Shops and schools have closed in eastern India in an outpouring of anger and shock over the gang-rape of a 75-year-old nun.
Residents in the town of Ranaghat, some 50 miles from Kolkata (Calcutta), were appalled by the sister’s “inhuman torture” and have criticised police for failing to find the gang.
