You have NO idea if tweetymom is in sin or not…You are selfrighteous and a poor jugde.
Well, we do have some ideas. Although what you say is true, and only God can judge the heart, what is clear is that she claims to be something she is not. She may be doing this in ignorance, though I must say, over a dozen Catholics have vigorously informed her here that one who persistently repudiates the teachings of the Church is no longer Catholic.

We do know that she disingenously represents herself to be Catholic at the same time she strongly opposes the doctrine of the Church.

One has to wonder what benefit she gets out of claiming to be something she is not. 🤷

And you know the truth because? Someone in the church told you so?
Yes. The Church is the pillar and the bulwark of the Truth, and through her I came to the knowledge of the One who is Truth. Through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross, I was graced to become a member of His One Body, the Church. There is no other name under heaven by which we may be saved.
Always and still am. I choose not to be brainwashed, not saying you are just I choose not to be. Oh and by the way reply to Izoid that he is being reported to the moderators for his judgmental and calling me a sinner.
People who have been victimized in childhood have a very difficult time with authority. When the persons in authority over you abuse that authority by using it for hurtful reasons then trust is broken. Brainwashing is often part of the cycle of abuse, so that the victim learns that going along with the authority results in more hurt. For such individuals it requires a great deal of healing to learn to submit to authority.

It is regrettable that you perceive the authority of the Catholic Church as “brainwashing”, however, given your history, it is not surprising. It is also very odd that you would choose to associate yourself with a group that teaches us persons in doing what you do are in a state of mortal sin. It almost seems like you have succumbed to that “brainwashing” by claiming to be Catholic.

Oh really then everyone who does not abide 100% in the church is a sinner?
Yes, but it is a matter of degree. A person can fail to follow the Teachings of Jesus because they are ignorant. They may engage in a grave evil, but not do so intentionally.

A person may understand why something is wrong, then deliberately choose to ignore the teaching, which is a much more serious situation.

In your case, the issue lies in the fact that you state you are “Catholic”. By stating this about yourself, you are making a public announcement that you are in communion with the Catholic Church (obedient to all her teachings). Yet your posts and your testimony indicate the opposite.
And the same verses could mean you and the CC?
Tweety, beloved sister in Christ, if you believe that Catholics and the Catholic Church are teaching a gospel that has departed from what the Apostles delivered, why would you want to claim to be affiliated?

no I really did like the chubbies…🙂 I am sorry we disagee with the matter of the church, but I would give my life if necessary for Him…It is harder to live for Him though and that is what He expects and wants from us all.
Have you ever considered that He is calling you to give your life to the Church He founded?

What is you were called to live in unity with those who were appointed by the Apostles? Would you be willing to give your life for Him that way?

After the birth of Christ, Mary and Joseph were "Ordinary Folk’ They had a mission and did it. It is Very clear in scripture that they did knoweach other in the gospel of Matthew 1:25, but you will not recognise what is there. so its , as the word says, casting pearls before swine, which is also in the Word. I at this point do not care if you belive the scripture or not. I think it is a shame that you could drive a very caring person off the forum. Jar of Clay only wanted ot make some points. I hve not read all of the sights that she/ he has read, but containing the wordage that was shown is discusting. You have scales on your eyes.

Dealing with your first paragraph…

Before you and I were born, Christians knew, believed and accepted that Mary remained a virgin throughout her life! Now, we have Christians who say that she wasn’t! I hold with the original Christians and can see in Scriptures that what they passed onto us is corroborated in the pages…if you understood what the passages actually say and mean!

But you argue that she wasn’t! Are you a different Christian than me?! You say my position is wrong! So along with all of Christianity before you were born, WE ARE WRONG?!?! Such obstinance!

It is fine to argue from your vantage and say some blasphemous things about Jesus Christ’s mother…since you do not fully understand the passages of Scriptures. This will grow with further reading and research.

But to continually argue and then say Mary and Joseph were ordinary folk AFTER the Christ was born?!! What you are implying is that God USED Mary as a surrogate mother or cocoon, and then ‘returned’ her to Joseph, WHO IS HER HUSBAND!?

What does that make God?!
Do you think He condones extramarital sex?..outside marriage?..if you have the power?!..with another man’s wife!?! Do you think He takes any woman for His purposes and then ‘discard’ her like cattle??

Do you not see how insulting that is of Him?..His Mother?..Saint Joseph?!..and the Holy Spirit?

Blasphemous and sacrilegious!

