Question about catholism

Sorry if maybe this is wrong place to ask this question. Don’t know were to post in correct section 🤷

I have noticed recently that an Argentian preist has said that it is ok to accept aliens as our extra-terrestrial brothers. And that believing in aliens does not effect our belief in our saviour the Lord Jesus Christ. Now iam very confussed because I allways thought the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins so we can be saved and Jesus died once for all humanity meaning Human kind as man kind and not aliens from other planets. My question is, why is the Vatacan saying that there could be life on other planets. Like aliens. Is it an official roman Catholic teaching that aliens could exist on different planets and why would they think that ? if the bible says Jesus died for man kind and came to earth as our saviour. It is very clear Jesus died once only for man kind and not did the same in different planets for aliens. My other question is, there something wrong with that preist making these weird statements??

I think it is impossible to accept aliens exist in other planets and that they will visit us one day and believe at the same time what the bible says about us humans being the only creation of God. I would like feed back if anyone would like too please. Does the pope accept that aliens exist ? I think the bible 100 per cent says we as humans male and female are the only creation God made and yeah the animals too. But I think aliens is somewere that catholism shouldn’t go because it is like saying everything is made up and its crazy:shrug:🤷
 
There is no official teaching from the Vatican on extra-terrestrial aliens. Since there is no concrete proof of intelligent life outside our solar system, the Church is not going to spend time on pondering it. Should that time come, I am sure that the Church will take into account their firm belief that God created all things. So should ET show up here, God would have created ET also. C.S. Lewis wrote a science fiction trilogy about this very thing. InOut of the Silent Planet an earthling makes the trip beyond our planet to another. There he finds that the Earth is shrouded in darkness. As time goes on he learns that the Angel of our planet rebelled against God and by man’s Fall from grace others in the nearby solar systems have lost touch with our planet. It is a fascinating spiritual read. But, alas, it is fiction. So far, there is no concrete proof of intelligent alien life, but if there is it will not take away from the Incarnational Salvation of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

bcuster, if aliens exist then they would not be saved because God saved us because of his son Jesus Christ so why would there be other intelligent life out there that maybe could be much more powerful than us humans !! I think its wrong of that Argentinian priest to make them opinons because Jesus is not an alien. The whole alien thing is invented by spirtiualists. Just think its a shame a Catholic presit would make them kind of views !! How could aliens be our brothers when the Lord Jesus Christ did not die for there sins. The bible clearly states we are alone in this universe and that God is the only power out there that rules. It is impossible for any other life to exist outside earth. Well maybe heaven exist in the far off galaxies. But heaven is one thing, but alien planets with green little people ? 😉 And there cant be other humans in different planets because that just makes no sense because why didn’t Jesus die for there sins like the rest of us. Iam Catholic but I obey my bible first and formost above everything else !!

Please explain what you mean by that because that statement is very hard to understand ?

Does that not challenge the bible on facts !!

Aliens could exist just like fairies could exist, although the evidence for the former is if anything even flimsier than the evidence for the latter as far as I know.

We already know that non-human intelligent creatures exist, namely the angels. It could be that there are other kinds that we do not know about. Indeed, there is some Catholic precident for such beliefs. St. Jerome seems to have believed in fauns and possibly centaurs as real creatures distinct from humans and angels/demons, for example. If we ever find out that there are such things we will need to figure out what their relationship to the Incarnation is. The Incarnation remains the central event for all of God’s Creation, so if there are space aliens or elves or Narnia-style talking animals out there, or any other kind of intelligent creature that is not human or angelic, then even it must have some relation of its own to Jesus Christ.

I don’t think the Bible clearly states that we are alone in the universe. Where do you read that? I’m not saying we aren’t. I think it’s highly probably that we are, however, I don’t think the Bible actually says so. If there is any life outside of earth, it could only have been created by God, so maybe that’s what the priest meant. At any rate, I don’t think there is a complete Catholic teaching on the subject.

Where does the Bible clearly state this? Furthermore, what is the basis for you claim that it is impossible for any other life to exist outside earth?

How would the alien life in other worlds be equal to us humans since Jesus only died for our sins on earth and not other planets. This speaks volumes in its self. Ok if there is life in other planets they cant not be as intelligent as humans because God gave man the earth so he could rule over everything. So you know its kind of there isn’t it really ? Or maybe iam wrong ? Look at Adam and Eve in the bible it exactly tells everything from there !!

Jesus died for our sins. I mean man kind so we would live forever in the kingdom of god in heaven. It states in the bible God made male and female as humans not aliens and that he died for our sins. That clearly says no such thing as aliens. It doesn’t have to be in black and white but its clear enough for me to understand. Yes I think aliens are demons but not aliens. Demons made by satan to fool man kind from the word of god. Maybe maybe not !!??

aelred minor, yeah you make some sense. Angels and demons aren’t human but there not alien either. And God isn’t alien either. I do think heaven is out there in a far away galaxy. God wouldnt want us finidng it for good reason. Isnt it weird that humans can not go to mars and that we are so so slow and backward at space travel. We have only being to the moon. This that not maybe say something !!

No, it doesn’t. The Bible is about God and the salvation of humans. We don’t know what God’s plan may be for intelligent life elsewhere, if it exists.

But just because alien life is possible, doesn’t mean you have to believe in it. Just remember not to put God in your own little box – He is infinite and omniscient, and not bound by our human understanding.

What you are claiming is not clearly stated by Holy Scripture, but is merely your personal opinion. The fact of the matter is that we do not know whether there is life-intelligent or not-on other planets.

Are you aware that the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ ?

At the start of time God made male and made female from male. God made the heavens and the earth and the entire galaxy. Do you think salvation happened on other planets agnes ? Do you think Jesus died on other planets for alien life form ? If God made alien life form we would of had are supposed alien brothers living near us or we would zip to them in our star trek enterprise ship. Really its that simple. Maybe really some aliens are demons and some angels and maybe that’s the most common sense approach

Yes ryan, but I think if there was alien life in other planets we would have known and seen them by now. But come on. Look at the bible it clearly states jesus died for man kinds sins. So what does that tell you ryan in a nut shell ??

I’ll start off my thoughts on this by saying that I do not bother my head with such possibilities. I know and believe with all my heart that Jesus Christ is our salvation, if we follow and obey him.

But, here is something for you to think about: Just suppose that there is intelligent life on another planet, and that in their beginning they were given a test. And they passed their test, (unlike Adam and Eve). Then they would not have a fallen nature.

Just because some of us may think that there may be intelligent life out there in space, it does not mean that they do not believe in salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity.

What makes you think aliens would automatically be lost? If they are a separate creation of God’s and they didn’t rebel against God the way mankind did, they’d be closer to God than we fallen men are. No offense, but I’m kinda suspecting you are a troll. Forgive me if I’m wrong.

Actually I don’t think the Bible claims most of this stuff you are saying it claim.

In a nutshell, it tells us absolutely nothing as to whether there is life elsewhere in the universe.

No iam not a troll. Iam only talking about questions of our faith if you care to listen my friend.
