Firstly I would like to state, that theologically I do disagree in many areas with the religion of Islam however, we, (both Christians and Muslims) have to in my opinion put things into perspective before we divide ourselves. Is it not true that we live in a world where abortion is seen as another type of birth control, where humans of all ages practice sexual infidelity, where every 3 seconds a child of God dies of the worlds most curable killer- poverty, where pollution is ecologically destroying the planet that we live on, where Western/Eastern Governments led by so called Christians/Muslims invest mega sums of money into the development of Weapons of Mass destruction which can only destroy and never restore humanity. Where kids turn to alcoholism and sticking needles in their arms as a way of escaping social reality, where unemployment reduces man to the state of idleness and helps to erode his personal dignity, where pornography of all levels leeches itself into the minds of the venerable, breeding lust and idolatry which can only be described as the love of the devil. Is it not true that whether Christian or Muslim these things have to be deplored?
I can soundly sleep at night knowing that someone down the road believes in Allah and the Koran, but I might have a problem sleeping if I realised that all the above are a reality. The problems of society are far to grave for us to divide along theological lines., because as soon as we divide all of the above will continue to develop. Whether Muslim or Christian , a world where people have mulitple homes where some go homeless is wrong, a world where people waste food in abundence when others go starving is wrong, a world where it is just as easy for a female to remove a tooth from her body as a human life is wrong.
We must remember as Christians, that whatsoever, we do to the least of our brothers, that we do unto our saviour as well. So I would rather join with my Muslim brothers and sisters and fight the evils of poverty, abortion, war, racism, atheism etc than be bogged down in a theological debate, where there will be no winner other than contempt and hate and all the evils above will continue to grow from it.
