I agree. 👍 The realization that Christ is physically among us reminds me of St Thomas who proclaims “My Lord and my God!”

Not everyone is aware and may actually state disbelief in Christ’s Real Presence. Our understanding has no effect on the presence of God. Some consume not realizing what they are actually eating, the Bread of Heaven.
So do Lutherans believe that the Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ veiled?

protestant vs catholic … correct?

who would be silly enough to believe the whole fairy tale about jesus in the first place?

now you want to split hairs about martin luther’s take on fairy tales written decades after jesus’s death?

jesus lol Elijah brought back the dead and Elisha his student did it twice.

the Jews were not so naive as to think they were sons of GOD.

how the church ever hoodwinked you into swallowing that story is the TRUE miracle of jesus lol.

but in all fairness if you tell a small child that a pineapple god and he sees his parents his siblings his friends and his teachers all believe the pineapple is god, there is a good chance that child will believe it.

👍

L:thumbsup:udicrous.
Since this is only your second post, rather than report you I will share the forum rules with you.

It is fine to have your opinion that Christ did not exist but you cannot call our religion a fairy tale. It is extremely disrespectful and arrogant.

Be careful, titandata. How you are posting can be construed as “contempt for Catholicism”, which is something that is not permitted here.

It is good for you to be here, however, and in dialogue with knowledgeable Christians, so, welcome!

We believe that the Eucharist is the true body and blood of Christ, given and shed for the remission of sins - we also maintain that the bread and wine are present as our senses perceive those. How this can be, is regarded as a Mystery. We do not attempt to define how this is done.

Fairy Tale was a disrespectful term someone said.

so i should be more factual in my posts as not to offend any good christian souls (i can see my time here will be very short lol)

so just the facts then.

being hurtful for hurtful sake is NOT my mission, I am 100% positive that 99% of you are 100% GREAT PEOPLE sons daughters mothers fathers.

I do claim in all seriousness however that the church as an institution is evil and murderous. And I will post any fact you want to back up that claim.

Converting people by the sword is NOT benevolence.

from 2007 the below quote

Pope Benedict XVI tried to quell anger in South America over his recent comments about the conversion of native populations, conceding that “unjustifiable crimes” were committed in the conquest of the continent.

These “crimes” as your pope puts it are in every decade in every century since the inception of the church leading up to the modern scandals which I have too much respect for the people here to even mention!

that being said … if the phrase “FAIRY TALE” is too indigestible for you,
I wonder what watching a victim on the “RACK” would do to your lunch.

Lets not shower ourselves with undeserved righteousness here and delude our thinking.

Can we not talk about the Catholic issue honestly without tip toeing around every nuance of speech, where in reality there is an ocean of blood and horror that is being hidden from view?

That Catholics have done bad things is incontrovertible.

However, this is no indictment upon Catholicism.

One should try to address the teachings of Catholicism that you believe are false, not attack those who did not follow the teachings of the Church.

If this is truly your view, I wonder when you and all the Jewish people renounce the atrocities placed against Palestinians over the last 50 years, not to mention the deplorable baby and women murdering of the conquest of Canaan.

I’d love to learn your perspective on this, despite the fact that what you state about the church and these torture devices really is a “fairy tale!”

Every Jew is Guilty of Deicide from the moment of birth.
C’Mon its 2013 look at yourself before you accuse others of being disrespectful.

I could go on for ever its no contest, and I am not sure if this will be my last post,

look at yourselves as real people with GOD given souls, the large organized religious institutions are built for failure, the best thing for you would probably just join a Noahide group

tsk tsk

Canaan was so steeped in human sacrifice that GOD commanded to stamp it out.
They would literaly murder their own children, and the Jews learned from them and did it as well. You will find it in Kings II i believe

The Holy Spirit will always lead a seeker to the fullness of Truth. If a believer does not conform his views to the Truth, however, that is a result of one’s free will.
ABSOLUTELY!!! But it is important to keep in mind that the Truth is Jesus Christ and not the church.

Yes the Holy Spirit is wherever Christ’s Truth is proclaimed. He is with all the baptized.

He is nudging and prodding everyone to the ONE truth that the Church Christ founded and protects.

Unfortunately people do not always listen to the Holy Spirit and their traditions and personal feelings tend to dilute the truth the Spirit has revealed to them.
I totally agree except the one Truth is Jesus Christ and not the church He founded. I also might disagree that the Holy Spirit is only with the baptized. It is the Holy Spirit that convicts us of the Truth of Jesus Christ. As I am a firm believer in Believer’s Baptism I am convinced that it is the working of the Holy Spirit that leads us to Christ and into the waters of Baptism.

Archbishop Dolan cited the conversion story of St. Paul to illustrate the connection, noting that “Jesus did not ask, ‘Saul, why do you persecute my people?’ or ‘Why do you persecute my church?’ Jesus asked, ‘Why do you persecute me?’”

He invited his audience to consider those words carefully as he noted that, once converted, Saul/Paul “seeks out the church, the united followers of Jesus. He sought out the church in order to find Jesus, so that he could be united in the disciples’ work of evangelization.”

Yet, the archbishop said, that connection seems to be lost on many of today’s people, including many lapsed, inactive and fallen-away Catholics — some of whom have renounced and rejected the Catholic faith.

“We are living in an era where people believe in Christ, but not in his church,” said Archbishop Dolan. “They want the king, but not the kingdom; they want to believe without belonging; they want the faith, but not the faithful. But for the committed Catholic, the answer to that is, ‘no can do.’ Jesus and the church are one.”

Jesus Christ without His Body, the Church, is a Head without any means of expressing Himself.

That is why the Church is here. Without her, you are worshipping a disembodied Head.

That’s just assertion. You’re mixing metaphors and changing the context of Jesus’ speech. On your view, disembodied or not, a head is all Jesus is. Mostly you’d be worshiping yourself. I rather think Jesus’ metaphor just can’t be applied to worship. Please let that one go. And it’s not like Protestants don’t believe there is one true Church. We do, and it is universal. But it is not the proximate object of our faith. Christ is. As believerdoc said.

Yes the one truth is Christ and his message of salvation.

The church is the custodian of that truth. God protected his truth just as he did in the Old Testament.

There is no truth if tens of thousands of denominations let alone millions of individuals proclaim a different truth.

I hope you can one day understand that the only truth you have is the truth as you see it and the common view holders around you affirm.

HF can you still stand firm to this statement after reading the following 5 passages? Especially the last one?

[BIBLEDRB]Col 1:18[/BIBLEDRB]
[BIBLEDRB]1 Cor 12:20-27[/BIBLEDRB]
[BIBLEDRB]Eph 5:30[/BIBLEDRB]
[BIBLEDRB]Rom 12:4-5[/BIBLEDRB]
[BIBLEDRB]1 Cor 6:15[/BIBLEDRB]

That’s just assertion. \
Well, it’s an assertion extracted from Scripture, and from reason.

Scripture declares that the Church is Christ’s body (see Ephesians 5:23, Colossians 1:24).

And reason tells us that Jesus has only One Body, right?

And it’s not like Protestants don’t believe there is one true Church. We do, and it is universal.
As Protestantism is a behemoth of tens of thousands of differing beliefs, it’s not helpful to declare “Protestants don’t believe…”

Some will. Some won’t. It just depends, does it not, upon their own “personal judgement”, right?
