Quran says Allah has not made for any man two hearts in his body.

To the Seeker, I am sorry. I cannot remember what was in my mind when I wrote that post about chapter 112 being a miracle. I cannot recall it now. I will look back and will try to remember if I can. Then I will present an answer. Until then please forgive me.

Your subtelty is appciated, but unnessessary. The Arabic Quran doesn’t exist, but I am willing to discuss the one you have.
I haven’t been online much the past week and I really can’t waste the little time I have on arguments at this level and caliber.
I am not here to get involved in childish discussions with childish approaches and attitudes.

I’ll answer which ever points you made that meet a minimum level of intelligence (I have to say) briefly, then close the issue of The lowest/closest point on earth and the grammar issue of too which I kept running in the hope of inviting maturer discussions from maturer members of this board.

Not only is Arabic the ‘purest’ most powerful of languages around today but its scholars are the most learned in any language.
1- ‘Purest’.
I ‘tried’ explaining that to you but of course you weren’t able to understand.
Any word can be checked against 19 Awzaan and hence can be known if it is Arabic origin or not. Hence there can be non-Arabic words but we can always know which are and which aren’t. This is a s pure as any language can get.
2-Grammar
Quoting one Jewish Rabbi/Scholar.
The rules of the Hebrew grammer adverted to in the fragments of this work possessed by us - only a little more than the introduction has been preserved - like wise reveal the influence of the school of Arabic grammarians.
“The two volumes The Book of Roots and The Book of Embroidery (his figure for grammar) exist only in the original** Arabic** and a medieval Hebrew translation.”
-What Do Orientalists Say About The Arab Grammarians?
The Arab grammarians were excellent linguists in both the realm of phonetics and in that of grammar and syntax. Jonathan Owens’ The Foundation of Grammar (1988) as well as a new book just completed by him on medieval Arabic grammar have convincingly demonstrated that, in many ways, the Arab grammarians were** way ahead of their time**.
In case you didn’t understand the above. The Torah of your own Bible was reconstructed/corrected by Jewish scholars only through the help of Arabic/Islamic scholars.
3- Concerning the Arabic of the Qur’aan and the presence of non-Arabic words. I explained above partially. The only point that could be made here is if the Qur’aan used non-Arabic words that the Arabs didn’t KNOW of at the time. Otherwise this point, even if it did exist, is purely artificial.

There are about 3-4 non-Arabic words in the Qur’aan off the top of my head and trying to make the argument that this is some problem is really very childish.
For example, Haman the advisor to Pharaoh has a non-Arabic name. How would the Qur’aan refer to him without using a non-Arabic word ? We need to use a minimum level of intelligence here.
4- Adna meaning lowest not Closest.
Close comes from the root QRB - Aqrab is the right word. Adna means lowest, less, lower etc. The word Close (Stem QRB) is used 65 times in the Qur’aan to precisely this meaning.
Close - QRB.
002.035 - taqrab[a] - go near.
003.167 - aqrabu - closer
016.077- aqrabu - closer/quicker.
018.024 - aqraba - closer.

Adna - Lower - 12 occurrences.
053.009 - Adna - Less.
058.007 - Adna - fewer - less
073.020 - Adna - less.

Incidentally, there is no creation starting point. There is no Adam and Eve alone in heaven and a serpent (who is above all cattle !! Biblically). This is the Qur’aan/Islam. You will have to try and think out side this simplistic approach of the usual fairy tales. All was Created together. There is Kun (Be!) and there is a creation and there is a creation after creation. Comming into exsitence is simply the act of coming out gradually from Al Ghayb (The unknown/unseen) into the world of ‘Knowing’. These concepts are bit too advanced for this level of argument .

End of Part (1).

Part (2)

Ill just quote Gibbs first here then elaborate at the bottom of this post:
Gibbs: according to his own words, there is no parallel in history to the Qur’an; that no person or speech ever had the impact and power of the Qur’an…

Arabic predates Aramaic? Stop it. You have embarrassed yourself a few times, but this looks bad.

The difference between a learned approach and the one you are using is this.

