It’s fun to be on the side that is demonized.🙂

John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, **whom the Father will send **in My name, He will teach you all things, and **bring to your remembrance **all things **that I said **to you.
where did you get “demonized” from? Not one word of Christ in those passages refers to a demon.:confused:play the victim it always works…
In no way shape or form does the bible require the Church not to require celebacy…unless you mean you are the church. then what i stated is true, you are telling us that Christ is not here but over there.

I never said the Bible says he MUST be a married man. The CC says they CANNOT be married which is obviously different than the teaching in the Bible.

Maybe you haven’t meet too many, then. How about Billy Graham’s son Frank. Look how he turned out even after straying quite far from God. God is faithful.
you are too funny if Frank had been following his father then there would be no straying

Tell that to the father of the prodical. BTW, tell it to Jesus who told us the story about the prodical.

Jesus also told us the parable about the two servants (actually I think they were sons). The first said he’d go and did not. The second said he would not go and did. Which one was the obedient one? Is Franklin Graham an obedient son now?

Wasn’t it you who quoted the verse where Jesus warned people not to follow anyone who says he is the christ and that person is an anti-christ.

Then it seemed you questioned what Christ some of us are listening to. If so, you are either demonizing us or the Jesus we try to listen to. Which is it?

I said I wouldn’t post for a few days - I’ve been reading through some threads and I gotta tell you that after reading the above statements - I stopped dead in my tracks - my stomach turned.

I am going to contact the moderator of this forum and ask to have my name removed. I do not want my good name or good intentions to be part of a forum or thread that tears people apart and would even slightly suggest that any Christian here would even slightly suggest or imply that any one of us thinks God is a rapist, pimp, or uses woman. Seriously, there are tears in my eyes at reading these words. You have gone too far. Stooped to a level that is below decency.

My God forgive me for being a part of this foolishness.
Matey, you do whatever you need to do to arrest your line of questioning and extend your thinking process to include what your query ‘suggests and implies’… before you post!

You’ve argued the point that Mary and Joseph had marital knowledge of each other, as though they were ‘ordinary’ folk! You even exclaimed, “Get real!”…when many have tried to point out that NOWHERE in Holy Writ does it say they consumated their marriage to suit your understanding!

The Holy Family transcend us all in example and life! They were obedient to God, Jewish Law and Custom, almost to the point of supernatural! Just because you cannot comprehend how any human can abstain from ‘normal’ marital behaviour does not give licence to drag the Holy Family through the mud of protestant thought!

That said, Jars, you aren’t alone. At least three others here, through their posts, SUGGEST and IMPLY that Mary and Joseph had marital knowledge of each other AFTER The Christ was born! Completely ignoring the ramifications of such a suggestion, and totally oblivious to the implications of such! There is a reason Holy Writ does not specifically say the Holy Family behaved as such; because they did not!

Genuine or superflous, to stop in your tracks, is a good thing. Inquiry is one thing. But to persist in a vein of thought that blends blasphemy and sacrilegious implications with the query is not easy for Catholics to stomach, let alone address charitably.

Please be mindful that the things of God requires piety of the Nth degree and stretches human understanding to almost the supernatural: not dragged back to within fallible brain levels and treated according to 21st century obstinance.

As you may see, Dokimas, has ‘glossed’ over to a different issue, without so much as a ‘whoops’ on the other issues he argued; *Christ has siblings from His Mum; Mary did not remain a Virgin after His birth *and Joseph and Mary did ‘know’ each other. Now he’s on to celibacy of the clergy…and so on.

After you wipe the tears from your eyes, Have a Blessed Christmas and you and yours, live always in the shade of His Loving arms.

**
It’s a glorious Christmas Day in Auckland, Aotearoa. I’m off to Mass, again.

The beauty of Mary and Joseph was that they were ordinary and that God made them special. There’s no sin in being ordinary made special by our Creator.

Mr Thinking You Know It All,
I’d love to continue any dialogue with you on any subject as long as you let me answer with my understanding of the Bible and I’ll do my best to back my understandings with the Bible Itself.

As for jumping from one subject to another, I think if you do a little looking, you’ll see I go where the conversation goes and make comments on people’s comments trying to back my opinion with the Bible.

Teach, me, oh knowledgable one … God the Father said of God the Son that He (Jesus) was His ONLY Begotten Son. Correct? The Holy Spirit inspired Matthew to write that Jesus was Mary’s firstborn. Correct? Why didn’t the Holy Spirit say that Jesus was Mary’s only Begotten Son, especially seeing as Mary is the Spouse of the Holy Spirit as I learned today or yesterday from a catholic on this board?

The verses being refered make no mention of anti-christ…St.Matthew 24:24 “for false christs …”
notice the pural…

There are many protesants that will disagree with your beleifs, yet at the same time claim to be led ,personally, by the same Christ as you are…

Matey? I’m not your “matey.”

Where I come from sir or madam we do not speak to people in the manner that you have here. To discuss our beliefs is one thing. What you did is quite another. To even suggest that another Christian would infer what you about my God as did in your posting (which I will not repeat here) is insulting and degrading.

