8 out of 10 also. To be fair it’s really more like 7.5 since I recognized one of the more distinctive habits but guessed after narrowing it down to two orders.

I also had 8/10. I never even knew I knew things like that! 😃

7 out of 10 for me, and I’m not familiar with some of those Orders, let alone their Habits.

3 out of 10, not too bad for never having heard of half of them.

Some of them are smaller Orders so a bit unusual or less common. One of them (I think) was the same Order that Blessed Mother Theresa belonged to, or maybe started (one of the two).

I find it interesting that these are all photographs except for #7 ( the Carthusians). I know they live as hermits with no contact with the outside world, perhaps not even allowing themselves to be photographed. (?)

I think you’re right there. This is why they picked a painting. There are photos of Carthusians (checked on Google). It might be that they don’t as a rule allow photographs. Pretty disciplined. Probably not unlike Trappists (maybe they’re the same). I think Carthusians are slightly stricter, more intense in rule, than Cistercians (?)

The image of the Carthusians in the quiz is on Wikipedia and is in the public domain so that might be why it’s a painting. If you search Google for images of Carthusian monks there are plenty of photos, so it might just be what images they had rights to reproduce.

9 out of 10. I missed the very last one.
Funny thing is I had heard of an order that wore a distinctive pink habit, but could remember the name of the order. Little did I know that there are a couple different communities that wear pink/rose.

The other one that threw me was the Franciscan. Since each branch might wear gray, brown, white, etc. the blue habit threw me off.

The Franciscan Immaculate nuns (in light blue) seem to be mainly contemplative. Though they do venture out their convents. Never sure whether they are completely contemplative or not. The colours of the F.F.I (friars) tend to vary in colour between grey and blue. The dark blueof the St. Vincent De Paul habits are pretty much the standard colour for nuns in the U.K across the board, at least for the ones who attend in parish services - blue tends to be the norm, from what I’ve seen - either darkish blue or normal dress with a little chain crucifix.

I never thought of ā€œGoogle imagingā€ Carthusian monks, but I guess you’re right. However, many of them appear to be aerial photographs taken from quite a distance, or random pictures of them in prayer, obscuring their faces with those massive hoods. They certainly don’t ham it up for the cameras.😃

The Holy Spirit Sisters of Perpetual Adoration (the Pink Sisters) had a convent here in Austin about 30 years ago before they moved to Nebraska. The road where there convent was located was even named for them. (Exposition Boulevard).
