Better yet buddy, get out your phone book. Call any Roman Catholic Church you want.šŸ‘
Sadly enough, besides you guys here, I know very little faithful Catholics.
Most I know are of the Cafteria style. Some are ā€œgoing evangelicalā€ with worship music and are involved in the Charismatic Renewal and other similar ā€œmodernā€ Renewals within the RCC. And some abandoned their faith completely and live, as I usually say, an ā€œatheist lifeā€.

Yeah, okay I did ask mom and also dad.

So, first of all, rinnie, you are completely right. There is no single official Church document that would state that it’s upon one’s choice to either have or not have sex before marriage.
Second, what we’ve written above, was the PERSONAL (thus non-Catholic, if you like) opinion of my mom.

She said, ā€œThere is no Church document needed. It’s logical isn’t it?ā€ And, ā€œWhy should a Church mind such a private business like having sex?ā€ *

Well, so they think. So, they are both no ā€œreal Catholicsā€ anymore I’d say.*

And my SIL who is not Catholic has been attending Church from Christmas of last year to date!!

So as they say YES VIRGINA THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS!!😃

Yes great! šŸ™‚

Never encountered that really here in Austria…

'Though on Pentecost-Sunday there’ll be a big mass and come-together from the Catholic youth groups in Innsbruck, the capital of the county the Tyrol, where I live in.
Roughly 150 younge people are awaited.
However, I don’t know how ā€œfaithfulā€ they are… Most definitely not as faithful as many guys here in CAF. If I may be honest, I think this touches quite often fundamentalism.

But don’t get me wrong! I mean that positivly! I am also a ā€œfundamentalistā€ meaning my fundament is the Holy Bible and I try to follow its rules as best as I can, because I love my Lord, Saviour and Redeemer Christ Jesus. This is what my pastor said why he was proud to be labled by the people as fundamentalist! šŸ˜‰
  • Besides that you Catholics here have also the ST and the Magesterium as your fundament.

No but the church does teach about pre-martial sex and morality.
And my dad said similar things. And, "These are all Church laws. The Holy Bible is a piece of Scripture that grants freedom. -
No disrespect towards your father, but his statement is seriously flawed and contradictory. How does one separate the mystical Body of Christ (Church) from His Holy Word (Bible)? His statement would border this:

These are all state and federal laws. The U.S. Consitution is a document which grants freedom.

How does on separate the State from the U.S. Constitution, thus how does one separate the Church from the Word? Problem I encounter with many Protestants is the belief the church and Bible are pitted against each other.
Especially all those threats about grave sins and other sins which the CC is full of are pure ā€˜nonsense’."
Yeah and did not Jesus found a church for sinners?
Again…that is like saying: I believe in the U.S. Constitution but not the State.

Sounds reasonable, nicea! šŸ™‚
But what shall I do about it?
After about 50 years of going faithfully with Jesus and His Church, he started to reject the Catholic Church more and more, and is now at a point where he sympatises with the Swiss Reformators and the Reformed Church - having a stage where he was more Lutheran in thinking.
The last ā€œstageā€ā€™ would be becoming a Baptist like me. Not that I would have anything against that but I am of course also not malicious - thus I sometimes charge him with what I learn here about the CC in my talks when going for a walk with him.
And I don’t even dare to talk about my mom concerning the Catholic Church…
She even made her own religion which consists progressing by working on oneself (also so psycho-therapy) - and my sis is even radicalising moms ā€œreligionā€ and became an extremily anti-christian (and also anti-Catholic) atheist. Even for mom, my sister’s opinion concerning religion goes too far, I can hear sometimes in talks between them.

i keep saying this ā€œreligionā€ does have parts of Scientology in it. - Without ever being in the Scientology Church, I know for sure.

Esdra, if you don’t mind me saying it seems that because we are RC and go to Church and know our faith that should somehow make us innune to sin or something:confused:

I am not a perfect Catholic somedays not even a good one. I am a sinner Esdra. I pray that people do not judge the word of God or him being the living Christ on me.

Because you see my friend, I am not the living Christ, I am not the Holy Spirit that is perfect guiding and teaching the Church. I am just a sinner trying to do what I am asked to do.

