You, three others and I are sitting together and studying the Bible. We all start out praying that the Holy Spirit will guide us and we come across a difficult passage to understand. You tell all of us that you interpret to mean one thing, the three others all say something different, and I provide yet another interpretation using the CCC, because as a Catholic I would always use the CCC in any Bible study for reference to the official teachings of the Catholic Church . You insist, as do the others, that you are right and are guided by the Holy Spirit; however, the three others make the same claim. There are five differing interpretations for the same piece of scripture, who is right? Who has the Holy Spirit guided?
No. All readers know as do you. God is in us all. His voice is there and we know it. It is up to us to obey it and not block it.That statement is begging the question.

It is correct that the Eucharist is the body and blood, soul and divinity of Christ, and it’s also NOT the body and blood, soul and divinity of Christ? In this case, either it’s True, or it’s an absolute abomination to worship a piece of bread.

In there own opinion, they are in “communion” but in TRUTH they are not, as they do not have or give evidence of Direct Apolostolic Succession.
- Many of the churches that have a eucharistic understanding of communion on the list are in full sacramental communion. For example TEC, ELCA, UMC, and others are in full communion the way Rome is in communion with some uniate churches. So, by extension the UMC is in full sacramental commuin with the Old Roman Catholic Church of the See of Utrech. You cannot fairly count these as two different churches by Rome’s standard because the UMC is in communion with TEC who in communion with the C of E who in communion with Utecht. All of these should be counted as one church.

- The churches that don’t have a sacramental theology share an understanding that all “Bible believing” churches are already in the highest state of communion possble. Their ecclesiology is just different from sacramental churches. To them, independent Bible believing churches are already unified as different congregations of the one body of Christ.
The ultimate truth is Love. Reaching the ultimate truth can be contradictory. Thus many things can be contradictory but still 100% true as love is what it is all about. Thus many things can be contradictory but still 100% true as love is what it is all about. The examples that you have given above are excellent examples of this.
It is possible for all to be correct. God is true. God does not lie. If each follows the truth then they are all correct. Things can be totally contradictory and that is good and fine. The interpretation of the Eucharist is an excellent example. God guides us each as to how it is to be understood. Contradictions are okay as the ultimate purpose is love.:whacky: :whacky: :whacky:
No - if five statements are all contradicting each other then it isn’t possible for all of them to be correct. At best, only one of them is correct. That’s if you’re lucky.
God isn’t someone that we can make into our own image. He’s also not an imaginary friend that we can make things up to have Him say.

While I see where “seeker” is right in certain respects, such as where Scripture has multiple levels of meanings, or where we get something different out of a passage due to our life experiences or where we are on our spirual journey, this is not true of the essential truths of the Gospel, in particular to the Eucharist.
This is why Christ, in His infinite wisdom, founded a visible Church to deal with such issues.
I’m all for allowing some leeway in interpretation and in how one approaches their spiritual journey, but not so much leeway that the “hard and narrow road” to heaven becomes the “Wide and Easy Road” to hell.

Logic afirms that any and all single issue can only have a single truth, That ones denies, alters, ignores, or susbtitutes there own “understanding” of that truth, in no way, changes what THE TRUTH is.
What ever the number actually is;[hundreds ot thousands] there cannot be that many versions of the single truth of Faith. It simply cannot be!***

As I answered to someone else Love is the truth. Things glorifying love can be contradictory.
I honestly commend you, that at least you did not dancing around the question and provided what you believe. I do mean this with kindness; however, I am having trouble grasping the concept that you have put forth. If there are five interpretations all contradicting each other, then the Holy Spirit has lead one to the truth and the rest in error. I cannot believe that the Holy Spirit would lead in error. If you say that the Holy Spirit never guided the other four, and then we are back to the question, which one has the Holy Spirit guided. In addition, how do you know which one it was, who gets to decide?If all are truly for God then it is possible that all are correct.
Let us do an example. 5 people of the Holy Spirit get together to make a decision. Lets not confuse personal opinion and truth. One may uold a persoan; opinion that may or may not be the truth. But the truth is always and can only be the truth or there can be no truth..***
