LAKELAND | Rabbi David G. Dalin came to the defense of World War II Pope Pius XII on Monday night.

The professor of history and political science at Ave Maria University in Naples discussed his new book, “The Myth of Hitler’s Pope,” to about 40 people at Molly McHugh’s Pub.

Dalin defended the reputation of the late Pius XII by presenting documentation gathered from church and state archives throughout Europe.

This book is not new as it was published back in 2005. It was short but readable
 
I read the book and highly recommend it. He refutes point by point all of the distortions from 'Hitlers Pope" and goes into how the Catholic Church has protected the Jews through history.

An excellent and truthful book.I donated my copy to my local library where it sits as an antidote to Cornwell’s Hitler’s Pope which it now resides beside.