The argument for Arabic coming from Aramaic/Hebrew are :
1- There are Aramaic/Hebrew documents predating Arabic ones.
This is natural because Arabs were nomads that didn’;t leave behind written documents/statues/tablets etc. This is not ‘proof’ this is evidence only.
2- Missionaries and priests assumed that the Qur’aan isn’t the word of God and hence Arabic must have come from Aramaic. This is just an assumption not a fact and it is a highly subjective one.
The arguments for Aramaic/Hebrew coming from Arabic.
1- A system cannot come from Chaos but a system can degenerate into chaos. Arabic is highly systematic, Aramaic/Hebrew are totally - NOT systematic.
The highly systematic structure of Arabic implies that IT cannot have come from an unsystematic language. Grammar (i3rab and taSreef) is almost mathematical in its nature and is so highly systematic that they are considered formulas. However, if ones uses Arabic and neglects the system then it can degenerate into similar sounding labguages like Aramaic/Hebrew.
2 - Migration paths. Populations migrated from Yemen, to Arabia, to Mesopotamia to Palestine/Syria then onto Egypt. Languages and Dialects would travel this same path. From Yemen/Arabia to Mesopotamia where Arabic would degenerate into something less then onto Palestine where it would degenerate further into Hebrew and Syria where it would degenerate into Aramaic. Language cannot travel backwards only forward with the migrating populations.
3- Finally, there are words in Arabic/Aramaic and Hebrew whose origins only exist in ancient Arabic and are unknown in the two other languages. This would make Arabic the source/origin. For example the word Malaak (Angel) in all 3 languages. This is the oldest form in Hebrew/Aramaic. In Arabic you can go further back - to Uluk (message) from which Ma’lak (messenger) comes and then onto the new form Malaak.

In fact, not only was the Hebrew of the Torah corrected by Jewish Rabbis using Arab/Islamic linguists but some concepts in the Bible would not have been understood had it not been for Arabic - angel (Malaak) being one of them.
I could correct many of the errors contradictions in Genesis using the Qur’aan for example.

But I’m no longer alone in stating that Aramaic/Hebrew come from Arabic not Vice Versa, some of your own orientalists now say so too. Just search around and you will find their quotes on this issue.

Let me close this by quoting one of your own anti-Islamic scholars.

------------------------------------------------------------
Even some scholars, who were both non-Arab and non-Muslim, like the Orientalist, Gibb, said, “No man has ever played on that deep tone instrument with such power, such oldness, such range of emotional effects…” Later he said, “To anyone who has not heard the sonorous majesty of an Arab reciting the Qur’an, it is impossible to convey what the Book lacks in English, French, or German.” In this statement, Gibb actually came very close to admitting that the origin of the Qur’an cannot be human, but that it must be divine in origin, even though he did not say it outright. This is because, according to his own words, there is no parallel in history to the Qur’an; that no person or speech ever had the impact and power of the Qur’an.
------------------------------------------------------------
This was one of your OWN Christian critics of the Qur’aan. Naturally there were others but this will do for now.

Now, if there are maturer slightly more learned members of this board I will be more than happy to discuss anything with them, otherwise I will have to ignore posts or at least answer them briefly.

This is natural because Arabs were nomads that didn’;t leave behind written documents/statues/tablets etc. This is not ‘proof’ this is evidence only.
This is most definitely proof. Proof is “factual evidence that helps to establish the truth of something.” (source) The fact that Aramaic predates Arabic is a matter of the impartial historical record. To ignore this because you don’t like it or it doesn’t conform to your picture of the world just makes you look like a fool.
2- Missionaries and priests assumed that the Qur’aan isn’t the word of God and hence Arabic must have come from Aramaic. This is just an assumption not a fact and it is a highly subjective one.
How is this even a point? Missionaries also translated the Bible into the Arabic from the original Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew.

The arguments for Aramaic/Hebrew coming from Arabic.
1- A system cannot come from Chaos but a system can degenerate into chaos. Arabic is highly systematic, Aramaic/Hebrew are totally - NOT systematic.

