What information can the forum give me about either of these men? A good friend of mine wants me to listen to Mohler, and there seems to be a connection between him and White. So what can you tell me?

And apologies: MohleR, not MohleT.

@camoderator

I request that my query thread be moved to the non-Catholic forum, on the ground that it’s more appropriate for that forum than the casual forum.

I don’t know much about them except that they appear to be on the fringes of the charismatic movement. They seem to place a big emphasis on signs, wonders, healings and other miracles.

“Fringe” charismatics? Well, that’s a start. Thanks.

Rather, invite the friend to listen to Fr. Mitch Pacwa, Fr. Wade Menezes, Fr. Larry Richards and other “charismatic” Catholic speakers.

Too much fringe and risk of occult in those very unorthodox men.

Thats new heh , had to google it. I meant the new apostolic reformation .

I’ve watched several of Dan Mohler’s videos and found them very inspiring and biblically accurate. His focus is on holiness and right living through grace not ones efforts. I’m not catholic.

I grew to not like the term “biblical” anymore . Anyone could quote from the bible and call it biblically accurate because it was lifted from the bible.

Accurate quotation and accurate interpretation are not the same thing. Still, if someone says “this is biblical” it shouldn’t count against them.

Dan Mohler is wide open speaker. Have seen quite a few of his videos. No tongues. No snakes. Talks about praying alot. Talks about miracles alot. I researched him a good deal. He is above board. He is humble and loving. Stays poor. He reminds me of a generous slightly kooky grandmother. Big smiles. He might grate on your nerves if loud emotional speakers bother you. Todd White is another thing all together. He loves attention, and money. He has a mansion. He rubs me wrong, like he has a different spirit.

@CantWeAllGetAlong What do you think of his take on the divinity of Christ? I dont understand how God allows him to perform miracles with his theory.

I don’t know what to tell you, my friend. You have to listen for yourself and discern what is true or not true in his rambling sermons. He is definitely wacky, and much of his Biblical hermeneutic is Pentecostal where I am not. But I am open to the possibility that God might be working through believers today in ways that I don’t yet understand, that don’t fit in my current theological box.

Thats a very humble take. Maybe i have not reached your level of understanding , because if God is truth and these men are soooo close to God , how is it that their truth can contradict the wisdom of the church. But hey , maybe you are right , that God in his infinite mercy does not care about theological savyness and more about the heart of the person . Using them to build his kingdom .

Todd White reminds me of the millenials’ Benny Hinn in that he emphasizes healings in large groups. I went with a physician who said that it’s dangerous for people to stop taking lifesaving medications because they were “healed.”

He has bought the ministries of other people, which I think were their mailing lists, trademarks and relationships/contracts.

I have seen him speak live and on video, but that was years ago when I wasn’t very careful about who I listened to. He knows enough about persuasion to gently shake people’s faith in what they started with and imply that he agrees with them. Then he leads the group down a path where he is the best teacher.

If there is a teacher affiliated with him, it’s because they are running the same sort of business. Yes, their ministries are businesses selling recordings, music and enrollment in “schools.” Essentially they are information products businesses. People willingly buy because they are in the feeling.

I have learned since then that these are people with gifts who reject Sacred Tradition and use the powers of preternatural entities to lead people astray by appearing to be close to the Holy Spirit.

What beliefs do you have about what the Church is?

something that struck me recently is this , if the holy spirit is truly at work , how is it that this " holy spirit" doesn’t prompt them to give the blessed mother her proper respect and honor.

Thank you for your insight. Would you please re-read this and edit it for clarity? I believe it says the opposite of what you meant.
