Todd White reminds me of the millenials’ Benny Hinn in that he emphasizes healings in large groups. I went with a physician who said that it’s dangerous for people to stop taking lifesaving medications because they were “healed.”
He has bought the ministries of other people, which I think were their mailing lists, trademarks and relationships/contracts.
I have seen him speak live and on video, but that was years ago when I wasn’t very careful about who I listened to. He knows enough about persuasion to gently shake people’s faith in what they started with and imply that he agrees with them. Then he leads the group down a path where he is the best teacher.
If there is a teacher affiliated with him, it’s because they are running the same sort of business. Yes, their ministries are businesses selling recordings, music and enrollment in “schools.” Essentially they are information products businesses. People willingly buy because they are in the feeling.
I have learned since then that these are people with gifts who reject Sacred Tradition and use the powers of preternatural entities to lead people astray by appearing to be close to the Holy Spirit.
What beliefs do you have about what the Church is?
