Hi everyone, for those who can help me I have a few questions. Unfortunately my wife had a miscarriage three weeks ago and we were wondering about the efficacy of NFP prior to her first period. We were told by doctors to wait three months before trying to conceive again so we’re being extra careful about it. Her hCG levels have come down a lot but are still at 301. Does this mean she has not yet ovulated? If not, can we rely on signs from cervical fluid or can the hormones still present from the pregnancy make these signs inaccurate? We typically rely somewhat on OPK tests for ovulation, but those results are skewed because of the leftover hormones (it’s given us four consecutive positives, presumably false ones).
At worst we’ll continue to abstain until her cycle becomes more predictable, but I just thought I’d ask anyway… this whole NFP thing is still somewhat new to both of us.
