No s***. He was the local bishop (of Jerusalem). But Peter was the one who made the decision.Peter did. However in the first council of the church it was James who was in charge.
…I thought i had read from you and others that the church is Christ. When someone persecutes the church they are automatically persecuting Christ. I must have missunderstood.
It’s irrelavant, because infallible does not mean that he will be able to make the right answer, only that he will not make the wrong one (when, of course, Ex Cathedra criteria are met.)Was Peter speaking infallibly when he made is belief about Jesus being the Christ?
LOL, are you saying that Peter was defining a doctrine on Faith and morals, for all Christians for the rest of time to adhere to? LOL, you’re funny. Now we both know immediately after this he denies Christ. He was not just acting in oppostion to what he said but spoke falsely.
LOL, that’s funny. It’s when I started studying history that I left the bickering, fragmenting, multiplying, arguing, and heretical Protestantism of my youth. I found mature, true, and deep faith and theology in the ancient Churches, unlike the shallow things taught by the whining break-offs of the “reformation”.So long as you don’t look at the facts of history you will believe this. Once we look at the various facts in this regards we know this is not true.
Please tell me where the canon and *Sola Scriptura *are found in the Bible. If the doctrines are grounded in the Scriptures then you are correct. However it has been repeatedly shown this has not always been the case.
This is only the thousandth time I’ve refuted this self-refuting claim.
Is’nt this basically what Protestant pastors claim for themselves anyway? And besides, what qualifies these “pastors” to teach, preach, and celebrate the Sacraments? By going to seminary? By getting an A+ in theology? LOL, no. They have no connection to the Apostles (by laying on of hands, as in the Bible) and therefore have invalid Sacraments, and no more a right to teach in the Church’s name than any one of us laymen. It is one thing to be led truly by the HS and another to claim that all your teachers and leaders down the centuries have done so.
Pope Leo didn’t make some sort of infallible declaration, it was his personal acts. Apparently, you cannot distinguish and do not know Catholic theology well enough to understand. Papal infallibility has nothing to do with the personal acts of a Pope.Surely the pope and Tetzel thought they were being led by the HS and yet even catholics condemn them for what they did.
And as for Tetzel, well… he got away with it, because the Pope did not speak out against the abuses, as he should of. He did think he had te Holy Spirit-- just as many Protestant self-ordained “pastors” claim for themselves.
Or look your inquisitions. The same principle applies.
[QUOTENot the HS or Jesus are liars and weak but some of your leaders and teachers have been.

Yes, when they went against the Church’s infallible teachings, and thus were not speaking for the Church.
