This little video would almost make me laugh if it wasn’t so offensive. It distorts almost everything we believe. It’s so offensive I hate to even write a response. But let me put a couple notes down for clarity.
- Heavenly Father with many beautiful wives in some mock harem, what blasphemy!
The harem example IS offensive, but it is no secret that LDS believe God has many wives.
- These wives changing and burping children all day, please.
Extreme, but used to illustrate the alleged premortal existence with ALL of those kids in the Spirit World. I
- A council of god’s(?) around a table voting on the eternal destiny of man. Symbolism should not be taken literally.
Hmmm…maybe another teaching that has changed, but when I was LDS, I often heard of the Council of Gods.
- Satan’s followers turning into demons.
Hmmm…aren;t they?
- God knocking on Mary’s door to conceive Christ. How crude. This is man’s interpretation.
Yes. Crude. But Brigham taught that Jesus was conceived just like anyone is. That would mean God has relations with Mary. It is crudely depicted, but the truth of the matter is correct.
- Joseph as equal with Christ. Simply not true.
Really? Joseph said he was better than Christ. Further, Brigham taught that no one goes to heaven without Joseph’s approval. Seems pretty equal to me.
Now, this video seems to be approximately what most anti-LDS want others to believe about us. It does contain some truth but packages it all wrong until it stinks…
