Your question came across as honest.
I prefer to address the prayer to the situation also. However, some people are less comfortable with finding the words.
Nevertheless, they do act on the knowledge that some 'formula prayers are perfect if we really think about what we are praying.
The Lord’s prayer, composed by Jesus, enables us to honor God, to pray for His will and the spread of His kingdom of love and truth;
it includes prayers for temporal needs , (the meaning of 'give us this day our daily bread = daily needs). It concludes with intercession for spiritual needs and for spiritual protection.
The Lord’s Prayer is prayed in the plural “our” so that we are not just praying for ourselves, but also for others.
The Hail Mary, which many often also use, is a prayer of thanks to God for this wonderful intercessor and the gifts God has given to and through her; and asks Mary’s intercession for our daily needs, and our final salvation…again in the plural.
May God bless you and your loved ones, today and always,
Trishie
