uhm…theres a whole laundry list in the celtic and norse faiths, but the ones i worship are

danu (mother goddess - celtic)
dagda (father god - celtic)
brighid (healing/water goddess - celtic and norse)(but brighid had a diffrent name in the norse)
So there are lots of gods and goddesses and anyone who wishes to practise Wiccan can choose whichever ones they want to worship??

And how do you know the gods and goddesses are pleased with the worship offered to them??

yes and i can only hope and pray that i am pleasing them, although im sure if i really ticked my deities off, they would let me know 🙂

😃 No worries.

So do your gods/goddesses interact with each other? Like are there stories of them like in mythology I studied in Highschool?
yes they interact, mother goddess and father god (pretty simple, no offense though)

and i think the only kind of mythology thats really popular is greek mythology

Sorry to skip around but…
  1. It is only by preparing our minds to be as Gods that we can ultimately attain godhead.
So does this mean that reincrnation, if you’re good/right/lucky/somethingelse will eventually reincarnate you as a god as well?

in some diffrent relgions yes they do bealive that, but for a wiccan, when we die our souls go to summerland. Which is either the christian version of “heaven and hell” if your good and have lived a good life then you go to a “resort” but if you’ve lived a really bad life…your screwed

and your there in summerland until you go back to earth

Hmmm ok.

As a Catholic, I believe there is one God, our Creator. I worship Him as He gave me life, and I try and do His will so I get to spend eternity with Him when I die.

Why do you worship Danu and Dagda? How do you know they exist?

I know God exists by the many revelations through history that are recorded in the Bible, and also through His incarnate birth as Jesus.

If Wiccans believe they simply die and come back as something else, what is the point of choosing a god or goddess to worship?

What did Danu and Dagda do for this earth of ours?

🙂 heheh i always love answering this type of question…

but the answer for alot of the questions is one word…faith

and the danu, dagda question…i bealive strongly that they have done the same thing as your christian god done

Ok, so reguardless of your actions you still go to summerland until you are reincarnated?

And what did that quote mean, cause I guess I didn’t get it.

okay summerland has a dual aspect, its like heaven and hell in one place…

if your good, you’ll be treated well in summerland
if your bad, yeah its gonna be like the christian hell

is that more understandable?

Yes, much. 🙂 I probably shouldn’t try to figure things out at 4am LOL.

How could Danu and Dagda create us, and God?

How could Danu and Dagda create us, and God?
how did your god creat us, and everything?

and the christian god i dont have an answer for, maybe your god created my gods, or my gods created yours, or maybe there two seperate yet equally valid aspects…i honestly don’t have an answer

like i said alot of things in religion must be held upon faith

hey ya’ll, this isn’t the best thread i’ve made but…

if anyone here has a question for me about paganism or wicca i will be happy to answer as long as its a mature question
Hi reborn_pagan. I’m curious why you chose wicca/paganism as your religion. I’ve asked this of other wiccans/pagans, and the answer I get most of the time is along the lines of ‘because it makes no demands on me like Christianity’. I’ve been told that the gods they worship don’t care how they worship them or even if they worship them. They worship their gods (and let me say, when they say “the gods” in the context of worship they are almost always talking about worshipping the goddess, never the god) because it makes them feel good to do so.

In short, the wiccans I have known come across as desiring to have a connection to the Creator (which is what the word religion means), but they want it on their own terms, with no obligations to or demands from the Creator.

So, what is your reason for choosing paganism as your religion, and why did you choose the particular gods you have?

i chose wicca as my relgion just because it felt right for me, i’ve expiermented with other relgions but none of them stuck to me as much as wicca.

and in my opinion the people you mentioned jst take wicca as veinly as possible thinking that it is jst a game and not a serious relgious path

i woship the goddess danu, but i also worship dagda becaues in my opinion half is good, but whole is better…

does this answer your question?

I used to work with a girl who said she was Wiccan. She called herself a “witch” and referred to her “coven” occasionally. None of the wiccans I have personally met are male. This girl once adamantly said that a wiccan witch is not the same a witches in the Bible.

Is wicca mostly a female religion with few males? If so, why do you think that is?

What do covens do and are they all females in them?

What is different about witches in the Bible and wiccan witches?

If they are so different, why are they both called witches?

When I was too sleepy I tried to ask,
What does this statement from the wiccan code of chivalry mean?
Quote:
3. It is only by preparing our minds to be as Gods that we can ultimately attain godhead.
You said,
" yes wiccans do have a set of rules, its called the rede and its on my signature," There is no link in your signature, surely the rede is not as short as your signature?

yes mostly a female relgion, and i think its because of the dianic tradition that started with the feminest movment

i dont know what covens do im solitary

the witches in the bible were evil 🙂 the real witches were actually healers

witches is a nickname for wiccans…some people are plane idiots though, they take the name of wiccans and use it in vein

the #3. code i’ll do it on another reply sry

well thats the basis of the wiccan rede