This is the biggest joke I’ve ever seen. As a linguist, I am not sure if I should pity you for your ignorance or pity myself for the time I’m surely wasting on someone who has already clearly made up their mind in favor of such an obviously false and untenable position. This is no form of argument, as it has no relation not only to the topic at hand, it is completely ignorant of even the most basic facts that apply to ANY LANGUAGE (Arabic, Aramaic, Hebrew, Thai, Swahili…you name it):

1- All languages are systematic.
2- All languages are governed by their respective “grammars”, with the grammar of one language not being any more “evolved”, “complete”, or for that matter “degenerative” than any other. (In linguistics, “grammar” is the set of logical and structural rules that govern the composition of sentences, phrases, and words in any given natural language.)
3- All languages are equally suited for the communicative tasks of their speakers. There is no “deficient” or “perfectly mathematical” natural language- all natural languages evolve, but none lack the grammatical rules that make communication possible. What non-linguists might call a “lack” of this or that, linguists would refer to as “variation”. Languages can only be properly said to vary from one another, which carries no value judgment.
This makes absolutely no sense. You clearly have no knowledge of the linguistic history of Arabia, not that your case would be helped if you did, so I don’t blame you for just making stuff up and posting it anyway. That’s what I would do if I had no linguistic training but a lot of preconceived ideas of how I’d like the world to be.

This proves absolutely nothing at all. Do you have a source for this example, by the way? I would like to read it from some reputable linguistic journal, thesis, confrence paper, etc. One borrowing (if proven) does not make Arabic the parent language of Aramaic anymore than the many borrowings from Aramaic into Arabic make Aramaic the parent of Arabic. That is not how language works.
This is a religious, not a linguistic argument. There is no such thing as “correcting” a language, and certainly not with the grammar of another language, even a related language like Arabic. There is nothing to “correct” to begin with.
But I’m no longer alone in stating that Aramaic/Hebrew come from Arabic not Vice Versa, some of your own orientalists now say so too. Just search around and you will find their quotes on this issue.
If you are going to make arguments based on linguistics, you must quote LINGUISTS, not orientalists. The two are not necessarily the same, and in those cases where they are, it still remains the case that any reputable linguist must divorce his own extra-linguistic interests from his professional work. I am a Christian, but I do not make the claim that Arabic came from Syriac (or Amharic, Coptic, or any other Semitic language spoken by Christian people), because it is not linguistically sound. This is not, in fact, how Arabic or Syriac developed. There are cases where one language can be more or less developed out of another (as is the case with Maltese, which developed from the Siculo-Arabic or Sicilian Arabic dialect spoken in the region after the Muslim conquest of 902 AD), but is just one of the ways in which linguistic variation and be shown within the general framework of historical linguistics wherein related languages share a common origin in a proto-language. This is the case with all Semitic languages (Maltese included), and indeed all languages.

Please stop spreading your unlearned, ahistorical, Arab supremacist garbage around here. Everyone here deserves better, no matter their religion.

I sense your frustration. After all, you aren’t accustomed to getting beaten this badly, and it annoys you.
I am not here to get involved in childish discussions with childish approaches and attitudes.
Really? You should read some of your comments.
I’ll answer which ever points you made that meet a minimum level of intelligence (I have to say) briefly, then close the issue of The lowest/closest point on earth and the grammar issue of too which I kept running in the hope of inviting maturer discussions from maturer members of this board.
Actually, a third grader from Alabama could have put together a cogent response to your argument. I expected more from such a confident Muslim. I should have known better.
Not only is Arabic the ‘purest’ most powerful of languages around today but its scholars are the most learned in any language.
Says who? Arabs?
1- ‘Purest’.
I ‘tried’ explaining that to you but of course you weren’t able to understand. This is a s pure as any language can get.
I understood your linguistic mythology just fine. I simply refuted your argument with a few taps on my keyboard. There are 150 or more non-Arabic words in your Quran, and these words lend strong evidence to the argument against the Quran as either pure or inspired by God. You overlooked the point. Why does ‘Allah’ need Ethioptic, Romanian, Hebrew, et al. Needless to say, the Arabic of the Quran isn’t pure at all.
2-Grammar
Quoting one Jewish Rabbi/Scholar.
The rules of the Hebrew grammer adverted to in the fragments of this work possessed by us - only a little more than the introduction has been preserved - like wise reveal the influence of the school of Arabic grammarians.
So there was Arabic influence on Hebrew grammar, in the opinion of an un-named Rabbi? That’s your evidence?! You can quote this Rabbi verbatim, but can’t name him? Curious.
"The two volumes The Book of Roots and The Book of Embroidery…
How is this used as evidence to support your thesis of Arabic superiority and sequence of development? You are claiming that Arabic is pure and that it pre-dates Hebrew and Aramaic. I am still awaiting your evidence.
-What Do Orientalists Say About The Arab Grammarians?
…the Arab grammarians were** way ahead of their time**.
And way ahead of the Arabs were the Italians, Byzantines and Hellenes of Classical Greece. You still haven’t made a point against me or a connection that identifies Arabic as predating Hebrew or Aramaic. Nor have you demonstrated the purity of the Quran. I’ll hold my breath and wait, ok?
3- Concerning the Arabic of the Qur’aan and the presence of non-Arabic words. The only point that could be made here is if the Qur’aan used non-Arabic words that the Arabs didn’t KNOW of at the time.
Not only is this a bad analysis, but makes my point. A real linguistic miracle would be that the Quran did use words that the Arabs didn’t know at the time. Now **that **would be a miracle.
For example, Haman the advisor to Pharaoh has a non-Arabic name. How would the Qur’aan refer to him without using a non-Arabic word ? We need to use a minimum level of intelligence here
.