Leslie Polley;6095693:
Jar of Clay, I hope you reconsider…God bless
By the way, we do not SUGGESTor IMPLY, we state it as FACT from the Bible. It couln’t be more clear. And how did they transsend us in their life…Not one word other than losing Jesus when He was twelve was mentioned about them…the death of Joseph is not even mentioned, nor is the death of Mary…We know Joseph was a carpenter, and Mary was a mother…if they were so far above us all why are they ignored. Mary only comes to lite again when Jesus turns water into wine and he repremands her because it was not His time, and never did another thing that she asked, at least that was important. She and His brothers wanted to come in and see him in Mk.3:31-35. He did not say oh, get out of the way and let my mother in, it doesn’t even say He let her in…or His brothers. You raised Mary to the level she is at now Christ certainly did not, and I doubt that she herself if pleased.
With you second paragraph…

You prefer that we be nice to people and let them level insults at The Church, being the body of Christ,… God?!..His Mother?!.. His Holy Family?!

You do not see it, but you are doing the same. You are insulting Our Lord and His family by ‘supposing’ your views into the texts. I would advise you read and study Holy Writ properly to see ‘the insults’ you’re implying…before you even touch the passages of The Wedding in Canaan. The whole world is in that wedding!..and you don’t even see it!

Up there (paragraph 1) you seem to suggest that you’ve cast your pearls before swine. I can live with being taken as ‘swine’ because it isn’t about me! I have to tell you though that they may look like ‘pearls’ to you when you cast them…but from here, they look like spittle and they’re stainning the pavement!

Whether deliberate of out of ignorance, it pains us when people insult Our Lord and His Holy Family! But He commissioned His Church to proclaim The Good News, and our first Pope ‘taught’ us to be charitable with enquirers of our faith!

That is why this thread has lasted this long and CAF is littered with similar threads over and over and over and…

Today is the Feast Day of The Holy Family. May it bring some humility to illuminate matters for us all to see clearly.

Thank you for your kind and yet firm post of the Truth. May Mary, the Spouse of the HS pray for all those who disparage the great spiritual Truth of the Holy Family today.

There are very few comments that could be further from the truth as these comments are.

If Mary was the wife of Joseph and the spouse of Holy Spirit, what does that say about the position of you and Guan? Seems bizzar to me.

You go from insult to speaking of being charitable. These paragraphs are oximoronic in content.

Forgive me Dokimas, But our faith in the Holy Family has been told to you over and over again, you do not accept it, you have not rec’d the truth of it in your heart, the faith for it for some reason has not been revealed to you as yet.May I suggest to you what I ask of my children when they are dealing with doubt or other troubling things, "Lift it up for enlightenment’! :)God bless you in your prayer, and Father, enlighten us all to your complete Truth! Amen:)Carlan

I appreciate your concern for me. I’m not sure that it’s well placed but it is, no doubt, sincere.

I have spoken to a number of Mormons over the yrs. Often they pretty much start with James 1:5. They read it and said they went into prayer and asked their heavenly father for wisdom. Their heavenly father told them, in prayer, that Joseph Smith was correct.

Yet you ,Leslie and tweetymom. have your prayers answered correctly.God told you that the Catholic Church is wrong.

Going back to what my opinion of what Christ said" those whom say no,he is over here… for there shall come many false christs.Did not Christ say whatso ever is not the full truth isn’t the truth?

Yes God has always answered my prayers correctly. Sometimes I do not like the answers but in time I see why God said no.And why He says yes.

And the full truth according to whom?

Are you believing we teach a false christ? If not, what shall we take from your words to us. Please be direct so we don’t have to interpret your meaning.

Well what would you call a teaching that does not come from Christ? As a group your teaching on Mary, celbacy, birth control and such do not come from Christ but from your own claims.

And we get accused of trying to tear down your ‘faith’.?.!!! We get called anti-catholic.?.!!! You are at least equally willing to tear down and be anti… With one side of your mouth you’ll excuse yourself by saying you love us and care because we believe something that is a lie. With the other side of your mouth, when we say we sare because we love you, you call us teachers of false teachings.

I think it was Kevin that said that we should agree to disagree. A response to that comment by a catholice was that that was a cop-out.

I don’t think it is a cop out. The purpose of the forum is to discuss and compare beliefs and differences. There are no requirements here that we conform to one another’s perceptions. If we are able to respectfully explore our differences, then at least we know, when we do agree to disagree, that we are doing so accurately, instead of based upon misperceptions.

I don’t think that accusing one another is really going to benefit the discussion much. I know a lot of us fall into it at one time or another. We are all passionate about our faith, and sometimes, when defending our faith we stray from the Apostolic command to do so with kindness and gentleness.

Today is the feast of the Holy Family. Let us bask in the peace that was present as the Bread of Life lay in the manger, on his way to feed a hungry world.

You call a teaching that does not come from Christ tearing down your faith.I suggest you better investigate what your being taught then.