I have reported you and your posting to the forum moderator and I’ve asked to have my good name removed from this forum.

or I don’t see that the CC is the recipient of some of the promises you think it has received.
Granted there are many individuals who have not inherited the promises He gave to the Church. However, since the Church herself is infallible, and this is one of His gifts, the failure of the fallible men attached to her cannot be laid at her feet. The gifts and the call of God are irrevocable. They have been given, whether those to whom they were given receive them or not. God does not withdraw the Gift.
We are speaking of the Friday meat fast: once a sin to eat; then the rules change.
Disobedience is a sin.

Look at it this way. During the Jerusalem Council, the Apostles made some rules for the Gentiles, so that they could eat and have the Lord’s Supper with the Jews without causing a scandal. They did not hold Gentiles to the Jewish dietary laws. However, the rules that they applied are no longer used today (in fact, we have no way of knowing if any of our meat was offered to idols, and some people eat blood pie!). These are pastoral and disciplinary rules that change with time and culture. Such is the Friday fasting.

Another example of rules that change is the hair styles of men and women, and the covering of the head with a veil. These are not doctrines, which cannot change, but customs.

Never will, never happen.
It is very curious that you wish to publicly identify with a faith you reject.

One has to wonder what need in you is met by representing yourself falsely in this way.
Catholics aren’t born again?
Yes, that is why it is helpful that you describe yourself as “born again Catholic”. It advertises the fact that you reject the Teaching of the Apostles preserved in the Catholic Church. It signals the reader that you are not truly Catholic, but only pretending.

I know that I am on ignore but I am not trying to cause division. I only state born again because it happened to me, I have no intention here except Jesus.
This stated intention does not really make sense, Tweety. How is Jesus glorified by you misrepresenting yourself?

Why come to a Catholic forum when you reject the Catholic Teachings?

Why not use one of the many anti-Catholic fora available?

It seems, perhaps, that there is another reason you might be here.

I regret you feel vindictive when the implications of your line of persistence is pointed out to you.

I regret also that you focus on being slighted and having your character bruised but have liitle regard for the blasphemous and sacrilegious implications of your queries, especially when answered and you continued.

If you have the opportunity to relook over the posts I call into question, from you and others here, you may see for yourself WHO it is that is really being insulted!!

Unfortunately, you’ll probably cite this encounter as being why you refuse to come Home.

Go in peace, Matey. Calm your heart and consider.

Teach me. Show me the context you are speaking about that reveals the bishop’s wife is the church. Then help me in my confusion. Didn’t Paul say he tried to marry us to the Lord? Isn’t the church married to the Lord? How can the church also be married to the bishop? How many husbands does the church have?

1 Timothy 3:
1 ¶ This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work.
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach;
3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence
5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?);

verse 2 we see a bishop having 1 wife.
verse 4 the bishop needs to be able to rule his household
verse 5 if the bishop can’t rule his household, how can he take care of the church

Please explain.
Unmarried:
The Church is The Bride of Christ. Bishops, emulate Christ as persona Christi in their capacity as ‘priests’ offering the sacrifice.
  1. applies
  2. applies - one wife - The Church - God only - not The Church and a wife and family.
  3. applies
  4. applies - the flock in his diocese
  5. see ‘Married’
Married:
When Paul spoke, many Apostles were married, Pete included.
This does not contradict his epistle that being celibate is a ‘higher’ state to serve God, since all the energy, will and mind, are on serving God only…and not a wife and kids as well. The early Church, emulating the Apostles, had priests who married and had families.
  1. applies
  2. applies
  3. applies
  4. applies
  5. applies
Many centuries of this continued…but Paul’s words also allowed for a Pope to make the priesthood, celibate. Voila.

The two positions are ‘allowed’ in Scriptures so whatever the Pope decides is reliant on H.S Guidance. Currently, in general, it is celibacy.

I meant that you are not the judg:thumbsup:e of me. Jesus did not die and leave you in charge. We are to study to show ourselves approved, and Jesus is in charge of me.
Indeed no one here can be the judge of you, Tweety. We can only observe your actions as hypocritcal and a poor witness.

We do commend your soul to God, and those of us that are holding you up in prayer will pray that Jesus, who is in charge of you, will continue to lead you to the pillar and bulwark of the Truth.

(Emboldened)
Because The Bible is a Catholic book and Catholics (The Church) understand what He meant. Since The Holy Spirit is God and He said One Son, it follows He meant One!

Since God does not use Arks that can be ‘violated’ afterwards, it again follows that His Choice of Ark was not ‘violated’ afterwards. Where God ‘has been’ is consecrated ground! - See Moses about a fuller explanation since you want everything from Scriptures.

I know stuff!..but not enough to be called knowledgable.

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. Don’t let it become you.

I was asking the poster a question not making a statement. And the way you post it signals a lot to others too.

:rotfl::rotfl:

OhmyGOSH, that is the best line I’ve seen in my many years here at the CAFs!!
Your probably right, thats the only thing your Bible has been used for…beating people over the head as you say becasue yours is bigger…good for you. :clapping:

who are you to tell tweetymom that NO one has EVER said anything unkind to her…yes they have…many times … do you ever read these. She is a good person stating her beliefes and who are you to call her names or belittle her…If she identifies as a born again Catholic, Praise God…That is like a completed Jew…its great.
