But, the Monarch is head of the Church of England. She would just be bringing it back into union with Rome. She could just tell Parliament to sod off.
She’s not the supreme “head” of the church in England as Henry Tudor claimed himself - she is however the ‘supreme governor’ of the church in England, as really does not claim any ecclesiastical authority over the Anglican church - I’m not sure that she feels it’s a queen’s proper place to assume the role that is historically and canonically for males (even if Anglicanism broke this rule.) She really does not have that much authority even in parliament - the house would likely never permit such a drastic move on her part as the British monarch is no longer an ‘absolute’ monarch.

The English crown is facing some pressure on its relations with Catholicism. Catholics actually passed the number of Anglicans in England recently.
As far as I am concerned, that pretty much says it all. I have always considered high Anglicans to be very close to Catholics anyway. I once accidentally sat through an Anglican Mass in England thinking I had entered a Catholic Church. 😉

This is not terribly accurate, despite its continued popularity as a theory. the King did not begin a new Church. He removed the English Catholic church from the authority of the Pope. The church was the same, though reforms to it were to come.
I am glad to hear this. I am sure that More and Fisher will be reassured as well.
