When I don’t have a baby waking up to nurse during the night…this is exactly my sleep pattern too.I have another question, maybe someone can help.
I tend to wake up during the night and go to the bathroom. That is around 2am or 4am. Sometimes I also wake up around 6am and then drift into a half-asleep state for another half hour or so. I take my temperature when I finally wake up, between 6.30 and 7am. I worry that my erratic sleeping disrupts the accuracy of temperature taking.
What has been your experience? Does waking up during the night influence your result? How can you tell if this is the case?
Thanks!
I’m not charting now, but when I was I found it didn’t make much of a difference. I usually took my temp at the 6am wakeup time instead of when I was closer to actually getting out of bed. And when I did have a nighttime nursing baby, even that didn’t seem to make much of a difference in my temps. I still followed the regular pattern and shifts. It was only off if I was sick or if I had been up a lot more than usual.
Some women’s BBT can be really sensitive to night wakings, but if you find that you can still detect a shift, I wouldn’t worry about it, especially if you’re cross checking with CM and cervix positioning.
