You missed the whole point, but then you do that alot…I will pary for you…Keep hitting people on the head with your big Bible…I will hold mine with reverence and use it to learn.

Got it you are the error correcter. I think not. you are so much in the dark its scary. just read the word of God without adding ANYTHING. The dogmas etc mean nothing to me…they are contrived of men. You have a Merry Christmas in London.

I know a zillion Catholics who never open their Bible, they were never taught to read the Bible and only heard Scripture at Mass.My husband was one of them and the church was preparing him to become a Priest. This was about 60 years ago.

What is wrong with you…I never tried to silence anyone. I am not being rude. I am responding to the moking and sarcasum that has been on this today. Not only are they making fun of others they add their little chubby’s to add to it. I do not like to be made fun of or see others made fun of and if you take this as rudness, it is not…it is rightous indignation. If you have a point to make great, but if I do not agree as you say I can do that. when I do disssagree, don’t come back with some snid remark becasue I will probably have something to say.

Tweetymom…I know exactly what you are saying because I was one of them to. The Bible was not meant for “us” to read. We were taught only through the Catechizm, and religion classes. The Bible was not a part of that. In fact at a hospital I went to, I went to speak to a priest on duty there…this was after I was saved…and he told me not to quote the Bible to him…exact words…

The Bible requires churches NOT to require celebacy.

You must remember you are dealing with a mental migit when you deal with me, so maybe you are correct about why I was hoping the thread was ending.:o
That is absolutely false. Nowhere does the Bible say the church can not require celibacy, nowhere.

Reading your Bible and allowing the Word of God to transform your heart are two very different things. It seems you do a lot of reading.

Here we are on Christmas day and you come on here and attack people. YOu spill your vile hatred on anyone that you come across. I am so sorry that you feel the need to do this, especially on Christmas. I hope and pray that you allow God to speak to you and that you can see how you are treating others.

Your probably right, thats the only thing your Bible has been used for…beating people over the head as you say becasue yours is bigger…good for you. :clapping:
Bet you didn’t even get the punchline of that phrase!

As for ‘quoting’ Scriptures to a priest…?! ** REALLY? ** …to a priest?!

How pompous can you get?!?
He was obviously too polite 'cause I would’ve given you directions to a cliff.

Merry Christmas, anyway. Stay safe.

Unmarried:
The Church is The Bride of Christ. Bishops, emulate Christ as persona Christi in their capacity as ‘priests’ offering the sacrifice.
  1. applies
  2. applies - one wife - The Church - God only - not The Church and a wife and family.
  3. applies
  4. applies - the flock in his diocese
  5. see ‘Married’
Married:
When Paul spoke, many Apostles were married, Pete included.
This does not contradict his epistle that being celibate is a ‘higher’ state to serve God, since all the energy, will and mind, are on serving God only…and not a wife and kids as well. The early Church, emulating the Apostles, had priests who married and had families.
  1. applies
  2. applies
  3. applies
  4. applies
  5. applies
Many centuries of this continued…but Paul’s words also allowed for a Pope to make the priesthood, celibate. Voila.

The two positions are ‘allowed’ in Scriptures so whatever the Pope decides is reliant on H.S Guidance. Currently, in general, it is celibacy.

Wow???

(Emboldened)
Because The Bible is a Catholic book and Catholics (The Church) understand what He meant. Since The Holy Spirit is God and He said One Son, it follows He meant One!

Since God does not use Arks that can be ‘violated’ afterwards, it again follows that His Choice of Ark was not ‘violated’ afterwards. Where God ‘has been’ is consecrated ground! - See Moses about a fuller explanation since you want everything from Scriptures.

I know stuff!..but not enough to be called knowledgable.

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. Don’t let it become you.

I’m still in the dark. No Scripture to link Mary and the Ark. No answering me directly.

No sarcasm; you act like a knowitall.

who are you to tell tweetymom that NO one has EVER said anything unkind to her…yes they have…many times … do you ever read these. She is a good person stating her beliefes and who are you to call her names or belittle her…If she identifies as a born again Catholic, Praise God…That is like a completed Jew…its great.
I agree, Leslie. Those guys should mind their own business and not God’s business.

You are correct that the Bible doesn’t say, ‘No church is to tell its leader they must be celebate.’ However, can you point to a verse that gives the church the right to demand celebacy of its leaders? I can point to verses that seems to encourage church leaders in their roles as husbands and fathers.

Please read Jesus’s words the Gospel written by St.Matthew19:12…and these are the type of men that the Church wants for it’s leaders…and you got a problem with that(wanting a church leader to be celbate)… i will be back in 2010 maybe.
