You should know that today there is no TRUE sharia country,there are only muslim countries that claim to follow sharia,but moslty its all about the corrupted leaders who place whatever that fits them into “sharia”.So an islamic state doesnt exist since the fall of the ottoman empire

BUT it is the goal of every true Muslim to push sharia law which includes death for the apostate, and inequality for all non-muslims.

Some people are also equally abhorred that capital punishment is still implemented, or that the definition for treason in England still includes non-political or military matters like polluting the royal bloodline, and until 1998 it was a crime punishable by death under the Treason Act.

In Islam, Apostasy is equal to treason and is not limited to political or military matters. In the Islamic order of sacredness, Allah, then the Prophet, and then the Qur’ãn occupy the highest positions. Tawhid, and Prophethood form the constitution of Islam. Just as upholding and protecting the constitution of a country is sign of patriotism, and undermining it is a form of treason - in the same way open rejection of the fundamental beliefs of Islam by a Muslim is an act of treason. Apostasy, i.e., the public declaration of rejecting the fundamentals of Islam, has also negative influence on the Muslim society; it’s a source of fitna, public upheaval & anarchy. And that is why Islam has prescribed harsh punishment for it.

You know what treason is? Treason is when someone becomes a citizen of a country and then goes off and tries to set off a bomb in a public space in that country “in the name of Allah”. That’s treason!

An apostate can be of two types:

1. a person who is born of a Muslim parent and then he rejects Islam. The person has apostates from the faith in which he was born.

1. a person who converted to Islam and then later on he rejects Islam

The death penalty for apostasy is only applicable in case of apostasy by men; in case of women, the punishment is not death but life imprisonment. And if such a woman repents, then her repentance is accepted and the punishment is lifted.

Well, I am so glad then that I would only be imprisoned for life unless I “repent”. I’m just wondering…repent for what? For following God?

Although I usually don’t pay any notice to “The Inquisition” card, I must insert this point:

I. “Innocent people” were never burned alive at the stake. First of all, hardly anyone was burned alive - most people were executed beforehand (often by strangulation, which was a rather humane punishment for the time) and their corpses were burned at the stake - usually in private. The lie that the Office of the Inquisition was a covert organization of conspirators and mad-men, going around door-to-door arresting innocent people and “witches” (in fact, the Inquisition never even targeted witches, to my knowledge, it was the Protestants that did that), giving unfair trials, cruelly executing, etc is simply a historical lie. In fact, the Inquisition was instituted to combat that exactly, since many rulers were doing such acts for political expediency, under the guise of executing heretics. There is a plethora of misinformation about this era (actually, eras) of history, and much of what is “heard” and even “taught” does not match with history.

I have read that those who were put to death that many claim to be done by the Church were executed by the local rulers because they believed that whoever would defy God would probably easily defy an earthly monarch. The Church has long been an opponent of the death penalty, death puts an immediate halt on someones ability to repent.
