Hello, I am 19 years old and deal with anxiety issues, so this may be slightly scrupulous, but I just have a question regarding a tattoo I wanted to get. I have one tattoo already of an oyster and pearl, which I hope is not a sin in anyway. It represents my love for the ocean, and ocean life. I was planning on getting a second above my right elbow of my birth year. I wanted to get this to represent my thankfulness for my life. But I ran into an issue in my head because my birth year is 1999. Upside down that would contain 3 sixes. I would never ever want to get anything demonic tattooed on me, and now I feel that my meaningful tattoo is tainted. Just wanted to get some advice, or opinions on the situation. Thanks in advance for your time, I appreciate it.

Wouldn’t it be 6661 upside down, not 666?

In any case, I think it would be fine. Your intention has nothing to do with the demonic.

The idea that 666 is evil comes from a gross misinterpretation of Scripture.

Just make sure any tattoo you get is something you will still want when you are 60 years old.

In my opinion getting that tattoo is silly. Do you have any Catholic tattoos?
However, you are getting a tattoo of the number 1999. Period. Not a six to be found…

You should talk to your Priest about your scruples. Get some help in tackling them head-on.

There’s nothing wrong or demonic about the tattoo.

Thank you for your reply, and help. I am planning on getting a Catholic tattoo, but haven’t yet decided on what exactly yet. Some ideas I have had are a rosary or the Miraculous Medal.
