…For that specific question, I dont think it would be found there. Hmmmmm…could someone please pass the TROLL repellent?? Pastor Jim. I think you are throwing loaded comments out there to provoke mess…
Exactly. Please stop trying to beat up “Pastor” Jim on this thread.I hate to do this, I really do, I’m not even married, but…
I do declare, on this Wednesday, July 30, 2008 that this thread has been officially hijacked.
Ummmm…no person in their right mind would think that the Bible is an appropriate place for a direct answer regarding this couples specific marital relations issue. Could you point out a passage that would be in direct corrolation to what the op needs??? I read the Bible daily mister, so dont go there. Your posts PROVE that you, sir, are a troll out to cause mess. If I need financial advise, a recipe, how to wire my house, how to take care of a child, how to balance a check book, ect, ect…is that found in the Bible too??? God gave us minds to think and to process problems and to figure out answers, hence asking questions or reading a “how to” mannual…geesh:shrug:I’m sorry you think that suggesting that somebody who’s claiming to be a Christian might go to the Bible for his answer is such an outrageous thing.
Actually, there is a verse that goes something like this (see, no scholar here)…Ummmm…no person in their right mind would think that the Bible is an appropriate place for a direct answer regarding this couples specific marital relations issue. Hmmm… noggin scratcher…I dont think that the wife is intentially “defiling” the marriage bed. I think that she may just need a physical to rule out anything that could be causing it. I think with only a week into the marriage, she could still be tired from all the preparations! She also could be nervous and need time to adapt to married life!Actually, there is a verse that goes something like this (see, no scholar here)…
“A marriage bed can not be defiled.” Many have pointed to this to justify that “anything goes.”
I would point you toward the Song of Solomon, which gives very good counsel on sex within a marriage.Ummmm…no person in their right mind would think that the Bible is an appropriate place for a direct answer regarding this couples specific marital relations issue. Actually, yes, the Bible does give very good counsel on financial matters and child rearing. If I need financial advise, a recipe, how to wire my house, how to take care of a child, how to balance a check book, ect, ect…is that found in the Bible too?
I wonder what would happen if I called one of the Catholics here a fool.:newidea:
Exactly. Please stop trying to beat up “Pastor” Jim on this thread.
“Never argue with a fool…”
Please stop being a pain. Yes, the Bible gives good councel. The OP needed SPECIFIC advice for a SPECIFIC ISSUE. Leave us alone TROLL! Everyone…do not waste one more keystroke on this instigator.I would point you toward the Song of Solomon, which gives very good counsel on sex within a marriage.
Actually, yes, the Bible does give very good counsel on financial matters and child rearing.
Oh, we are really not talking about the same thing…:nope:Hmmm… noggin scratcher…I dont think that the wife is intentially “defiling” the marriage bed. I think that she may just need a physical to rule out anything that could be causing it. I think with only a week into the marriage, she could still be tired from all the preparations! She also could be nervous and need time to adapt to married life!…still, I’m sorry~the Bible is a wonderful book, but not an actual honest to goodness marital relations guide!
Well, actually I wasn’t calling you a fool… In fact, I agree with some of what you say. There are marital relation references in the Bible.I wonder what would happen if I called one of the Catholics here a fool.
Got it!! We are on the same page now!! I totally agree with your post!! Well put!Oh, we are really not talking about the same thing…:nope:
I wasn’t trying to say the wife is doing anything wrong and did not mean to imply it… Your assessment may be right on the mark. I was not trying to specifically try to analyze the background of the situation.
He asked a specific question about lube and deciding to quit after going a ways. And someone said that that wasn’t in the bible. I was mearly pointing out that some people point to that passage to justify “anything goes, don’t worry about it.” Personally, I don’t think ‘anything’ meaning “absolutely everything is proper.” But much is, as is explained elsewhere.
I agree the bible specifically isn’t a sex manual. That is why I and others have suggested some other Catholic approved texts on the subject. But most of TOB is based on what IS in the Bible. What I read forms a " proper attitude" about sex. Once that is understood, the details can easily be determined if they fit the context or not.
Peace!
“Mommeee! Daddieeee! What are you doing in there?”
First, you start a new thread.

So then, if the Bible gives good counsel, then why do you get so upset when I say that we should consult it for counsel? Please stop being a pain. Yes, the Bible gives good councel. The OP needed SPECIFIC advice for a SPECIFIC ISSUE.
Why are the Catholics here so rude? Really, the name calling does not represent your organization well at all.Leave us alone TROLL!
