I did read your ‘blog’. But its what I have heard so often. And yes it is sad, born or unborn…I agree. Michael.
have you ever wondered why you “VISIT” other churches? maybe your looking for something you’re missing in the sda church…

when ever i went to a Catholic church before joining it was like coming home…
maybe you’re being called home.🙂

Yes the Catholic church is the Church the Lord Jesus Christ started, notice I left out the Roman part, it surely came later with the bishop of Rome when the barbarians sacked Rome the bishop of Rome took over, watched a film of it few years ago, cannot trust a film I know, but the bishop took over Rome after the barbarians left. The Church was started in Jerusalem surely, that may be too symplistic for you, but the 11 disciples and the others, 2000 converted in one day…the early church and then it spread to Rome with Paul and Peter.

Yes you claim Peter was the first pope, he wasn’t I would say, and then you admit that the Roman Catholic Church what? claims to have changed the Sabbath, just because I don’t accept one does not mean I cannot accept the other…Ha…too late at night for this :eek:john…see you tomorrow mate…
if by saying that peter and the other apostles changed it from saturday to sunday is saying that the Roman Catholic Church changed it then i am guilty as charged:cool:

i am glad we agree that the Catholic Church is the Church the Lord Jesus Christ started.

you are starting to sound Catholic:thumbsup:;)😃

Good Night…🙂

ugh alcoholic wine too, ha, good excuse for a tipple huh…so yeah we have choice…

Ha! Don’t get me started on Mary…wow she was a very special young lady to be chosen as the mother of Lord Jesus, to be entrusted with the nuture and upbringing of Jesus…and Joseph too, special man…good living people to teach Lord Jesus the Scriptures and guide Him in His young life…

But Mary was a human being and she died and was buried like every other…I heard a legend that she was buried in North Wales where she went as a Missionary…we cannot pray to Mary…she would tell us if she could tell us, to worship her Son…same with all the Saints…they are nearly all dead and buried and awaiting the resurrection… this soul business is another weed planted amongst the wheat of the early Church…God breathed into man the breath of life and he became a living soul…I am a soul…many souls were drowned in the Titanic…its not some ghostly apparition…when we get to heaven we will be body and spirit or breath…(God looks after the essence of what makes us who we are what makes Michael Michael but we are unconcious) equals souls…‘the soul that sinneth it shall die’!!

So, wow johnshark, its 2am here time I was hitting the hay, the entertainment has been wonderful, thank you!!

Shalom, peace, may God bless all here. Michael.👍
Difference #1, when a Catholic drinks from a chalice in Holy Communion, it is the blood of Christ they are drinking, not “alcoholic wine”.

Difference #2 Catholics do not belive in “soul sleep” nor do Protestants, to the best of my knowledge it is only two cults in the whole world that beleive in “soul sleep” the Jehovah Witnesses, and the SDA.

but if conscience allows them to kill and not murder…??
So let’s just say that if I believed that someone wasn’t fully a person until his/her brain was 100 percent developed to the max, logically by your standards I could kill any 5 year old and it would come under the 'Hey, it’s killing and not murder" line huh. Therefore your church would say it was ok to leave it up to the individual’s conscience on this matter? My what a wonderful living breathing testimony of truth you have in your church there. In reality of course it’s a terrible system of truth as you would put it. 😉
I have to say to you that I believe in reason as well as Scripture, God made us intelligent beings, so I indeed look at my beliefs to see if they make sense…
I find that hard to believe brother2 knowing you believe God left his written word to a bunch of ignorant illiterates for about 1500 years who even if they could, didn’t have the resources to duplicate, go back, study the culture and original languages to get a better understanding of the context of certain passages. That is the one of the silliest and inconceivable notions out of all protestant Doctrines.

Yes 10 Commandments (even if the Pope changed the order) sorry!!
I hear this allegation being repeated mindlessly and it high time to demand from those spreading this falsehood to demonstrate what they are saying. Brther2, can you possibly show us how the Pope changed the order of the 10 Commandments (and please don’t forget to show us the “unchanged” order as well)

