No, cause I think all he does is great. Why would I want to measure it?
Well, I know you’re young and you just might have homework to do tonight, so, with your permission, I’ll spare you the suspense.
When you get a chance, open a Bible and read the first paragraphs of Genesis. If you have time, read as much of it as you can. You see, the Catholic Church still believes what Christianity believed for nearly 2,000 years. And that is, that God’s
creation is His single most important and greatest work.
Now, I know, and so do you, that He does many great things. But, just think, how did all of this come about. Through His single act of creation. An act that He was exceedingly satisfied with. And the purpose of us.
Sometimes, our Church seems strange to us, in these days. So strange that it actually believes that your
participation in His creation is as important as His creation of the entire universe. In fact, it considers the act of baby making (creation) on the same level as the edict against killing an unborn baby. As I said, strange!
It is so strange that a Catholic cannot select the use of contraception rather than take an unborn baby’s life if the GF gets pregnant! Can you believe that? But, it’s true. That is why it is soo important to the Church that we put our self-control on steroids. That we take our self-control to the gym and make it work out with us. That we push it to new personal results.
For me, it’s a little easier, as I’m a tad older than you. For you, it’s a nightmare. I was where you are now. But, we are human beings, not beasts of the fields. The act of sex, the participation with God in the creation of new life, what an incredibly difficult calling out. I don’t envy you one bit.
It’s easy to give in to the desire. It doesn’t take much strength at all to make a baby. Real strength is where one takes the proper steps to make the baby and sustain its life after its birth. This requires marriage. This requires a supreme commitment. This requires back up from family (both families).
Sex is not a “practice sport”. Think things through. Pray on it. Remind your friends of this. You WILL all be in my prayers tonight.
Merry Christmas and
God Bless you,
JD
