of Christ alone. But Jesus also wanted Catholics to use this Body and Blood Sacrifice of Christ to save our fellow Protestants

Protestants are in heaven because Christ died for all and made full atonement for all who believe in what He has done and has faith even as tiny as a mustard seed. Of course we don’t know for sure who is there - that is for God to determine in the final judgement. I know that if I were to die right now I would be there as well - I can’t do anything to earn that place but the Holy Spirit works the Faith in me to share fruits of my faith with others sometimes without me even knowing it.

God bless all!

Rita

Just don’t forget to keep reading, see Heb. 10:19-31

And personally, I think those we should be most concerned about are those who were brought up in the Church and willfully chose to reject it.,

I think most current Catholic funerals would leave one with the same impression.

Through the mercy of God, I sure hope so!

My dad and his side of the family were all Protestant, and I pray that they are now with God in heaven just as I do for the Catholic side of my family.

This is especially good to remember with All Souls Day coming up this Monday.

Would it not also be presumptuous to assume that there ARE Protestants who are saints in heaven before God’s sight?

We should work with what we know to be true and presume nothing. We know that Protestants are validly baptized. But we also know they lack the aid of sacramental grace, and once they lose the intial sanctifying grace of baptism, they have no way outside of perfect contrition of restoring it because they reject sacramental confession.

We should maintain hope for Protestants as only God knows their souls. But we should never presume that, no matter how morally good they may have been on earth, that they have been admitted to heaven. We are saved by grace. And we should always strive to bring Protestants to the One True Church - the Holy Catholic Church - because through her alone does all salvation come.