OK Lads and Lassies the gloves seem to be off in some of the responses to my careful and reasoned replies. It is your right not to believe what I have told you. As it is mine not to believe your replies to me.
Good!
In my view the Roman Catholic Church have been so clever and artful at hiding the history they do not want the world to know…in the counter reformation how clever and artful at re interpreting Scripture to its own devices.
Your “view” is self-contradictory since if the “Roman Catholic Church have been clever and artful at hiding the history they do not want the world to know” then you have no evidence; if you have evidence then the “Roman Catholic Church” was not “clever and artful in hiding the history they do not want the world to know”.
I repeat, I respect you all, and extend Christian love to you, it is the System which I fault.
Can you afford us the same right to fault your System? You fault us, we fault you - what then?
I list some Websites for you perusal as my words are not enough. And then i leave you to your own devices.
No big deal. There are many more websites that disagree with what your websites say. Why should we believe what your websites say instead of believing what the websites that disagree with your websites, say?
Obviously the Roman Catholic Church declares itself to be infallible …
No! It was Christ Who declared His Church to be infallible - just read your Bible.

I really apologise for that I do, sorry…but we have an Advocate with the Father, the Man Christ Jesus, we don’t need to confess to a human being…
Luckily, that is just your un-Biblical opinion, for James 5:16 tells us other wise. According to you, James was supposed to say “confess your trespasses to one another but that is just a waste of time for no human being can forgive sins”.
… maybe no harm in confessing to a minister or priest, but a human being cannot forgive sin on behalf of God…and definitely not obligatory!!
Wow, that says a lot about your misunderstanding of confession. It is not about forgiving sins on behalf of God, but forgiving sins in Jesus’ name. Big difference there!
Do you doubt that a human being can do things in Jesus’ name? Can a human being preach in Jesus’s name? Can a human being cast out demons in Jesus’ name? Can a human being baptise in Jesus’s name? Why, then, can’t a human being, forgive sins in Jesus’s name?

The more Brother2 posts here, the more errors and outright lies dressed as historical facts are exposed to our naked eyes. If he fails to find historical evidence for what the SDA made him to believe, then that is because the Catholic Church destroyed all the evidence. For this allegation he needs no evidence at all. For him lack of evidence is evidence of a cover-up. Typical of all conspiracy theorists!
History in the first second and third centuries is not an artform, we were not there…Ha ha, the Roman Catholic fathers were there of course and wrote their own opinion or version of what was happening…
Brother2 may not know that, but that was in fact an explicit admission that the Catholic Church was there from the beginning of Christianity, but Brother2 would rather listern to a Church founded by a false prophet in the nineteenth century.
Like with all changes it is usually a gradual event rather than immediate…so it probably took hundreds of years for the gradual change…some wanting to distance themselves from the Jews… others keeping to the 7th day.
Even the formation of the canon of the Bible was gradual and he has no problem with that. Why?
Until Constantine got into the act…321 by the way…the first law regarding sunday…
Brother2, get real. In my own country a law on child protection was promulgated recently but that does not mean children were not protected before then. Even if we grant that Constantine gave the first law regarding sunday, that means nothing because we have overwhelming evidence that the early Church worshiped on Sunday - even before Constantine was born.
Paul kept Sabbath anyway, went to the synagoge every week, debating with the Jews and Greeks so Gentiles were there too…
I see Adventists at every Catholic World Youth Day. Have they become Catholic or do they go there with the purppose of preaching their version of the Gospel? Have you ever considered the possibility that was Paul’s purposse as well?
To say the Pope changed it is too symplistic of course, it was gradual, though the Bible says ‘he sits in the temple of God claiming to be god, and he thought to change times and laws’…so it became a symbol of the power of the Roman Catholic Church that they were able to do it so they did…history has been carefully changed by the Church of course, holding all the archives…
I pity people who chose to rely on the non-existent “changed history” as opposed to verifiable history. And mentioning “all the archives” seems to be a sign of “coveting your neighbor’s property”. Why is Brother2 not rather worried about the archives of White Estate?

Thanks for that Placido. You are welcome to your responses. Funny how I get different people responding each time? Except for fishisgood, he has stamina!! I maybe wear the others out by too many words, they just get fed up…

So as few words as possible this time. A charge levied at my ‘System’, I throw a version of it at the Roman Catholic Church too…what good is a Counterfeit if it is easy to tell it is fake? The early Church was the genuine article, but later the father of lies got in on the act and sowed that much error, weeds amongst the good wheat, that the Church became a counterfeit…more pagan that christian…and then covered the tracks that well that it is difficult to find the evidence…Scripture outlines it well but is not specific, but fairly obvious to us…and most Protestants up to 80 years ago…till ecumenism came into vogue…

I said before that there is no harm in worshiping with each other in non doctrinal worship even though we distrust the system, we like to fellowship with you in praise…and ha, isn’t it still a free country? Up to a point anyway.

