Protestants, why are you not Catholic?

See this is how these threads always turn out. A poster creates a thread “Why_______” and people respond. The question was…“Protestant, why are you not Catholic” and we answered. Then it turns into My Church is right, your community is wrong…we have the fullness of faith and you do not…Catholic Church worship statues…no we do not…etc.

We go in circles over and over with neither party actually gaining anything but frustration.

🤷
Well, of course, it will, this is a debate forum. You are going to have people question the veracity of your beliefs. 🤷 The problem doesn’t result in disagreement so much as an unwillingness to actually debate.

You are most certainly welcome to question but going in a circle all day benefits us how?

If I believed as you…I would be Roman Catholic and not Anglican Catholic. 🙂

My responses to you had nothing to do with me being (a latin rite) Catholic, i.e., I used logic and scripture to question your beliefs. And you haven’t really responded to the actual points I made, i.e., how can a Church still be ONE if it is composed of different belief systems? And if the Church written in the Bible was ONE Church with ONE belief system, then what happened to this Church?

ok 🙂

I edited my post, so I’m not sure if you want to take a look at it again.
Josie I will say this and then I must tend to other things. When Rome and the East unit under ONE roof…I will be there. Until then, there is not ONE Church, nor ONE belief.

God Bless!

:ehh: So Jesus failed and God never sent the Holy Spirit? :ouch: Shoot! Finite creatures correcting God? Wow! Watch out!

I have seen others make this statement before as well. My question is this: if you will be there when Rome and the East re-unite, then you implicitly recognize that Rome and the East comprised the original church, yet you still remain a member of a third communion that is not in union with either one. How does Rome and the East being in schism with each other justify one in belonging to neither one of them?

Ok, this makes more sense (logically speaking), but in the words of the Terminator, “I’ll be back”. 😃

God bless!

I do not see Orthodoxy coming to unit as long as there is a Pope. 🤷

Why does a horse have to be beaten to death? The man believes what he believes.

I learned when I was young that if someone has a belief you disagree with prayer works wonders.

Prayer does work wonders (but who said we aren’t praying for unity), moreover, we can question what he believes to help him along the way, i.e., to get to the truth. If he wishes not to respond or leaves the thread that is his prerogative. God bless!

Questions? Appears:shrug: more like an inquisition 🤷

Josie I am very much happy and blessed where I am. I love the Episcopal Church and and the truth it teaches but I thank you for your love of your Church and neighbor. It is so nice to see a Christian fight for Christ!

You are much kinder than me. I need to work on my patience.

So you don’t mind so much if I question the reasons why you’re not Catholic, i.e., you know I’m not doing it for the sake of being annoying? God bless!
