I had even thought that PETA stands for People for the Erotic Treatment of Animals. In short, support for bestiality.

In making this thread, my intent isn’t to argue or defend any particular viewpoint (so my intent is to comply with forum rules), nor will I do so in any of my responses. I just want to ask a simple question: What do you have against PETA? That is, why do you dislike their organization and what they do so much?

Again, I will not defend PETA in this thread in anyway; I just wanna know your thoughts about them.

I worked at PETA for just over 2 years in the Mid-2000’s. Unlike the Humane Society which is really making strides now days by working with companies behind the scenes to directly improve the lives of farm animals, PETA prefers to spend their money on the same old tired demonstrations and other media stunts. Really the only thing they care about is getting inches in a newspaper or seconds on the television. Of course, to spread the message you have to be visible but they are literally doing the same types of things they were doing 6 years ago when I was there (I was one that would go around and do them). And the press was getting tired of it back then.

PETA is floundering in my opinion. Their best days are long behind them. People are tired of the antics and they have lost credibility. The Humane Society is making some real changes happen and the meat industry is much more scared of them than PETA. Trust me, stick with HSUS.
