Many Republican Catholics will accept the Church’s stance on abortion, but will gladly condone children being separated from their parents.
Wait a minute. I’m conservative (though not a declared Republican), and I condone the separation of children from their parents (WHEN THEY ARE ILLEGALLY TRYING TO CROSS THE BORDER). What do liberals think, we should keep the children together with their parents in adult detention centers with criminals, sex offenders, thugs, drug dealers, prostitutes, etc. etc.?) Not every illegal alien is some poor downtrodden grandmother just trying to come find a safe place to bake cookies for the ninos and the bambinos. Separating children in this situation is the better option. It will be interesting when the children are not separated and some 5 year old little girl is raped in an adult detention center by some drooling pervert trying to come to our shores for succor and mercy. Oh I can hear the libs crying in their soup over this one.

That situation is a nightmare. No one has a really good answer short of sending them all back where they came from. Then again, Hillary and Nancy and Charlie believe that conservatives have plenty of money with which they can pay for Hillary and Nancy, and Charlie’s pity and compassion. Problem, they will just keep on coming if things stay as they have been for decades, and sooner or later Hillary, Nancy, and Charlie will run out of other people’s money with which to salve their consciences.

I so agree! It is easy for all the progressive s to spend other people’s money. Maybe Nancy,Hillary Chuck and George Clooney should have them move in with them.

It troubles me to say the following.

What concerns me from certain of the US Bishops was their silence as the Obama administration placed it boot on the throat of the Little sisters of the Poor. Their substantial silence on various state “same sex marriage” issues - including in my home state. Their relative silence and/or meek opposition to many moral issues as well as their vociferous current opposition to current long-settled federal law (also applied by the Obama administration).

Strangely, much of this seems to have flown under the radar during the Obama administration and has now visibly and vocally surfaced during the Trump administration.

Now, I could be delusional, but to me it appears to be selective outrage.

“Possibly” politically motivated.

Thus, I offer daily prayer for the hierarchy.

I just wonder where was all this commotion when the previous administration redefined marriage thereby denying children the right to a mother and father.

Remembering that the first decision of the assembled Apostles was to abandon Jesus and run away.

Their individual dignity and the dignity of their office remains untouched, but they do need the grace of courage to oppose this world consistently. The winds of societal change are a strong external force, but the Holy Spirit is a stronger internal force.