First of all, there are between 150-225 non-Arabic words, and proper names like Haman don’t even top the list. Also, Haman wasn’t anywhere near Egypt at the time of the Exodus, or any other time. Your prophet confused the court of Pharoah with that of Persia.
4- Adna meaning lowest not Closest.
Notice that the Muslim says that ‘adna’ means ‘lowest’ then gives citations from the Quran and none of his own translations read ‘lowest’…lol…Moyadd, do you even read your own posts? The Arabic word ‘adna’ means ‘nearer’ or ‘closer’ and the Quran 30:2-5 says nothing about the ‘lowest point on the earth’. Also, the battle between the Persions and Byzantines was over jerusalem, which is **not **the lowest point on the earth. Either way, the Muslim is wrong.
Incidentally, there is no creation starting point. There is no Adam and Eve alone in heaven and a serpent (who is above all cattle !! Biblically). This is the Qur’aan/Islam.
Really? Shall I quote you from the haditha of your prophet? Apparently, your prophet says [Bukhari 4.54.414] that **first **there was nothing but Allah, **then **he created his throne above water that was already in existence. After that he **wrote **a book, and then **finally **he created the heavens and the earth. Notice folks that in an earlier post Moyadid claimed that Allah ‘does not write’, yet here in Islamic sources his own prophet refutes him!
You will have to try and think out side this simplistic approach of the usual fairy tales
Fairy tales? You mean like a Allah’s she-camel leaping out of a rock? That kind of fairy tale?
All was Created together.
Your Quran says that Allah took a few days to create it all and not all at once. You ought to stick to your sources. You want to discuss the hadith literature, or Tabari on the subject of what came first and when?
There is Kun (Be!) and there is a creation and there is a creation after creation. Comming into exsitence is simply the act of coming out gradually from Al Ghayb (The unknown/unseen) into the world of ‘Knowing’. These concepts are bit too advanced for this level of argument.
Actually, any basic introduction to Greek stocism or the first 600 years of Christianity will enlighten our readers on the origins of the subject matter you pretend to have knowledge of.
End of Part (1).
Please tell me part two is more exciting!

Lothair and all: Do you love others as God loves them?

Return, then, and cleave wholly unto God, and cleanse thine heart from the world and all its vanities, and suffer not the love of any stranger to enter and dwell therein.
Not until thou dost purify thine heart from every trace of such love can the brightness of the light of God shed its radiance upon it, for to none hath God given more than one heart.
This, verily, hath been decreed and written down in His ancient Book. And as the human heart, as fashioned by God, is one and undivided, it behoveth thee to take heed that its affections be, also, one and undivided.
Cleave thou, therefore, with the whole affection of thine heart, unto His love, and withdraw it from the love of any one besides Him, that He may aid thee to immerse thyself in the ocean of His unity, and enable thee to become a true upholder of His oneness.
God is My witness. My sole purpose in revealing to thee these words is to sanctify thee from the transitory things of the earth, and aid thee to enter the realm of everlasting glory, that thou mayest, by the leave of God, be of them that abide and rule therein…
(Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 237)

The Thread started with Sam finding some mistake in the Quran. That some child had two hearts. It was a rare case. There was No need to dig deeply into these things. I was reading Bible OT Genesis Chapter five. There is written " God made them male and female" i.e. mankind was made man and woman.

