and abcd,

Stop spreading lies calling the Catholic Church or Roman Catholic Church pagan is a lie. In the Catholic Church we only worship One God! Get your facts straight because you make such stupid claims!

I like the old days of the Roman Catholic church when it was black and white that all protestants were lost, period.
Of course you did. That way you could justify your own bigotry. Now you are clearly being called to repentance and conversion (not necessarily to Catholicism, but certainly to a more generous and charitable view of your fellow Christians).

I

Not really. Their presentation is poor. I give them an F.
It’s probably a good thing neither of us currently have the power to grade the other! However, I’m slow to give Fs except in the case of plagiarism. I’d probably give you a D or perhaps even a C-.

On the post where I copy and paste, I never claim them as my own. I cite my source.

I have been reading some of the things posted on this thread and I thought that I would say something here in response to this that abcd wrote.
I believe that the church is the body of Christ and His bride, because that is what the scriptures teach. The body of Christ can be found within the catholic church, the protestant church or somewhere else but is not bound to thease. Although they may be under bondage by the traditions of the church that are in opposition to scripture. They are the ones who know God through Jesus Christ by faith Their faith is inward and they are not relying on outward things for the salvation of their soul but totally on Jesus Christ Himself.

There are many catholics and protestants who are very devout and faithful and do keep the sacraments and obey the authority of the church but have never come to Know God through Jesus His son. They may know all about Him but they have never come to know Him personally. Thease people are lost and dont even know it or refuse to accept the truth and are continnually trying to find another way. I wish this was not true but I know that it is.

Once again, what does the Pagan Roman Catholic Church teach that is contradictory. A few facts may lend credence to your statements.
Again you misread what I said. Please read again. I said Catholics there are many contradictory beliefs among catholics

I did not say they were official teaching of the RCC.

Manny,

First of all, this is not a class and we’re not in fact grading each other. But in the second place, my point was that I wouldn’t give you an F if I were grading you, because I generally only give F’s for plagiarism. I was not accusing you of anything. Please relax.

This probably belongs on another thread, but how do you see them different?
Great question. The kingdom of God, first of all, preexists the church, because God is the eternal king, infinite, unchangeable Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, goodness, justice, power and love. From all eternity He exists as the One Living and True God in three persons of one substance, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory.

His kingdom is everlasting and from His throne, through his Son, His Eternal Word, God created upholds and governs all that exists: the heavenly places, the angelic hosts, the universe, the earth, every living thing, and mankind.

The church is only in the last category (no angels, animals, et al).

Now you are clearly being called to repentance and conversion (not necessarily to Catholicism, but certainly to a more generous and charitable view of your fellow Christians).

Excellent observation.

That goes for Protestants as well, some of your folks spread lies of the Catholic Church… calling it pagan… and it’s doctrine false.
Excellent observation. Although I don’t refer to them exclusively as “my folks.”

I embrace the whole body, and don’t see myself as an opponent of any.

Well, you already stated “matter of factly”

And then you add this.

It would be rather appropo if you’d list some examples.

Regarding the catholics of the Pagan Roman Catholic Church, what they believe is totally irrelevant. It’s what the Church teaches that makes Her the True Church.
The argument is akin to claiming that Catholicism can’t be true because there are those who do not believe in it. Because some baptized Catholics are not true to the Magisterium is proof only that we have work to do.

Christ’s peace

Well, it is certainly wrong to call it pagan and it’s wrong to suggest that ALL its teachings are false. Saying that those who say such things lie is problematic because lying implies willful mishandling of or denial of a known truth.

Will that do, Manny?

Unless of course you’re prepared to say that my church has no false teachings…

It teaches true and false doctrines, which I won’t get into because that is not the topic here. I’ll give you some, most Protestants (I’m not sure if your Church believes in this) do not believe in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, nor does your Church believe that Mary remain a Virgin before, during and after the birth of her only son. This is just a few.

Believe me, the Early Church believe those two core Christian belief. It is only a pity that only the Eastern Orthodox and the Catholic Church believe these beliefs to be true.

Jesus said, “…thou art Peter and upon this Rock I build my Church…”

That says it all. Christ still walked the earth while in his Ministry. He appeared to His Church after His Resurrection from the dead. This give the Church the title of “Bride of Christ” and we are her children.

It is HIS Church founded by HIM. There is no other that has that designation.
There is a standing misconception regarding this passage among Roman Catholics. The name “Peter” and the “rock” on which the church is to be founded are not the same. One is masculine while the other is feminine. In Greek it is necessary for the two terms to agree in gender and number. It is thus not upon Peter which the church is to be founded but rather upon his confession that

“You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

With respect to the perpetual virginity of Mary, as far as I am aware most Protestant churches have no official position on it. Members can believe it if they want to. It is not prohibitted but it is also not required. That being said there are many who are quite vocal that Mary did not remain a virgin.

How about Real Presence?

Amen and Amen John Calvin. Of course the RCC could never admit to this even though it is very clear in the scriptures because-------