Every single day we say it it Church this: I confess to Almighty God and to you my brothers and sister to forgive me for what I HAVE DONE and for what I have FAILED to do. Not the exact words but you get my point.

I understand that I am to stand up for Christ and do my part. But please don’t judge the word of God and his Church for us sinners who are not yet perfected in Christ. We are trying but we fail daily.

I have a little secret to share with you my friend, the closer I come to God the harder it is for me not to sin. Trust me on that, The closer we become to God the more the devil wants us. You can take that to the bank.

Uhm, rinnie,

that’s really a very nice post, but I think I don’t get the context.
Do you think I am not aware that I am not at all perfect and also a sinner that need God’s forgiveness daily?
Please provide the context…

Just you need to give us Catholic’s who are where others are at yet a break here buddy thats all.

Many Catholic’s have so much to learn. When you are a Catholic you never quit learning the word of God until the day he takes you out.

Indeed, and I think this goes for EVERY religion when you take it seriously.
You can’t ā€œknowā€ all the Word of God.

And I think also the Apostles and the Early Church had to struggle with ā€œthe worldā€. Just as we faithful (all denominations meant) do.

Esdra I am done with you, you are a thief and you make me so mad:mad: Everytime I talk to you, you STEAL a little piece of my heart.

How can such a family come up with such a great kid like you, so young and so interested in learning the word of God.

So thats it, get over here so I can adopt you and get it over with!!!😃

Trust me Buddy no harder then the Priest are doing today. How would you like to be a Priest and give up your life for God and have the added pressure of what the Priests that sinned against God and his Church did.

They are blammed every single day. How do you think it feels when they did not one thing wrong and are called Child Mol. etc horrible names. And they are inocent.

I can’t tell you how many Catholic’s left the CC because they could not stand up for the CC and God because of what a few that the devil got to did. But I will stand up for the Holy Spirit and my God and my Church,

SIn of others does not bring that sin on Christ or his Church. Unfortunately thats who suffers.

Oh, I really love you! šŸ™‚
I’ve always wanted to go to the US. - But now it’s too late, after a looooooong search I found finally a job I really like and I think I can’t go away now just like this!

Yeah, don’t you wanna make holidays in Innsbruck this summer? (or anywhere other in Austria, i have a railway ticket where I can travel througout Austria for a fixed price for a year!) - So we could meet once? šŸ™‚
I mean, I’d also invite you to my home, but I think (as I am still living with my parents), mom’d not be happy to have a ā€œbigotā€ Catholic (Her words, for everyone who is religious.) in her house.

I don’t know, I don’t know. :sigh:
Dad once told me, ā€œYou know, son, I was when I was your age, like you searching and believingā€ ('though of course not a Baptist! ;))

True, true. And the sad thing is that these people quit with religion completely. (Being a Baptist I was always interested in and sincerely thought that at least some of them go to us. - But this doesn’t happen!)
I don’t dare to think what’ll happen to them at the End of Days…

How I would love to go to Innsbruck. It has the best Ice Cream:D
Cool, you’ve already been in Innsbruck?
I am at the moment sitting in an office there! šŸ˜‰
Do you mean the ice cream in the Museumstrasse, in the so called ā€œEis Grotteā€?
That’s marvellous ice-cream. mhhhm yummy šŸ™‚

I am not sure but it sounds about right. There was a balcony where muscians played. It was wonderful. We only had a day with a tour but it has stuck in my mind. I loved the Churches. We went with a Youth Group for the 2000 Youth Day in Rome. Salsburg was another place we went and did the Sound of Music Tour. As for the ice cream, my sons still talk about it.

I see. Sounds like a very interesting tour. Oh, and it’s Salzburg, **not **Salsburg. šŸ˜‰

Stay with your testimony to your Baptist friends. The Baptist denom is one of the best sources of converts to the Church…and I am one of them:)

Dear brother pismopal,

I think that you should know that I am
still Catholic (meaning never declined so far). [Catholic by birth.] šŸ˜‰

And don’t forget that Baptists here in Austria are a VERY small minority. And that you can’t compare European Baptitists with the US ones. (Ask Contarini, he can much better than I explain you the differences. - Great poster by the way. It’s always nice conversing with him. ;))
