First of all, the God’s Word is not only in the Bible. The Word of God is incarnate, a living Person, the Second Person of the Trinity. If I remove God’s Word, Jesus would not be discuss in this forum.

I also believe the Holy Spirit will guide you in this discussion. Paul use logic and reason to debate with the Greeks, who don’t know Hebrew Scripture.

I’m sorry if you think I am removing God’s Word. I’m not. Jesus would not be discussed here. Christianity is not the religion of the book like I said before. We are the Religion of the Word of God, incarnate. Jesus Christ. Christianity is defined by Him and Him ALONE, not just mere book.

You already read the Scripture. God give you an intellect to think for yourself. Base on Scripture, you already know some knowledge of it. Being Catholic has nothing to do with it.

I can not have a discussion about God without the use of Scriptures.

I think we can all agree that God and Faith almost always defy human logic. The bible proves this about God time and time again in the stories and lessons contained within.

We do need Scripture but we Christians are not dependent of the Holy Book. We are dependent on Jesus Christ, who is always with us.

At the time the only Scriptures available to the Apostles was the Hebrew Text. The New Testament was not written 20-30 after the day of Pentecost. The OT Scripture testify that Jesus is the Promised Messiah.

His life and ministry was know to the Apostles, and disciples. Jesus did not taught the Apostles to write down everything. He specifically told his Apostles to preach.

No. Catholics view Scripture as inspired, useful, profitable, teaching, reproof, and correction.

I also like to add that it is also possible to preach the Gospel without using the Holy Book. I’m sure you read Scripture long enough to know chapter and verses, by memory. You can also use reasoning in the light of the teachings of the Gospel.
