Fine, I’ll let it slide this time. But next time…mark my words, I will stare at the screen with such a stern face, it’ll be the sternest I’ve ever looked at the screen.
Hello again…

 Is there something that upset you - or are you just kidding? I can’t tell…

We had several threads about “ask islam” and they were all exhausted and reached their limit of posts… This here is the last one I belive… which is round 4.

In these type of threads we would post, question, inquire about everything regarding islam instead of opening many different threads about specific inquiries.

I was joking. Bumping old threads is sometimes called “raising the dead” 😃 Hence the play on words and given the type of forum.

Not an exceptionally hilarious joke I admit, but… **😊
Ok wow… OK -

I’ve always said, sometimes I’m not the brightest star in the sky…

And Good Night. … I’ll check in tomorrow…

I have a question - what do Muslims believe happened to the Virgin Mary at the end of her life? I’m curious because as a Catholic I believe she died and her body was assumed into heaven. I did a hadith search and a general internet search but wasn’t able to find anything.

Based on my knowledge of Islam I would say that Muslims would say they hope she is in heaven but they don’t know because in Islam there is no guarantee that a Muslim will go to heaven unless they are a martyr not even Mohammed knew for certain that he was going to heaven. You see in Islam is an angel records your good deeds and another one records your bad deeds. At the end of your life the good deeds have to outweigh the bad ones otherwise you do not get into heaven without becoming a martyr.

Given how well the Koran speaks of her and holds her high among women (S. 3:42), there’s no doubt I’m sure Muslims believe she is in heaven, or that according to Islam she is. In fact throughout the Koran Christ is known as “Jesus son of Mary,” rather than “Jesus of Nazareth” or “Jesus Christ.”

Actually I’ve heard some Muslims say on the board that they believe in Jesus Christ because he was born by miracle birth. but it is totally different than our concept of Jesus because they believe that he came to deliver a message only to the Jews and of course they denied that he died on the cross and his divinity. So that is what is meant by Muslims when they say Jesus Christ.

I’m speaking solely in the context of Mary - there are many passages in the Koran that address Christ as “Jesus son of Mary.” There are even more found in the hadith sources.

Oh I know I’ve read the Koran or most of it anyway but I wanted to reignite that point because I didn’t want to see people get confused when they hear a Muslim say Jesus Christ or Jesus the son of Mary because I know I did the first time I heard it.

Usually when they are saying that they are referring more to Jesus than to Mary. They do honor her though. What their point in saying ‘Jesus, son of Mary’ is to show themselves that Jesus was not what He claimed to be, the Son of God, one of the Trinity.

It gets very confusing. Basically Muhammed didn’t have a clue as to what the Bible said except for what he heard. Muhammed couldn’t read or write and for the first 40 years of his life he was a pagan, a Hanif. In fact, his father’s name was ‘Abd-allah’ (or slave of Allah). Allah was one of many gods and goddesses in his religion.

What Muhammed did was to make Allah the sole god in his new religion. And then he took the parts of the Bible that he knew and included them into his religion. Unfortunate for him, the Jews and Christians were literate and knew their Bible and knew, as we do now, that Muhammed really made a mess of the Bible stories.

And even at one point Muhammed included three of Allah’s daughters from his Hanif religion. They eventually were taken out, and Muhammed blamed the devil for including them. but the three daughters are even mentioned in the Quran. (Sura 53:19)

And to go a bit further with Muhammed’s pagan religion - the black stone, the Hajj, and all the rites (spitting, snorting, throwing rocks at the devil, running around it and running to another rock, etc) associated with it are of Muhammed’s pagan religion. Muhammed broke the statue that used to depict Allah.

There is a free book on the interenet and you can download it and read it. It is one of many that I have read (I read this one years ago)

in PDF format: The Truth about Muhammed

I think that faithfreedom.org had some articles on the black rock and one former Muslim admitted that Muslims worship the black rock
because they think it has consciousness and will speak for them on Judgement Day. There is no guarantee of salvation in Islam and there are a lot of things they do to try to be saved. (read down the article a bit to find that little tidbit about the black rock)

although most of your understanding for islam is differ than understanding of muslims themselfs but i have to confess that i agree with you in this point
it was very intillegent from you to get this conclusion , so that i expect from you to think about how many times jesus (pbuh) called himself son of man in your bible ,

Hi Sam - I read the entire thread and there were no posts from any of our musim members.

