I remember it well and it’s all “bulldinky”.

Yeah JC, Hamba does that because he probably things it will make our lips curl, if you get my meaning… …

Sometimes I get tired of the same ol’ postings from certain muslim members.

Mary did indeed submit to the will of the Lord and this of course makes her a Muslim.
**I tolerate quite a bit of nonsense from muslim posters on this board, **BUT **they are a few things I DO NOT tolerate and one of them is attaching the name “muslim” to Mother Mary. **

It makes me despise islam even more.

Perhaps Hamba can explain why, if Blessed Mother was a Muslim (in the following Islam sense), that she did not mention Muhammad or anything of Islamic ideology when she appeared to Juan Diego at Guadalupe (in the year 1531) or Bernadette Soubiroux at Lourdes (in the year 1858). In fact, she had a Rosary when she appeared to St. Bernadette and asked her to have the ** Catholic priests** to build a chapel at that spot in Lourdes. If the Rosary and Catholic Church were in such grave error as to be teaching “shirk” then one would think that the mother of Jesus would correct such a grievous error.

Islam means to submit to the Will of the Creator.

A follower of Islam is a mu-Islam → Muslim.

Someone who does not submit to the Will of the Creator is not a Muslim and therefore does not get to enter Paradise.

Mary submitted to the Will of the Creator and is therefore a Muslim.

From a Muslim’s point of view, saying that Mary was not a Muslim would be to say that she does not get to enter Paradise… and this certainly would be doing her great wrong as nothing could be further from the truth.

But Blessed Mother certainly did not follow Islamic theology as practiced by Muhammad or Muslims today. She absolutely knew (and still knows and teaches) that her Son is God. Blessed Mother is already in Paradise.

As seeing you are a Muslim, how can I verify what you say is true???

Your post is bulldinky!

Your religion of islam cannot stand on it’s own and is looking into Biblical persons to do so. How pittyfull.

If the OT & the 4 Gospels were **NEVER **written, islam would not exist.

I take a big offence islam calling the Blessed Mother Mary a muslim.

Bump 🙂

(Just in case hamba didn’t see it the first time. 😉

It seems to me that Catholics have an obsession with these alleged apparitions of Mary which keep cropping up every so often.

How on earth do they KNOW that these apparitions are indeed of Mary and not of something or someone else?

If you examine closely the different images of these so-called sightings, you can easily see that they do not all look alike.

And so, which ones among these different apparitions are the supposed “real deal”?

BTW, Muslims too believe in the existence of apparitions… Only thing is that we call them the work of the jinn.

Because the Church tests such apparitions and the visionaries involved. Also, they do not contradict God’s teachings through Scripture and His Church. (Unlike Muhammad’s revelations, which contradict previous Scripture, but Muslims have no trouble believing. Perhaps Muhammad’s apparition was indeed the work of the jinn. 🤷

Far be it for me to seem partial to Hamba2han given the vileness of some of his posts, but I think he brings up a good point and I would add that the idea that no approved apparition contradicts the apostolic faith is not one that would be shared by the Orthodox, as far as I can tell from essays like this one. I am not saying that anyone should not be devoted to an approved apparition if they feel that they are truly from God, but this idea the importance of apparitions in starting certain devotions, giving their blessing to certain points of doctrine, etc. is certainly not shared across all of apostolic Christianity.

Personally, I prefer Zeitun, because the apparition did not SAY anything, so there’s very little to have a problem with in it! 👍

Now back to the regular bickering that Islamic topics seem to require here…

My point in mentioning the apparitions is not about them “giving their blessing to certain points of doctrine”, but the fact that they all seem to confirm Christianity and Jesus’ Divinity as a whole. I have never heard of any visions confirming Muhammad or any of his revelations. If Jesus is not God, then I would expect any apparitions from God to confirm that fact.

One doesn’t even have to go with just the Marian apparitions. (Although I mentioned them because the thread was about Blessed Mother and whether or not she is a Muslim.) Jesus himself has appeared to a number of people (i.e. St. Padre Pio) and, to my knowledge, He has never once confirmed Muhammad or an Islamic revelation.

I don’t think Blessed Mother said anything at Knock, Ireland either. But someone can correct me if I’m wrong. 🙂

A bad thing.
Jinn
by Alan G. Hefner
In Arabian and Muslim folklore jinns are ugly and evil demons having supernatural powers which they can bestow on persons having powers to call them up. In the Western world they are called genies.
Legend has it that King Solomon possessed a ring, probably a diamond, with which he called up jinns to help his armies in battle. The concept that this king employed the help of jinns may have originated from 1 Kings 6:7, “And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought there, so there was neither hammer nor axe nor and tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.”
In Islam, jinns are fiery spirits (Qur’an 15:27) particularly associated with the desert. While they are disruptive of human life, they are considered worthy of being saved. A person dying in a state of great sin may be changed into a jinni in the period of a barzakh, separation or barrier.
The highest of the jinns is Iblis, formerly called Azazel, the prince of darkness, or the Devil. The jinns were thought by some to be spirits that are lower than angels because they are made of fire and are not immortal. They can take on human and animal shapes to influence men to do good or evil. They are quick to punish those indebted to them who do not follow their many rules.
In the “Arabian Nights” jinns or genies came from Aladdin’s Lamp.
There are several myths concerning the home of the jinns. According to Persian mythology some of them live in a place called Jinnistan. Others say jinns live with other supernatural beings in the Kaf, mystical emerald mountains surrounding the earth.

Wasn’t the Virgin Mary also a Muslim?

Please inform me more on this specific subject.
She was a Jewish young maiden. She was not Muslim as the religion didn’t even exist until oveer 600 years later!

In Western societies, the jinn would be known as fairies, elves, leprechauns, spirits, ghosts, goblins and the like.

Indeed, there is a more than fair chance that so-called extra-terrestrials who seemingly travel in UFOs are in fact members of the jinn family.

As to whether they are good or bad, they are similar to humans in that some are good and others are evil.
