Just a few quick notes related to this discussion: If you are a Christian and you want to refer to Jesus in Arabic you should call him Yesu’a (يسوع), because this is how Christians refer to Him. 'Isa is the name Muslims have given Him, but relates most closely to the Jesus depicted in the Qur’an, who is a mere prophet subordinate in rank to Muhammad and not the true Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, and of one substance/essence with Him, as we know the Savior to truly be! It is useful to refer to Him as “'Isa” only if you are trying to evangelize Muslims, who would not otherwise recognize Jesus in any way. They only know their 'Isa, not their Savior. They call Him “al-Masih” (the Messiah), but it means something very different than when we say it.

Since we know the true Jesus, it also does not make sense to use the honorific “PBUH” after His name, as Muslims do. We do not need to wish peace upon the Savior, because the Savior is the source of all our peace, and never deficient in it in any way (He is God, after all).

Sorry, that was my fault. I just wanted clarification on hamba’s point, but it wasn’t something that IMO needed a whole separate thread.

Hmm… not judge when he returns but instead rule the world until the day of Judgment.

Since the topic is indeed the Islamic view of Mary, there is something which I would like to quote from the translation of the Qur’an:

Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah hath chosen thee and purified thee- chosen thee above the women of all nations.
“O Mary! worship Thy Lord devoutly: Prostrate thyself, and bow down (in prayer) with those who bow down.” … (Surah Al-e-Imran, Verses 42&43)

Mary did indeed submit to the will of the Lord and this of course makes her a Muslim.

As has been pointed out to you about a million times, CHRISTIANS DO PROSTRATE THEMSELVES BEFORE GOD (particularly in the eastern churches; in the west, the genuflection developed as the culturally-appropriate gesture), so you really can stop bringing this up now.

Of course, you won’t, so I will now be deleting my subscription to this thread before you post the giant picture of the Muslim at prayer that you always post when you introduce this topic, or start ranting about our Thanksgiving dinners, or whatever other insane nonsense you can come up with. Life is too short to spend very much time entertaining you when there are sane Muslims here who are actually able to argue coherently. May God bless you with the sense to join their ranks someday.

Sorry, that is **NOT **what God of the Bible say or instruct **Gabriel **to say and this one out of many reasons the koran IS NOT THE word of God.

There was **ONE **Angel, and **not **“angels” and His Name is Gabriel.

The Angel Gabriel did NOT SAY prostrate, bow… etc.

Luke 1:26-28

**In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” **

It is there term and their understanding of things. We are under no obligation to do so. In fact, there are reasons that we should not.
 
Can you post your Christmas dinner pictures so my deja vu is complete? 😃
 
Another reason not to do it, and the one that first came to mind is the classic: See, even the infidels are wishing peace to Muhammed et al. Some Muslims are great at twisting stuff into propaganda
