People in the geographic “west” are white, have identified strongly as white, and the concept of “whiteness” was an important part of the ideology promoted in the “west” politically.
How can I put this generously? You just buried all the non white people to the ground, who worked hard in this world.

I’m not entirely sure what that means, but there is a world outside the west so I’m also not sure how that could be true.

This all came up because Trump, instead of just condemning white supremacist rhetoric, insisted on the name of a group to be criticized. Then later he said he didn’t know that much about them!

So the whole issue of if the Proud Boys are racist or now devolves to Trump’s reticence in criticizing white racism in general.

I believe he knew exactly who they are. Proud boys, stand back and stand by, this has become their new rally and recruitment pitch.
In my eyes, they are nothing but a bunch of misogynistic militia alt right bullies who only seek to intimidate and install fear in other groups they disagree with. The scariest thing is they all come armed to the teeth, like they are looking for an excuse to fire on someone. If Trump loses and refuses to leave, I pray they don’t try and take matters into their own hands, on his orders.

White supremacism is not an organization, it is an idea. The Proud Boys are an organization, not an idea.

I wonder how many of you saw the interview before commenting.
(Holds hand up.) Well, I have to admit I didn’t watch the whole thing. But I did watch most of it. Maybe I missed something, but I didn’t see where he said anything racist or white supremacist. He very pointedly condemned racism, white supremacism, anti-semitism. He’s not impressed with the media, I’ll say that. But then, neither am I.

You may have a point.

Christianity undergirds western societies although most westerners today will deny this.

The Philippines due to its Catholic heritage also is different culturally from other Asian nations.

Not necessarily. There are cultures And ways of life that are not just different, but better. Better for equality, better for morality, better for Catholicism. There are degrees of better or worse. Relativism doesn’t belong in history, politics, anthropology, or religion.

It’s not really something I want to waste my time with. I know who the Proud Boys are.

Did you watch the interview?
I dont think you will find a lot of people willing to set aside 11% of their day (16% of their waking hours) on watching the video. As Tim Pool is a person with which there are already strong opinions, and the Proud Boys are an entity for which there are strong opinions, one might find little incentive to motivate watching the video.

You might have more success with a discussion around a clip within the video from time marker A to time marker B than with the entire 2.5 hours.