So, Shalom brother, and may God bless all here. Michael.👍

I am very pleased that all who have taken the time to post on this question have been so informative in there points of views. I know God is working in bringing all brothers and sisters together in recognizing his One True Church.

True. That seems to be your purpose here. To distract, to try to confuse Catholics by using as many meaningless words as possible.

That is a very sad heresy. You are in fact accusing Jesus of being a liar. He promised to be with His Church forever; He promised the Helper, yet here you are, saying that Christ’s Church became a counterfeit - only to be re-invented by Ellen White. In other words, Ellen White was the second savior, an “improvement” on the “sloppy job” done by Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
To allege that the Church became more pagan than Christian is like saying the SDA is “more Roman” simply because the SDA, like the Catholic Church, believe in the Trinity and in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Wake up man: don’t allow yourself to be confused by similarities.
… and most Protestants up to 80 years ago…till ecumenism came into vogue…
There you have it. The crux of the matter is that someone somewhere does not want to see Christian unity (ecumenism) that Jesus earnestly prayed for. Who is that someone if not the devil himself?

Brother2, I notice you do alot of talking about saying we are wrong but you don’t back anything up with actual discussion regarding this explicity proof of why you think our Doctrines are in error. You actually believe you have this great gift of interpreting 2000 year old text in context? As easy as eating pie huh. And those links you gave us, most had to do with the fairly recent erroneous doctrine of still keeping the sabbath yawn and the 2 others merely tell us what we believe.
I said before that there is no harm in worshiping with each other in non doctrinal worship even though we distrust the system, we like to fellowship with you in praise…and ha, isn’t it still a free country? Up to a point anyway.
No harm but not easy either. It’s missing that ‘Oneness’ Jesus wanted you know. Do you think the early Church ever worshiped with heretics?

Hi Brother2, you missed post #105. Can you please give it a try?
Yes, he seems to be doing this alot doesn’t he.

I’d love an answer on my abortion example too, as well as that one verse to prove sola Scripture. Here we have a doctrine that has made a mockery out of Christianity in the past 500 years and I’ve yet to hear from any protestants that one almighty explicit verse to back it up.

OK brother Joseph. The Christian Church is God’s True Church, just a pity we have to be splintered in hundreds of different groups…of which the Roman Catholic Church is just one large part.

May God bless all here. Michael.

Were there any heretics then, maybe, but the Gospel was open to all. And who are the heretics we are worshiping with…ha ha all be heretics together and enjoy each others company huh?

Shalom. May God bless all here. Michael.

uh what happened to the Catholic Church is the church that Christ started from last night?

You are still keeping me up johnshark ha ha. No, believe me john I am reading all your well thought out writing and I appreciate where you are coming from honest I do. I have learned to listen as I have got older and I hear you.

OK oK I try and meet you half way and I get chastised for it guys, ok. The Catholic Church grew out of the Christian Church which started in Jerusalem, sure I explained it afterwards…

Listen Have you all been to Rome and the Vatican? Bit difficult if you live in the States because it is a long way accross the Atlantic. I been there around 4 times, once on a day trip would you believe, try that from the States…joke guys.

Really amazing place I have to admit…no other place in Europe is so steeped in in your face history, I would go back again if I get the chance. When I went at first there was no security like there is now, just walk on in brother, heretic or not ha, and even go down in the lower floor down the stairs which is closed off now.

The Vatican must be the most fantastic place in the world, huge basilica, the Swiss guard and their pitch forks, all the statues and things, just truly amazing!!

So I get a !!glimpse of the brotherhood of the members of the Roman Catholic Church, you are all one, united in belief, in history, with your Pope as the head of the Church mingling with world leaders, just about every world leader gets an audience with the Pope huh?
Any world leader would be just completely overawed by ‘your man’s house’, no wonder Tony Blair became Roman Catholic, though he held off until he was out of office, I’m thankful for small mercies ha ha:rolleyes:

So yeah, I understand where you are all coming from guys and gals, who would not defend the United Church of at least 1 Billion members and the history to match, with some of the best theologians in the business.😃

OK. Shalom guys and may God bless all here. Michael.👍

i believe the reason he waited to convert is because it is against the law in England for a Catholic to hold high public office
