**I think the question was specifically about the Hail Mary. Do you think that Jesus said THAT one? **

exactly, the half page flood never addressed the basic issue.
I would love to hear a pure open faced answer to that one.

Actually the Bible came from God.👍
I don’t think anyone doubts that the scriptures came from God, through His inspiration. The question the other poster was asking was, how did it go from being individual letters and epistles during the first century, and end up in our hands in the twenty first century?

It’s my understanding that God used the men of the Church, which He also gave us, to write those scriptures. God also used men to bring them all together to be of one ‘book’. God used men to preserve them, through the ages, until we, ALL Christians, have at least one in their homes today.

There were other changes made to the word, and we have to wonder if those changes were truly God (name removed by moderator)ired, or man’s attempt to set them in a proper order. There were chapter and verse numbers added, punctuation added and multiple translations in to every language. Many translations are different. How do we know exactly what the correct translation is in that case? Punctuation was dependent on sentence structure according to the time and language used by those that added the punctuation.

If one wonders how punctuation could be an instance of different meanings, let me offer just one example that could change a meaning.

Below is the way we find Luke 23:43 in our Bibles.

**(KJVA)
Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

(Douay-Rheims)
Luk 23:43 And Jesus said to him: Amen I say to thee: This day thou shalt be with me in paradise.**

Now let move just one punctuation mark, in each version.

**(KJVA)
Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee to day, shalt thou be with me in paradise.

(Douay-Rheims)
Luk 23:43 And Jesus said to him: Amen I say to thee this day: thou shalt be with me in paradise.**

So, we depend on a man’s sense of sentence structure, according to his language and era, to tell us what was being said. Did Christ tell the thief that day, he would be in heaven, or did He tell him that, that day he would be in heaven?

Some believe we will all be resurrected and then judged, others believe we receive heaven upon our deaths. Which is correct? This point can be a major discussion between theologians.

You do not want to go there.
First, the New Testament canon as most of the church accepts was decided in the 300’s. The Orthodox claim credit for it too. The Roman Catholic Church initiated the 1054 split against the Eastern Orthodox; it was a messenger representing Rome who delivered a note of `excommunication.’ Far from your proposal being grounds to accept the authority of Rome, it is actually an argument favoring Eastern Orthodoxy instead.

Second, and more importantly, if believing the Bible required also accepting the claims of Rome, I would reject both. I doubt that I am the only person who feels that way. Do you want us to not only continue to reject Rome, but also to cease to have any belief in Scripture?

Third, the Bible came from God. 2 Timothy 3:16 says “All Scripture is breathed out by God” (ESV). Scripture is Scripture regardless of if we recognize it or not. Taking credit for the Bible is taking credit for something God explicitly gave Himself credit for. I would not go there; He might not take it too well.

There are plenty of decent arguments for Catholicism that do not require going here.

Also, not every person is worth arguing with. Some people are opposed to Catholic precepts but can be reasoned with to at least respect Catholicism. Other people are so poisoned by hate, contempt, and bitterness against Catholic people that their brains do not function well, and they cannot be reasoned with.
yes, i want to go there.

now, explain where the Bible came from? how did you get the Bible from the CC?

i dont want your opinions, there are plenty of it going around.

you said something, now i want you to show how the Bible came to be.

because of the flooding I am repeating this post so it doesn’t get buried:

I think its pretty clear Christ hated mindless prayers said in rote over and over. God is not deaf and God heard the sinner’s prayer the first time.

Christ no more wanted the Lord’s Prayer said over and over by rote any more than a teacher wants his students to stop growing and just say the math tables over and over by rote for their whole lives and never do real math. It was a teaching example plain and simple.

as far as Paul, he was a pharisee of the pharisees. He would have been appalled at any images or likeness used for worship or of people.

Solomon put the images in the Temple he was instructed to put there but they were not of people in likeness of people. that is the prohibition.

And even with all the flooding, the original question of “Did Paul ever say the rosary?” was never answered.

on this issue of what was the exact path the Bible took from the Apostles to the modern day text, I am not sure. I wasn’t there and all we have is sketchy histories written by the winners.

I can and will say if the RCC was involved, it wasn’t the debauched, pedophile riddled, political, sinful church it is today.

is it your assumptions infallible? who sent you to teach? do you have Apostolic succession? how did you get it?

the Jews do pray the Beads, did you know that? they pray the Psalms. do you know who wrote the Psalms?

irrelevant to my original question. I have a right to ask questions, those that have answers don’t have a problem with that. Ignorants like yourself deflect and attack.

Protestants have been dissing Christ’s Church since Martin Luther nailed his 95 feces to the church door. I’ve talked to some of these fundies and, believe me, you can’t fix stupid. Offer up a prayer that God grants them a measurable IQ. 😉
A+

yes, i want to go there.

now, explain where the Bible came from? …
You really want to know?

Then try reading the post you quoted. It is in there.

If you are not willing to read my posts, do not waste my time bugging me to argue with you.

i read your posts. there was no answer there.

i am not arguing, i just asked you a question. i am waiting for the answer, no need to argue.

If you really want to know if St. Paul ever prayed the Rosary, you will find your answer in the following link.

newadvent.org/cathen/13184b.htm

If you came here just to denigrate The Catholic Church, go away.

If you are here to learn, welcome!

yes, you have the right to ask questions. no problem here.

now, can you answer my questions? i am ignorant, that is why i am asking you these questions.

It has been answered.

If you really want the answer to “explain where the Bible came from?” then you can find it in this post:
forums.catholic-questions.org/showpost.php?p=6296904&postcount=150
You quoted that post. Now read it. The answer is in there in no unambiguous terms.

Again, if you are not going to read my posts, please do not bother me to post for you. I do not like to write posts for people if they are not going to read them.

When all else fails, bring up the priest scandal. Typical tactic.

Maybe you should try reading some of this information.

or my personal favorite.

As far as “political”, you realize of course that Pat Robertson (protestant) ran for office right? How about Rev. Jesse Jackson?

Since your claims are proven wrong by the information I have provided, maybe you should do a little more research on all topics you are involved in. Just a thought.
