**Protesters disrupt Olympic torch

TURIN (Reuters) - Hundreds of street protesters, denouncing the Winter Games, forced Olympic torch bearers to change route through the host city on Thursday on the eve of the opening ceremony.

Games organisers diverted the flame from the protest site after the demonstrators gathered on the planned route and police warned of possible harm to torch bearers or spectators.

What an absolute shame that these protestors are disrupting such a special event. I’ll bet the vast majority of Italians are displeased about this. Especially those on the “torch route”. They have probably been waiting and planning for this for months.

Probably, but I am wondering how far they are going to take it. Will they disrupt any of the events? With the morbid curiosity people have these days, this may just increase viewership just to see if anything happens.😦
