All humans are sexual beings, they have this need. God made us all sexual beings, if its not one form of sex, its another, very few can contain themselves. God knows man is weak in this area. It`s a strong desire to fight, & most do not win the fight, & it does have some health benefits, in fact, quite a few. I do not condone teens & even younger having sex

*There’s a number of reasons for the longer life span…they grew their own food, worked outside a lot, walked everywhere…just a completely different lifestyle than we live today, with fast foods, driving everywhere, working in offices and cubes all day…man wasn’t meant to be confined all day, eating processed foods. I think that has more to do with it, than sex. But, that being said, sex was purer, and people lived chaste lives for the most part, until marriage. I think overall, the values and morals of our ancestors governed their everyday lives, and thus they lived longer. Not sure if they were always happy though–many of my ancestors had it hard. I think every generation can look at the previous one, and think they did it better or something…

I dont know how to take that, LOL! Yes, age sneaks up quick, your busy with your life, going along day by day & then one day You say, holy moly I am 70, at times it seems impossible to believe I am that age, but I am! We will all be 70 one day , if we live long enuff to see it:)& Oh its true, growing old is not for the fainthearted

God is quite clear on this matter and he would never ask us to do the impossible. It is hard, I agree but not impossible.
 
Haven’t read all of the posts, but this does not surprise me in the least coming from the UK. I read recently on Zenit.org that Britain is basically a de-Christianized nation.

Every generation puts up with more sexual pressure. If there is one thing that isn’t liberating, brave or educational it would be even more sexual pressure at an even younger age. Poor youth. Poor future. 😦
 
It’s premarital sex, and it won’t be good to one’s life. your dignity will decrease a lot of points. It’s humiliating and immoral.

I completely agree. I allowed myself to get involved in a bad relationship then allowed myself to be taken advantage of within that relationship. While the actual sex wasn’t my choice, if I hadn’t allowed myself to be placed in a dangerous situation it never would have happened. As a result, I am now a single parent receiving little to no support from anyone.

I haven’t been in a sexual relationship in more than 3 years (since my daughter was conceived) and I can honestly say that I haven’t felt healthier or safer. That being said, I’m so tired of being treated like a freak by people my own age (I’m late twenties). Some times I wish I could send my daughter to live with them for a few days so they could get a taste of real life. The pressure that young people, even middle aged people receive to participate in something so harmful is appalling! I know a beautiful, sweet, darling young woman who has had no less than forty-five sexual partners!!! :eek: That this is socially accepted is simply appalling. 😦

Yes, I realize what the Church teaches, But I also know what human nature is doing, its all around us , more than 50% of babies born out of wedlock, millions of abortions every yr, so people are having sex no matter who says what.Look at the news & see people in high rank government married, but having a mistress on the side. There are a few who can fully abide by the teachings of the Church, but not many, thats why I say God knows man is weak, That is the Reason he sent his Son Jesus to redeem us, to atone for the sins of all mankind. God knew man would need a savior. Did You know that God wills all conceptions, even among the unmarried, so when I heard that, from my Priest, I began to think, where is the sin, if God wills these conceptions
 
Oh brother. Now our schools are encouraging students to have premarital sex. :mad: How disgusting!

The out of wedlock pregnancy rate is “only” about 41% overall, but 70% among some minority communities. It may be true now that “there are few who can fully abide by the teachings of the Curch,” but it was not so only a generation or two ago, when out of wedlock pregnancy rates were much lower, and most couples got married, and stayed married, then had kids.

The new way of doing things–i.e. with an unmarried mom and dad, or a mom only, or a dad only, results in a disservice to children, and bespeaks a breakdown in not just social norms but in social stability. When families disintegrate, so do civilizations.

Hopefully they won’t be given out in Catholic schools and one reason to send your children to Catholic education. They’re all as mad as hatters. Teenagers are taking morning after pills left right and centre and having abortions because of sex culture. We’ve also got the highest teenage pregnancy rate in Europe in the UK last I heard.
 
I remember I was on a weekend retreat many years ago when I was very young and the Priest asked this Question.

If you are having sexual Intercourse and you are not married and you die at that moment where do you think you will spend all eternity?

I am sorry but you have it all wrong. Just because humans make mistakes does not mean God wills that the sin happened. You need some philosophy for this. God does not will the couple to sin. He wills for free will and allows the effects. Pre-marital sex is a sin, period. Do not have this loose notion that because Jesus came, everyone is going to heaven. The second you downplay sin, is the moment you allow it to enter into your life.
 
The other day I was studying with a group of classmates and one of the guys that sits at my lab table mentioned a debate everyone was having before I arrived. He said they were arguing about having sex and cohabiting before marriage. His argument FOR having sex outside was this: “It’s like getting a new car, you gotta try it out before you buy it ya know?”

:mad:How degrading, selfish and just plain sick is that? Thanks to sin, so many of us are brainwashed to think sex is everything. Evil causes us to treat our brothers and sisters like toys that are only there for our own gratification. Makes me want to punch the devil right in the face.

In reality sex (the sinful kind) leaves you cold and broken. It wont make these teens happier OR healthier. I fear for the families who continue to buy into these lies. I hope to God my son will choose a healthy, dignified path.

I am taking Microbiology this summer and especially after learning about all those nasty diseases that are caused by STI’s, it’s NO WONDER why our dear St. Paul warned us to “flee from sexual sin!” What those little critters do to a person’s body is scary.

It seems to me that as we grow, there are different stages of life that we have to go through, people are sexual beings, its easy to get involved, in fact too easy, its a tough fight that most dont win or really they dont want to win. The Church is spiritual, we are weak humans here on earth , easily tempted, it seems to me , it`s just normal things we go through. All God asks is that we try, even though we fail most of the time, Look at men & the way they are made, watch their actions, man is basically an animal when it comes to sex, just my take, & yes, I usually do have everything all wrong
