Just like the title says, what do you know about any of the Saints whom the Catholic or the Orthodox venerate? Whether stories or histories, what have you heard, what do you know about:
St. Joseph
Married Mary, earthly step father of Christ, Patron of the Church, Patron of Vatican Two, Patron of workers, Patron of unborn children, statues are buried outside homes for sale, his color is red, almost always on one side of the Altar at Church, Patron of Fathers
The Blessed Virgin Mother
Mother of Christ, Mother of the Church, Queen of Peace, Queen of the Angles, Queen of Heaven…shall I go on? Immaculate Conception and the Assumption are the two infailable (I spelled that wrong sorry) teachings of the Papacy, every Saturday is her feast day for the Church, color is blue, I gave her flowers at my wedding, the Rosary is a prayer that lays flowers at the feet of her
I’m assuming you mean of Assisi:
Founded the Order named for him. Was told to fix the church, thought it meant the local church, came to mean the whole church, was a reformer, a bad 60s movie was made about him, was rich, sold it all to do God’s work, received the Stigmata
Which one? One’s the saint of lost stuff and was a Franciscan, one was Egyptian and a hermit and I think there are a few more
The Dragon!!!
Founder of the Communal Monastic movement, his rule is followed by most if not all Monastic communities
I’m assuming you mean the guy that founded the Dominicans (there are more than one though). Was concerned with preaching and bringing back the Cathars to the fold.
Jumped in his mother’s womb when Mary came around. Lost his head. Many say the Knights Templar found his head. Dunked Jesus, Patron of the country of Jordan
which one? Wrote a gospel according to tradition if thats the one you’re talking about. Followed Peter
Wrote a gospel and Acts according to tradition, was a doctor, knew Greek Patron of doctors
They’re talking about taking him off the list of saints because they aren’t sure if he really carried Christ (which is what his name means) or if he was really real
Saw Mary at Lourdes and declared the Immaculate Conception
Was a captive brought to Ireland and came back to teach the people. Patron of Ireland, said to have driven out all the snakes
NOT A SAINT ANYMORE
Patron of Children in a pickle and sailors (I’m assuming you mean the Christmas one…there are more than one)
ect. No fair looking up any of these names online or in books or on the television or through any other media. The question struck me and so I am throwing it out to you, what do you know about any of the Saints, both Biblical and after?
So to be fair…I went to Catholic school