Gen.5:2Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

But we see some who are neither male nor female. they are of neutral gender. Could this be looked upon a mistake in the Bible? Or a change in the God’s plan of creation?

The OP (Sam_777) should answer this question please, and forget about the two hearts…

The OP (Sam_777) should answer this question please, and forget about the two hearts…
Why do you think bio-sex persons as a creation of God!, I will give an example, their is a medical phenomenon known as Anophthalmia, where babies are born without eyes, the doctors investigated those defects and linked that to the mother exposure to pesticides in her first three months of pregnancy (when the eyes are developed), they found those cases mostly in rural areas near the farms, now WHO DEVELOPED THOSE PESTICIDES??? God or us…

Therefore I think the same thing would apply to bio-sex persons who born with such defect in their organs, because we humans have manipulated the environment around us and made it hazard for living, look at current diseases in the world from AIDS to current AH1N1…

Please don’t blame everything on God, He gave us the authority (Genesis 1:27-29), but sadly we’ve corrupted that authority.

But we see some who are neither male nor female. they are of neutral gender. Could this be looked upon a mistake in the Bible? Or a change in the God’s plan of creation?
I wouldn’t say anyone was created neuter. There is one sex or the other. Even if it is dysfunctional, and they become trans-gender in behavior, they are one or the other, --perhaps in need of therapy, if possible. But these things are all gone at death.
Then, the soul, without gender, continue to advances to God.

Quoting Moyadid:
Islamic ‘apologists’ haven’t been saying that the Qur’aan was ‘written’ by Allah. I think you mean it comes from Allah. Allah doesn’t write [emp mine]
.

Let’s take a look at the Quran [4:81]. In this verse, Allah **writes ** yaktubu; Rt. Kaf-Ta-Ba ] the deeds of those who mediate against the lone prophet of Islam. There are several other examples like 21:94 where Allah promises to write down the good deeds of the believers. In fact, Allah needs the angels to write for him too [cf. Q. 68:1]. Apparently, Allah plans on tormenting the critics of his poet, but has a bad memory so he writes things down so that he can recall them on judgment day [Q 19:79]. Allah writes down quite a bit, and the hadith support it. Allah writes goods deeds [Muslim 1.234] and in fact, Allah even credits the Muslims for good intentions. What a good deal that is!

Anyhow, there is more, but I think that makes the point. If the Muslim tries to come back and say, ‘Allah orders *angels *to do the writing’, I’ll be ready for him.

Hi Lothair,

you interpreted the word yaktubu (writes) in the literal sense, as in Allah (swt) himself is physically writing. But as you may be aware, the Quran has both clear and metaphorical verses. This is outlined in Surah 3:7:

“He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book: others are allegorical(Mutashabih). But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: “We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:” and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding.”

Certainly there are corporalist Muslims who believe Allah is a physical being possessing physical attributes like a face, hands, feet, and that he physically descends down and ascends up and jogs in heaven. Their understanding is based on an ostensive interpretation of the verses in the Quran such as “Allah’s hand is above their hands” (Qur’an 48:10)

However, as Verse 3:7 points out, some verses of the Quran are allegorical (mutashabih) because linguistically those verses can bear multiple meanings, and as we believe, we must refer back to the prophet and his family (Ahlul-bayt) to understand the meaning of those verses, and according to them Allah is not a physical being, nor does he posses physical attributes as the corporalists believe.

Imam Ali (as) makes this distinction in his first sermon as he describes Allah (swt):

"Whoever said in what is He, held that He is contained; and whoever said on what is He held He is not on something else. He is a Being but not through phenomenon of coming into being. He exists but not from non-existence. He is with everything but not in physical nearness. He is different from everything but not in physical separation. He acts but without connotation of movements and instruments. He sees even when there is none to be looked at from among His creation. He is only One, such that there is none with whom He may keep company or whom He may miss in his absence.

