I recently started going back to church last sunday, but the mass that I went I felt completly lost because the priest was reading it in Latin, I was soo lost, and I felt like I sinned because I could not sing along or understand it, i’m really dissapointed in myself, but I really focused all the way thru it, I wasn’t looking around or anything I was just focusing as hard as I can but still couldn’t understand it, anybody got any tips?should I go to the english mass?

I frequently attend Masses in languages I do not understand and cannot speak. It’s not a sin not to understand the language someone else is speaking. 🙂

You can go to an English Mass, of course! But you can also familiarize yourself with or even carry an English translation of the liturgy with you.

I cannot, for example, pray the Creed in Korean. I do, however, know the Creed in English, so I am able to pray it silently at the same time it is being prayed aloud in Korean. 🙂

Check your diocesan web site and find the closest 4-5 churches near you and check their websites for an Ordinary Form mass or one that says English if its a bilingual parish. Also other good indicators would be if its a Newman center or has a school. These are the the parishes that would be a regular English mass.

I’m sorry you felt lost, I could help answer questions if you would like.