I knew quite a bit about mohamad, but not this stuff.
…quotation from Ibn Kathir which helps to put things in perspective:
"The Messenger of God … said, ‘God MARRIED ME IN PARADISE TO MARY THE DAUGHTER OF 'IMRAN and to the wife of Pharaoh and the sister of Moses.’
(Tabarani)" (Ibn Kathir, Qisas al-Anbiya [Cairo: Dar al-Kutub, 1968/1388], p. 381- as cited in Aliah Schleifer’s Mary The Blessed Virgin of Islam [Fons Vitae; ISBN: 1887752021; July 1, 1998], p. 64; bold and capital emphasis ours)
According to the Quran, Mary’s father is called Imran:
“Behold! a wife of Ìmrán said: ‘O my Lord! I do dedicate into Thee what is in my womb for Thy special service: So accept this of me: For Thou hearest and knowest all things.’ When she was delivered, she said: ‘O my Lord! Behold! I am delivered of a female child!’ - and Allah knew best what she brought forth - ‘And no wise is the male like the female. I have named her Mary, and I commend her and her offspring to Thy protection from Satan, the Rejected.’” S. 3:35-36

What do you quys (muslim members) make out of this?

I’ve always posted in the past that mohamad was not illiterate, that he wrote/penned the koran and the word to describe him was Ummy which meant Gentile.
**Prophet Muhammad - Wrote God’s Revelations - With His Own Hand **
The first revelation was “Read,” and included the statement “God teaches by means of the pen” (96:1-4), and the second revelation was “The Pen” (68:1). The only function of the pen is to write.
Ignorant Muslim scholars of the first two centuries after the Quran could not understand the Quran’s challenge to produce anything like it.
They had no idea about the Quran’s mathematical composition, and they knew that many literary giants could have composed works comparable to the Quran. In fact, many such literary giants did claim the ability to produce a literary work as excellent as the Quran.
The latest claim came from Taha Hussein, the renowned Egyptian writer.
The ignorant Muslim scholars then decided to proclaim Muhammad an illiterate man!
They figured that this would make the Quran’s extraordinary literary excellence truly miraculous.
The word they relied on to bestow illiteracy upon the Prophet was “UMMY.” Unfortunately for those “scholars,” this word clearly means “Gentile,” or one who does not follow any scripture (Torah, Injeel, or Quran) [see 2:78, 3:20 & 75, 62:2]; it does NOT mean “illiterate.”
The Prophet was a successful merchant. The “Muslim scholars” who fabricated the illiteracy lie forgot that there were no numbers during the Prophet’s time; the letters of the alphabet were used as numbers.
As a merchant dealing with numbers every day, the Prophet had to know the alphabet, from one to one-thousand.
The Quran tells us that Muhammad wrote down the Quran - Muhammad’s contemporaries are quoted as saying, "These are tales from the past that he wrote down.
They are being dictated to him day and night" (25:5). You cannot “dictate” to an illiterate person. The Prophet’s enemies who accuse him of illiteracy abuse Verse 29:48, which relates specifically to previous scriptures.
On the 27th night of Ramadan 13 B.H. (Before Hijerah), Muhammad the soul, the real person, not the body, was summoned to the highest universe and the Quran was given to him (2:97, 17:1, 44:3, 53:1-18, 97:1-5).
Subsequently, the angel Gabriel helped Muhammad release a few verses of the Quran at a time, from the soul to Muhammad’s memory.
The Prophet wrote down and memorized the verses just released into his mind. When the Prophet died, he left the complete Quran written down with his own hand in the chronological order of revelation, along with specific instructions as to where to place every verse.
The divine instructions recorded by the Prophet were designed to put the Quran together into the final format intended for God’s Final Testament to the world (75:17).
The early Muslims did not get around to putting the Quran together until the time of Khalifa Rashed `Uthmaan. A committee was appointed to carry out this task.
Is this quran.org site a sunni or shia or other muslim site? Do any of you know?
Thanks!

I know I posted this before but received no replies. By reading this hadith, it’s clear mohamad was speaking about Jesus.

There is no other hadith like this one I posted the entire thing which is pretty short.

The unusual position of this hadith is under the “apostate” category and not in the "prophet category of hadiths. 🤷
Volume 9, Book 84, Number 63:
Narrated 'Abdullah:
As if I am looking at the Prophet while he was speaking about one of the prophets whose people have beaten and wounded him, and he was wiping the blood off his face and saying, "O Lord! Forgive my, people as they do not know."