It is not known if Moses wrote the Pentateuch, but it is attributed to and developed from Him, and when Moses said “I am not eloquent” (Exodus 4:10) God said "See, I make you as God to Pharaoh; and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet. (Exodus 7:1)

John 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
5:47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

Likewise, Muhammad, in another verse, uttereth His protest against the people of that age. He saith: “Although they had before prayed for victory over those who believed not, yet when there came unto them, He of Whom they had knowledge, they disbelieved in Him. The curse of God on the infidels!”[Qur’án 2:89]
Reflect how this verse also implieth that the people living in the days of Muhammad were the same people who in the days of the Prophets of old contended and fought in order to promote the Faith, and teach the Cause, of God. And yet, how could the generations living at the time of Jesus and Moses, and those who lived in the days of Muhammad, be regarded as being actually one and the same people? Moreover, those whom they had formerly known were Moses, the Revealer of the Pentateuch, and Jesus, the Author of the Gospel. Notwithstanding, why did Muhammad say: “When He of Whom they had knowledge came unto them” – that is Jesus or Moses – “they disbelieved in Him?” Was not Muhammad to outward seeming called by a different name? Did He not come forth out of a different city? Did He not speak a different language, and reveal a different Law? How then can the truth of this verse be established, and its meaning be made clear?
(Baha’u’llah, The Kitab-i-Iqan, p. 150)

It is not known if Jesus ever did more than write in the dirt with a stick, but His inspiration gave us the Gospel, which is not corrupted, else how could Christians be called to account? Corruption is what the elaers of religion do in mis-interpreting the text with no authority to do so.

5:116. And behold! Allah will say **“O Jesus the son of Mary! didst thou say unto men, ‘worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah’?” **

5:117. **"Never said I to them aught except what Thou didst command me to say, to wit, ‘Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord’; and I was a witness over them whilst I dwelt amongst them; when Thou didst take me up, Thou wast the Watcher over them, and Thou art a Witness to all things. **(The Qur’an, Yusuf Ali tr.)

DavidMark, Thanks for using the Quran for some reason. I do not know if your post is relevant to the topic.

DavidMark, May I ask you a question please? Is the above translation by Yusuf Ali correct? What is the view of the Baha’i members about it? Specially the part that I bolded in Red?

I ask the other Muslim posters here to please see if the translated words " when Thou didst take me up " are the correct translation??

I like Yusuf Alí’s translation. What are your real beliefs, concerns and conceptions?
Be clear about them please, beause this should not be so confusing.
If you’re thinking that the body of Jesus went up, I disagree. That dust is still here.
He came down from heaven spiritually, but his body was born of Mary obviously.
We are talking about the Spirit of Truth that is pre-existent, Jesus was Ruh’u’lláh (The Spirit of God).
In John 8:58 He says ‘Before Abraham, I am’. This is part of the Gospel and the Qur’an accepts the Gospel. (I don’t know about some ‘Muslims’)
If you’re thinking He was not killed that day, you’re right: the heavenly Reality cannot be killed. That is what will return. But bodies are composed and compositions suffer de-composition. When He comes again, it will not be out of the sky!
Heavenly perfection will be joined with another body.

Hi there,

Just wanted to make a quick comment on this topic. I have read most of the messages related to this verse, As Moayidd explained about the meaning of the world QALB, he is absolutely right. The arabic words are very powerfull and have many meanings, particularly in this verse, if you read within the context you will realise what God is talking about.

However, even if we take this in the literally sense,it still doesnt disprove anything. The stories which was provided can easily be a hoax.

Let me explain:

There have been no substantiated reports of humans born with two hearts, the understanding of how this very early process of fusion of the two bilateral cardiac primordial is regulated should provide a better understanding of many aspects of later heart development including those that are directly linked to congenital heart disease.

NOBODY has ever been born with two hearts. They probably wouldn’t live long even if they did have two because locating two hearts in the body cavity, while at the same time relocating other organs to make room, the routing of the blood vessels between them, and the interaction between the two to maintain proper circulation and pressure is not something our DNA has the programming to deal with. It would make our circulatory system overly complex and impractical. The central cortex of the brain probably wouldn’t know what to make of two hearts, either, since it would normally be programmed to deal with only one. There are a lot of complex changes that have to take place in the brain and the body before a human being could be born with two hearts and be reasonably expected to live.

The heart forms early on in development, and is actually above the head. It swings down in such a fashion that only one could be created (as well as it folding over on itself).

Unless the second was non functioning, no. Where would blood be pumped? 2 aortic arches? What would the vagus wrap around? 2 pulmonary? Double oxygenate the blood? 2 vena cavas? What would cordinate the beats? Unless they are joined so the intercalated disks can transmit, their SA nodes (pacemakers) would get off what, and they would be out of sync.
