I agree. There is no room for remarks like Peary. please apologize. I used to be a fundamentalist. Truth takes time to learn. My issue with people is their constant resistance to allowing the Holy Spirit to work within them.
 
I think any reasonable person that would watch all the ritual and ceremony given to statues and the saying of the rosary ad nausem would conclude the statues and Mary are worshiped regardless of the hair splitting the RCC does.

I give you this short video as example that is full of claims that have NO sense, are just wrong and have no scriptural ground. Why do the protestant think that we worship statues and make Mary a a goddess??? Is it because they LIKE to think this otherwise they would all have to become CATHOLICS??? It seems to me that the catholics don’t defend their faith enough…Maybe it would help if we left a few notes under the video…imagine, if there is 100 of them, maybe it would make them go and study a bit about the catholic faith so they opened their eyes and realise that we don’t pray to statues and what they say is a lie!!!

I don’t and have never believed any lies about the RCC. I believe i have diligently and with great effort sought out the truth about the RCC.

The sad facts are simply the truths about the RCC are far worse than any lies in my mind.

Good charitable acts of great spirituality have turned into meaningless ritual with chain upon chain of rules and silly procedures that Christ railed against with the Jews exist where such questions like “can i make confession over the phone” or “does coming into mass late count?” are asked in all seriousness and concern for one’s soul.

count for what?? righteousness?? count on the scoreboard??

Does any RCC member honestly believe Paul would countenance statues and images in the Church (of any sort for any purpose?)

Does any RCC member honestly believe Paul ever said the Rosary. or Peter for that matter?

But such is human nature.

One Catholic getting nasty and spiteful toward fundamentalists does not justify a non-Catholic doing the same toward Catholics.

We can all say things that are unedifying – but most of us control ourselves.

Just because it would feel good does not mean it needs to be said. Let us all have some self control here.

i’m sorry, it thought it was a very even tempered and objective statement.

as far as being inaccurate, i believe you are the one mistaken. otherwise why is there the widespread and massive belief that statues and Mary are worshiped?

The RCC is responsible for how they are perceived. They may not think so, but anyone that becomes a successful leader knows that perception is the responsibility of the one being perceived.
Only the arrogance and pride of the RCC prevents them from humbly realizing they have made grave errors in the past and seek to correct them.

Just asking the hard questions. People with answers don’t take umbrage to hard questions.
Waiting for the answers to the questions.

My brother is an ordained deacon with the RCC. Last night i spent 2 hours on the phone with him asking about purgatory. I would bet real money I know more about RCC dogma than 99.9999 per cent of all Catholics.

For example, I know the real reason there are statues, images and other such in the RCC churches. I would bet most of the people that post on this board don’t know that.

I take real offense to being told me and my friends are afraid of the truth.

We have had Catholics asking a Catholic to engage in self control, and we have non-Catholics asking a Protestant to have self control. When people of our own `side’ are asking us to tone it down, it is a solid sign that we need to tone it down.

We can all say things that are unedifying – but most of us control ourselves.

Just because it would feel good does not mean it needs to be said. Let us all have some self control here.
 
If I were Catholic, I wouldn’t offer answers to you - because you obviously wouldn’t be content with the answers (which are easily found in many places).

You can certainly disagree with Catholicism. I have my disagreements with it too. But they need to be credible arguments based in Christian theology and ecclesiology instead of bigoted (and untrue) generalizations and perceptions.
 
Although unqualified as I am due to my lack of education to speak for the Catholic Faith, I will answer. Yes, I do believe that Peter and Paul would pray the Rosary because it’s about Jesus and the Power of God. So much for my :twocents:

not “would they”, thats a judgment call. the question was “did they?”
there is a world of difference to protestants. and this is a protestant viewpoint thread.
